  1. We just released a new app that reports current and scheduled generations for our Tailwaters. It shows both scheduled and current on same page. Free anonymous use, no data collected. Let me know any issues you may have. Thanks, David Available in Apple and Google App Stores. Name to lookup is cfswater no space between cfs and water
  2. Pattern has been pretty consistent at 17mhw or around 1200 to 1400 CFS at that time, guessing it will stay this way for a while.
  3. @trythisonemvLooks very sculpinee
  4. Nope, no live bait or soft plastics.
  5. Thanks for the fishing report @Phil Lilley, always informative. I had a trip Saturday and it was slow, fished the 17mhw mostly around the narrows, had some luck on a size 18 scud and size 20 blood midge. Saw lots of fish eating something in the current. I'm thinking the low flow is making us to visible to them, they are wise to boat traffic, not really getting bit close to the boat, and can confirm a lot of "swing and a miss" on eats. Thinking of sizing down to 7x and sizing down indicator and bugs.
  6. Best wishes and hoping for a speedy recovery.
  7. Very Cool! thanks for sharing
  8. I ty a hopper pattern for the White using this thick black foam I got from Micheals. I don't have to fold over I can use one strip. You can also double up thin foam, but for hoppers thicker the better, needs to be as buoyant as possible, and if you're targeting big browns off the bank, they have a little larger profile.
  9. @Krazo I put RIO technical eruo nymph line on it and it is thinner with a mono core, however I did not spend much time with the technique/rig, majority of my time is fishing out of a boat. So, on the 4 weight 10'6 inch i "lined up" with floating 5 weight line and fish with an indicator, and depending upon generation will run leaders up to 18ft,
  10. Just checked, the rod is only $300.00
  11. I hear ya, "high sticking" get's my arm tired pretty quick, even with a 9'
  12. I don't fish euro style much, but I have a cortland "Nymph" 10'6" weight euro nypmhing rod. It's in your price range $600.00. Like the rod, also use it for super long leader indicator fishing during high generation.
  13. Trout mostly eat small aquatic insects and crustaceans (i.e scuds). I think they kinda have to be in a certain mood to eat other fish. They like to chill have food delivered to them.
  14. Text "g table" without the quotes to this number 913.270.0360 will give you current generation its's currently working. More info and features at https://keyholesoftware.dev/convo/cfswater/
  15. Had a trip Saturday caught some fish with full bellies and looked like hard objects in them. Then one of them barfed up a couple three of these....
  16. Thanks! Love to take folks fishing, contact me if any one would like to go. https://kcflatsco.com David

  18. Just watched this and had to post about it. May 31 "One Cast" Video. It's packed with "on the fly" techniques for fishing with little to no generation. Thanks @Phil Lilley
  19. Sorry to hear this, hoping he has a quick recovery
  20. When you start wrapping the chenille forward towards the hook eye, take one wrap behind the tied in hackle, then wrap in front and forward, it pinched the hackle stem and makes a nice rear end transition, keeps it from getting mashed down.
  21. Congrats on landing a carp "on the fly", especially with a 5 weight! I usually hunt carp with an 8 weight, they can tug and don't give up easy!
  22. Just got my Captains License and going to start a part time side hustle taking folks fly fishing on Taneycomo. Like to offer OA members a discount. 40% off trip rates for a limited time and number of folks. If interested you can find info at https://kcflatsco.com Offer only applies to Taneycomo trips. Private message me via this forum if interested. I won't limit how far out you want to book a trip, but demand will dictate how long and how many discounted trips i can offer. Thanks, David
  23. I believe the Hawaii is a stop on the way to Christmas Island where you can catch Giant Trevally (GT'S), they can eat low flying sea birds On my list, but probably won't get there. Anyone ever catch a GT?
  24. I went to captains school with the tiki hut captain. His day job is building high end tree houses. He also build the tiki hut, he used a bunch a barrels, basically unsinkable, but indicated kind of hard to steer. He's a nice guy.
  25. RIP Meatloaf
