  1. My dad said he saw Hank at the Keil Opera house in 52. Cost 2 bits.
  2. A good solid boat. I have a 88 model 189FS we use regularly. I'd buy it if I needed a boat.
  3. I ran my 45 HP Tracker all over the Mississippi and some on the Missouri without ever having an issue. Used to lock thru Alton regularly. With that being said, I grew up with boats in my playpen.
  4. I've had that issue before and never really found a solution. Maybe the Magic Erasers?
  5. Dang whites and hybrids keep crapping on me and puking shad all over the boat.
  6. My Daiwa BG is my favorite reel out of the 50 or so I have.
  7. I don't believe there are any outfitters left on Little Piney, buts that's the place to be. Big Piney can be good fishing but can be slow paddling as there are many long slow pools. Gasconade in that area is jetboat territory. I'd float the Meramac far upstream.
  8. Been trying to find a way to get the scum and scale off my white boat for the last couple weeks, even tried diluted Muratic acid. Today I used toilet bowl cleaner with a Magic Eraser and it cleaned right up. One more side to go and it's ready for wax.
  9. Hope you don't get Armadillos. Their really a PIA critter.
  10. Our place is on a silted in flat, so we almost always try to fish off the bottom. We typically rig like a Carolina rig but with a small float about 12" above the bait which will hold it a foot or so off the bottom. Works very well for the blues here on LOZ.
  11. No real designated areas, but you're good to camp on gravel bars below the normal high water level. Just stay away from gravel bars with ATV access or you may have someone joining you for breakfast.

    What's Cooking?

Put a Tri Tip in the Sous Vide this morning. Set for 6 hours at 131. I'm thinking sear on the grill, rest and serve with a tomato salad and grit cakes from this mornings leftover cheesy grits. Don't have any good bread or wine and gotta use what we have. No grocery trips as we're thinking we need to quarantine as the wife started showing symptoms Friday and looking to get tested tomorrow.
  13. A water bottle of Parsons' ammonia will train the dogs. Use it twice and they will hide under the porch when you ride by.
  14. Are the Asian carp an issue? I've heard they're thick below Bagnell?
  15. Probably not A&B, somewhere on Manchester Rd. in Kirkwood or just west of there.
  16. I still have my road bike, a Motobecane I bought at A&B in 72. It's still ready to ride. Had the tubular type tires till about 10 years age when I finally switched to conventional. We used to ride the hostel trail and do 100 to 150 mile trips. Wife has a nice Trek, she went to South Dakota a couple years back and did a week long trip on the Mickelson trail thru the black hills.
  17. I think I could use the Bird, we have a pontoon with the cheapest Bird ever made, but hooked to a good transducer. PM me info, I'lll pay Paypal or mail.
  18. Interesting, 333 was correct last week on Facebook, I guess those thousands of folks missed the threads too. Funny that they said I won their contest.
  19. 333, check the details and remember PEMDA
  20. Wrench, who sells that special bunk board where 3/4" equals an inch? In all seriousness I need one longer than 18"
  21. I'm in, I'll make a donation somewhere. Not sure to what yet. These guys okay? https://www.americanrivers.org/
  22. Many years back we were camped at Hodgson Mill on Bryant creek and there was a white fly hatch, I'm guessing Caddis? They got so thick they put out the campfire and covered the roadway on the bridge. The ditches along the road were full and looked like snow. Several cars almost lost it crossing the bridge it was so slick.
  23. This picture tells it all.
  24. My trailer is parked, not used in a couple of months as the boat is on a lift. Noticed yesterday the spare tire had a catastrophic blowout. I last checked inflation back in January before a trip to Taney, and had it at 50#, per specs. I'm guessing the sun caused enough expansion to blow it. But why the spare? BTW the tire was 3 to 4 years old but had never been driven on.
  25. I saw a similar empty rig parked beside the road at a Mark Twain lake ramp. The horses looked bored but at least they were in a shady grassy area.
