  1. I believe the hopper/terrestrial bite has started at Taney. Hit part of the narrows and above bluff bank with a hopper pattern. Lot's of action, landed nice size bow, 2 eats 2 hookups, one threw hook other big fish wrapped around some timber, this all happened in.a short period of time, thinking it should just keep getting better.
  2. I fish straight shank midge hooks in still or when I'm suspending in the water column, I think provides a bigger profile for the trout looking up, curved when bottom bouncing midges if faster water. Also, not sure but, when midges/nypmphs are rising to the surface they may be more elongated,. All that said I've caught fish in reverse scenario, so I might be just overthinking things, the size is probably more important
  3. Sea Trout might count
  4. Never seen them that thick, they are abundant at Clinton Lake in Lawrence, but not even close to that!

  12. Might bring the Cicadas up
  13. @Travis Swift Thanks!, I did miss Rebar, missed it motoring up. Will try and film it and splice it in. The narrows gets crowded, besides the stacked boats, waders hang around, but even with the crowds fish still seem willing to be fooled. It's cool when the water is off and they are letting water out at powersite and those gravel bars appear and fish are tailing for scuds/sowbugs.
  14. A life well lived! His Peppy Scud lives on and still is a killer pattern, thank you Roland!

  21. Tied up a couple of patterns, getting ready for the hatch.
  22. @Scubapath I've read that the soil temp 6 inches deep needs to reach 65 degrees, they say a good warm spring rain can bring them up. I'm betting they come up early with the warmer weather we've been having.
