  1. If they don’t get pollinated, squash will just shrivel and fall off - insecticides/dusting can kill pollinators. One other possible cause could be lack of calcium - I have seen both give squash the problem you describe. Mike
  2. I was a regular at Shanks wade and shoot before the floods killed the pin oaks; spent many a day on Mark Twain when the lake was filling (literally for years)when we couldn’t draw in the poor man’s line. I don’t miss the early wake ups but I do miss the fellowship. Like TM, I could bring them in when I was where they wanted to be...and that is 90% of successful waterfowl hunting. Mike
  3. I like the confidence snoodle. Is that on a remote so you save battery? Mike
  4. Correct, was just curious why the change. Keep catching those big fish! Mike
  5. Scott, ‘Why did you ditch the “BigFish” for “BF”? Just curious. Mike
  6. ..and I get claustrophobia if I am in less than 25’. I WILL go there though when the fish are there. Not this time of year; those shallow fish are all yours. I was catching the 21’ LM( mostly 15-17”) while prospecting for walleye 2 weekends back. Fishing is pretty good. Mike
  7. I have fished LOZ most of my life; strategically located brush holds the good fish - not just bass, but more importantly desirable fish like walleye. The very best brush is on spots the average Joe overlooks or can’t reach - when you locate/place enough of those, that equals a nice milk run and a chance at a really good day every time out. You also need to be able to place your bait in them cleanly, and that is why skipping, pitching, flipping, and shooting rule on LOZ. Ethical? Yes. Much more so than fishing PB2. Mike
  8. I would not throw the towel in on without having it looked at, I’d take it to the nearest MK service center. Mike
  9. I read this response and SMH. What you describe is PRECISELY what the MSM does to push the liberal agenda and incite emotional responses in THEIR followers. I heard once that when you point a finger at someone there is one finger aimed at them there are THREE aimed at you. True story. Geez.
  10. Insert the word “incidents” in place of the word “protests”.....
  11. BS. Criminals and resistors are treated like criminals and resistors, regardless of color, race, or income. Yes, cops occasionally make mistakes - all humans do. The results are tragic when these happen - EITHER when the cop dies, OR an innocent civilian. I would wager that many many more cops die as the result of mistakes than innocent civilians. And just how many physicians have been treated like LEOs when mistakes occur? Why not? No other profession other than LEO is expected to be perfect, or be attacked by the MSM. Except maybe GOP politician... Mike
  12. The top looks more to me like fry, below likely shad. If after crappie, they will be keying on the fry and can be had on cranks or spider rigging. Bass more likely Around the the shad. I don’t see any clearly in this shot but would be making a note on those depth ranges. Probably not far away. Mike
  13. I don’t excuse the cop’s behavior in that interaction - he should answer in court in addition to the already levied penalties. I will add, however, I was taught as a young child that fighting would not turn out well - especially with LEOs. It’s called respect. I also believe in taking personal responsibility and not making excuses. I have been arrested several times and not once was it the LEOs fault. Not once did I fight, as I would have my day in court. Cops did me a favor by calling me on my BS. I believe if everyone behaved accordingly there would be no events like this. Mike
  14. There are protesters and there are criminals; their actions define them separately. I’ve seen clips edited to omit actions leading up to events and spin up riots, and I’ve seen unedited clips that tell a different story. I like facts and data; and choose not to be mislead or manipulated. I do not think I am alone. Mike
  15. I think you are giving entirely too much credit to the statue destroyers - most cannot tell you the history of that individual(s), and would not read the book if you placed it in front of them. From what I can see the mob is generally interested in the destruction of anything that represents civilized society. This particular statue may be an exception as there may actually have been discussion and debate prior to it’s removal, but it is certainly NOT representative of the fate of most recently. I do not buy that that these are discerning individuals. Mike
  16. Next come the books... Mike
  17. Elections are typically about the lesser of 2 evils for me. Selections outside the 2 parties(and I have) are wasted as history demonstrates they will lose without backing. Trump may have been able to pull it off, and I believe that is why the GOP eventually co-opted him. He surely as hell ain’t perfect, but certainly was the lesser of...and likely will be again in November - despite the might of the MSM and CWF. Mike
  18. Make sure you use the long shank light wire cricket hooks, especially with the kiddos. Mike
  19. These defunding initiatives are based upon theoretical benefit. The fact is, most social theories don’t hold water, and the price is pretty darn high for this experiment. At the end of the day this just reinforces my desire to get out of the city. Soon. Mike
  20. I drilled out and added a heavy wire ring I could tie 50’ of good trot line cord to on mine. I troll with lead core often below 30’ and this works well for me. Mike
  21. If she is anything like my critter guard she will make herself comfortable...
  22. ..ahhh, but lots of holes. I have brindle that does similar work....I have adjusted tactics to try to end the moles via trap to reduce the digging. Mike
  23. First aid kit with good bandages and tape, clean sharp lineman’s pliers(to cut the hook point off). At least that’s what I’ve heard....🙄 Mike
  24. You would not have been considered if you weren’t a playa; you should not get down over this. Lots of factors influence final decisions - often times the candidate passed over has a critical role and is too difficult to replace, or there is some influence other than qualifications that tips final results one way or the other. Mike
  25. I’m with you on this Wrench, I have a few RCs and the 1.5s in natural shad are money; not giving them up. Mike
