It’s definitely a zoo up too! The amount of disrespectful people is absolutely absurd. The amount of people that I seen mishandle fish is just sad to see on multiple occasions. People just drag them out of the water and let them lay on the rocks and then squeeze the fish with a death grip waiting to take a picture. Then they wonder why the fish bellies up and won’t swim off on its own and they just leave it there to die and back to fishing they go.

Finally was able down to get down when the water was off. My third trip down in the last 4 weeks and they have had the water running the other 2 times. Got down late/early into Friday morning, fished all night until they blew the horn at 6am. Caught fish on Black/Brown PMS, Black Woolies, and White San Juan Worm/Pink Egg flies under a float with a glow stick from near Outlet 1 down to the skinny water. Saturday fishing was rather tough, Sunday was a good day for catching Browns! Crazy how much difference a day makes. Tan Scuds in Size 20,22 were the ticket. All the female browns were absolutely chunks! Below the dam was a zoo day and night! At one time I counted 12-15 headlights on as far down stream as I could see while fishing near the cable. Tight lines!

Got down to the dam late Thursday night. Fished 4am through sunrise Friday morning and did pretty well with the water being off. Caught a boatload of nice quality rainbows 18-22” at night stripping a Black PMS. Caught several fish after sunrise on Red San Juan worms, Black and Copper Zebra Midges Size 18 and Red Cracklebacks. They ran 35mw on Saturday and Sunday and did fairly well as well drifting Tan and Grey Scuds Size 18 and 16. Caught fish drifting a White Mega Worm under a indicator with a glow stick after dark. Only caught the 1 Brown on Friday but hooked up with 2 nice ones on Sunday but one got off and broke off on another, we always have that one that got away, Right? I’ll be back down again next weekend to try again. Tight Lines!

Here’s a photo that was on the Facebook page before it was pulled. FYI it’s not my photo, just passing it along.

I think a buddy and I are going to head out there tommorow and see what happens. A bit different than my normal trips to Taney. Lol I’ll report after I get back on how things go! Yeah

@ruthead. @snagged in outlet 3 Good luck guys!

@JestersHK Yeah I seen some big boys still cruising around especially on the last day we were there but of course time to come home! Crowds are one thing, but disrespectful crowds are another!

Made it down to beautiful Lake Taneycomo over the weekend October 10-14. Overall I felt fishing was a bit slow compared to my last fall trip I made down catching numerous browns. Made the best of the weekend with the rainy and chilly conditions we had. It was mainly cloudy and rainy the whole time we were there. Didn't get skunked by any means but had to work a bit for them. Didn't see a whole lot of rods bent during the trip either especially the combat fisherman at war of Outlet 2. Only managed one brown while I was down out of all the fish we caught and the rest were bows. We got to the parking lot of the darn most mornings around 5:30am and the amount of cars in the parking lot day and night was absolutely crazy! Managed to do some night fishing as well and caught a few on white woolybuggers, red leaches, purple and black pms and green mega worms under an indicator with a glow stick. The biggest numbers came on the green mega worms during the day. Also caught fish on midges, scuds, dark brown san juan worms, tigertails, egg flies in pink and yellow. All in all was fun to get away and down to stand in the water for a few days and chuck a fly rod. Tight Lines! View full article

I had a similar experience as well SIO3. I fished Friday and Saturday and did well but wouldn't say great. I spent most of my time fishing around Outlet 1. Tight Lines! -
Thanks Johnsfolly! Keep at it and with the hard work and dedication it will pay off. Your brown will come for sure. I was in the same boat for awhile and never caught a brown, just rainbows!
