    Moon Valley

Thanks! just looked at the radar....doesnt look like it could be too good if I go tomorrow. Any river gauges up that far or any good way to judge how the flow may be up there looking at water data?
  9. Is this a public access point, off Moon Valley Rd? Any idea how the water might be running up there? any outfitters take trips that far up?
  10. how far is the lake backed up into the river? I was thinking of taking the family to the pomme river (maybe niangua) but not too familiar with the lake or access points. Looks like good access of 120th and 150th, maybe off PP too. Anyone familiar with these locations? can you easily get a canoe/ yak or better yet a small trailer trailer dumped in at these locations? id like to find some moving water, didnt really want to put in on the lake.
  11. lakesunleader i thought.
  12. I would think safety as well. I'm not all that familiar with the lakes in this chain but Im assuming there are more people and boats on this lake than any of the others.
  13. Well it was the first time fishing taneycomo for my son and he was excited to get after some trout. We headed down Friday and put in at Cooper Creek about 4 that afternoon. First thing we did was boat up to the dam and drifted back. We fished jigs but it was tough for us. We had a few strikes, picked up a lot of moss but just weren't getting any to the boat. We stopped in at Lilly's and picked up more supplies, talked with duckydoty and got some tips. We ended the day boating just a couple rainbows. Saturday we were on the water by about 830 and by then there was maybe 1 unit running. again we run upstream and floated down from fall creek. we did this most of the day and had much better results. My wife landed the first (her first brown trout in MO) and last fish with several in between. My son and I tag teamed a few as well. It was a great day on the water with several nice fish caught and some that didn't quite make it to the boat. A big THANK YOU to @duckydoty for sharing some of his SS hand painted cranks and help putting us on fish. and while my son wasn't successful hooking up with a brownie (certainly it wasn't for lack of trying) he did have plenty of luck with the bows.
  14. the weather was fantastic. Friday wasnt too hot by the time we got on the water and Saturday was a beautiful day to be on the water. We pulled off Saturday evening about 530, just before that storm hit and headed back to Springfield. We were all wiped out, we'd spent almost 9 hours on the water. Daniel was a trooper. He kept up the entire trip until we got in the truck to head home and then he was out. we're already talking about headed back but it may be a month before we're able to make it.

  16. I'll be there with the family on saturday, maybe sunday too depending on the forecast. Prob put in a Cooper and fish up the lake as far as we can safely go. We'll be in a white '93 lowe. Say hello if you see us on the water.
  17. is it just me or is the link dead? http://www.ozarkanglers.com/lake-taneycomo/maps/
  18. what sizes do you normally start with? 12? 10? Great report! family and I will be down 22 & 23, we'll stop in and say hello.
  19. yup. one of the reasons why i run it. inevitably some fuel left over all winter in all or most of my outboard gas tanks but I do run it out of the motors. havnt had a problem starting them or running that older fuel on any of them after 4-6+ months since I made the switch to ethanol free. Also run it in my small engine 2-cylces but those i typically run all fuel out of tank and carburetors.
  20. read the regs and answered my own question.
  21. id rather jump out and take my chances swimming than ride in a boat with someone driving like that.
  22. what is the regular everyday price? seems like a good savings.
  23. we fished out of destin last week. only my 3rd time out on saltwater. it was my dad, son, wife and myself. our trip exceeded all expectations. great captain. only booked a 4 hour trip and we got a solid 4hours of fishing time, not including run time which we went 13mi from the harbor, 5 miles off shore. fished out of 26' center console style boat. we saw dolphins and turtles. we caught the bait which was cigar minnows 2-4 fish at a time. then we hooked into red snapper, white snapper, vermilion snapper and trigger fish, sometimes 2 at a time. he cleaned 25 fish for us and we caught at least twice that many. several times i looked around the boat and we had triples on. my son is 5, he and I fished together. my wife and dad each had their own rod. great experience.
  24. what lake did that get caught out of? springfield lake?
  25. you rig the sliders weedless?
