  1. Disappointed by the ruling. And I agree about increasing the enforcement, closing the accesses from 10 pm to 4 a.m. Should be hefty fines for littering, bringing glass. Enforcement seems way too lax in most of Missouri. Just about every access ANYWHERE in our state, that I have been to in the summertime . . . . its ugly.
  2. Did you know there are mice salesmen? no joke. Science needs high quality mice for research, and they aren't cheap.
  3. Yes, Robert Cray was at Chesterfield amphitheater. Wilco was at the Centene Music park.
  4. I'm always amazed at the topwater strikes I get that happen the very instant the bait hits the water. Those are the ones that are usually an inch or two from the bank or from a weed-bed, or a log. Its like the fish saw the bait coming through the air and opened its mouth to catch it like someone throwing popcorn to your mouth.
  5. I've got a couple buddies that have been doing beekeeping for a few years now. It's an interesting hobby, but frankly, I don't quite get it. One small jar of honey lasts me a couple years.
  6. Wilco is worth checking out. From Belleville. Original band was Uncle Tupelo before Jay Farrar went and formed Son Volt. Uncle Tupelo used to play in the basement of Cicero's back in the early 90s. Now both bands, Wilco and Son Volt are pretty popular. Id say Wilco is much more so.
  7. Its been 25 years or so since I saw Robert Cray perform, I think it was also at a festival in KC. I think he sounds better than ever. Voice is very strong, and his guitar chops were on full display last night. Very clean, almost too clean, but I can't complain. The crowd on hand was lame though. Maybe half capacity and they all stayed firmly seated like they were watching a movie.
  8. Saw 2 pretty good shows in the last few days… Wilco and Robert Cray last night…
  9. Duane was outstanding a couple months ago for me and my brothers. We didn’t necessarily slay ‘em, but I don’t think anyone was that day. He worked his butt off but made it look easy, and gave us the best possible chances….’the definition of what a guide should be. Gold standard, really. All of the things mentioned here and then some. Very patient and handled and adapted to my special needs younger brother incredibly well. Frank went home giggling and happy. So did I.
  10. Lookup what they did to the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas.
  11. Jealous. I heard that was a dandy.
  12. Oh my! Lots to unpack here. And help me understand "99% certain, probably" 🤪
  13. Is this going to be like the Octopus Teacher where I cry at the end?
  14. I'm with Netboy. If we're going to split hairs, upper Taney is an impressive fishery, but the elephant in the room is . . . . . it would be a stretch to rate it a better fishery than the upper White or Norfork tailwaters. Whether the long term impact of the ARK regulations are a factor, or whether the habitat is simply better, or a combination of the two, I don't know. I think upper Taney could only IMPROVE if they were to follow the Arkansas regulations. It won't do worse, thats for sure. Fishing in the outlets would be a good place to start for correcting things but I’ll shut up for now.
  15. I agree. He is hilarious in Best In Show and also Dodgeball too.
  16. Hope that old buzzard is okay.
  17. Near the top of Ophir pass.
  18. Bridal Veil Falls. 360 feet
  19. Coming down was a hot mess. Stalled Jeep below us in a tricky switchback area below the steps. Watched the red bronco in front of us almost roll off the side— it’s back rear passenger side tire was a foot off the ground. A 4Runner high centered at least twice and needed help getting unstuck. And reports of a Jeep rollover behind us but no one was injured. beautiful though. Highly recommend, but hire a guide.
  20. Near the top of Black Bear Pass today.
  21. Loved that place. Sadly, it is gone. One of our best vacations ever was staying there, all thanks to your tip, Ness.
  22. They were moving in for sure, but i carefully planned my escape through the willow jungle. None of this would have happened if they hadn’t given ole Paul the hi-hat. They can take their Ralph Lauren snobbery and shove it right up their $2700 a night poo poo
  23. Gate locked. Had to buzz the intercom attendant. They wouldn’t let me tour the property, even when i said I was a security attaché for an upcoming wedding for one of Oprah’s nieces. So I went and trespassed on their lovely meadow water, west fork of the upper Dolores. Dunton Hot Springs
