I've had a lot of jon boats in my lifetime. The 20 footers are just plain better in my always humble opinion. Yeah a 1648 will do it but a 2048 will do everything the 1648 does better, more comfortably and more stably and usually shallower. My first 2048 was an aluminum jon with a 35 mercury on it. Seemed like every time I took it to the river, somebody tried to buy it from me. Sold it and got an 18'6" x 54 with console steering and a Yamaha pro 50 with tilt and trim. That was a good one too. But I swear the 2048 Shawnee with the prop Yamaha 15 I am in now is the best jon I've ever had. LOVE all that rocker it has, really helps running shallow water. I'm sure a jet can get a few places I cannot, but there are not many. Aluminum is lighter but to me that's the only advantage. Glass boats are quieter, cooler in the summer and do not stick to rocks like aluminum does. All that said, it's your money. Best of luck with whatever you do.

St. Louis style spare ribs, cooked seasoned mixed greens and a baked potato. MartyQ sauce will be involved. So is Heineken. I made a mop sauce that has enough white pepper in it to be about a 3 or maybe 4 on the spicy scale. Nice flavor. Patience will be a virtue today.

Same here. Deer really like large lot subdivisions and pour over onto neighboring pastures, woodlots etc. And really like to challenge your peripheral vision and driving skills.

Yeah, ping pong is a lot of fun for the whole family. We played it a lot in college and then again with the whole fam damily in the 80's.

There's something wrong with me. I love driving across any of the plains states - Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, The Dakotas whatever. I day dream about herds of bison, and Native Americans and the early white men making their way across seas of grass, getting into and out of trouble from whatever. Never seem to tire of it, not when you can see so far and have so few people traces still in the view. Though the wind turbines are changing that and fast.

Call me crazy but I like the P line flouro clear. Mono that's flouro coated. I've convinced myself that it's better than regular mono and for sure better than straight flouro. Flouro has it's place but not with light line. At least if you ask me.

I spent a lifetime working or managing others working outdoors. My takeaway when it comes to weather is adjust to what's actually occurring. If I had called off jobs every time the weatherman said boo I'd need to work another ten years.

Flouro. There's your problem. Try the p-line flouro clear, no joke. I have my share of issues with straight fluorocarbon line - multi brands - too. And not always at the knot. You do know the p-line is only flouro coated correct?
