  1. Lovey worked for a couple of years at the saddle company. Lisa was a good friend of hers. As to Blossom and the other Browns, we have to talk face to face, there's just too much for any other way. She made me some good fried hot dog sandwiches. Lovey wanted to mention that ortho saddles really are the best.
  2. Phil does not care for political or other hatred or raw anger on his forum. I agree.
  3. There are still ferries in a few places.
  4. General 5 — The Corrector I grew up with this cat. Before horses, he rode Harley Choppers. His saddles are still highly sought after.
  5. You know better but just keep it up. It was reported by a member and dealt with appropriately.
  6. Man, if you only had half an idea of the changes I've been through...
  7. That's just sad. When I was a senior in high school, I was known as Rick the Red Room Waiter at Cottey College. And the man of joy to a few of the Cottey College debutantes.
  8. Shad guts can be good for certain. Even back then the big channels were pitched back in. That yellow fat is just nasty. Now blue cat is a different matter. No red and it is terrific. Jon boat and a 9.9 evinrude changed my life and a few buddies too.
  9. Well then. Hot water and dawn dish detergent in the right spot is worm magic. Absent a tamper we did a fair amount of jumping down hard on diggin spots ourselves. When it is right, nothing and I mean nothing will outfish river bottom worms - the real night crawlers.
  10. When you figure out how to grow the ones you can collect on the streets in town after a big rain, you're in the money. $2.50 for an old oil can half full of river bottom dirt and 2 dozen real AMERICAN worms.
  11. You might want to wait a day or two. I called the office for room reservations and got a kind of iffy answer thinking maybe a tournament then. Still waiting for an update..
  12. I just made reservations for a dog sitter for 23,24 and 25 of January 2025😎
  13. Beautiful is the right word. Good job guys.
  14. That's not the best thing. It's a thing, but the river is the best thing.

    What's Cooking?

Sometimes simple food can be what a person wants.
  16. That's old school. All the cool kids vape now.
  17. I had your honey on a waffle this morning. It's up there. Thanks for the sharing. It was good to meet you for sure. The whole names and faces thing is good.
  18. MoDOT is making Christian County close Green Bridge next Thursday. Construction on a new bridge to start early next year. That's going to be a major pain in the rear for at least the next two years for us and a lot of our neighbors. Will add about ten miles to the trip into Ozark. Why oh why didn't this project get started as soon as the Commission knew it was a go? Bridge to permanently close in Christian County, Mo., next Thursday (msn.com) Update on Green Bridge Replacement Project | Christian County Missouri (christiancountymo.gov)
  19. I got a propane weed burner torch for Christmas. Burned the leaves in the ditches alongside the driveway yesterday. Those things are FUN.
  20. Hey, recipe special request for that Strawberry dessert that was like Banana pudding except with strawberries. That was good stuff!
  21. ^^ Apparently, you've not met Cody yet.
  22. A truly wonderful time. I don't remember for sure who said it, but they nailed it with "This is a lot more like a family reunion than a fishing trip" It's really like that with these people. And everybody showed up with food that was the best of the best. I'm definitely going to bring Janet next year. Thanks again Phil for putting me up and replacing that hook on the DD Sculpin, even if it did take me 20 minutes to get that plastic guard off. And it did come through on that brown. Had fun with literally everyone there. Thank you all for coming and making it so much fun.
  23. Nutrients, primarily Phosphorus from wastewater discharges. Springfield being the big one. BIG algae blooms before SGF put in nutrient removal. All discharges to Table Rock lake now have P limits, and the larger ones also have Nitrogen limitations. You are right about MDNR getting that credit. They're the water quality protection agency,
  24. ^^ So if it's raining are you fishing or lunching. The forecast has gone somewhat downhill.
