I realize this is the Bull Shoals Lake page but things are getting interesting over at Norfork Lake. It is predicted to peak at 579 which is one foot from top of flood pool. We have another storm coming through this weekend and predicted to last till Monday.

I highly recommend the USACE - Little Rock App. It is something the USACE actually got right unlike their website, lol... If you don't want to use the app, here are some other options: Rivergages (https://rivergages.mvr.usace.army.mil/WaterControl/new/layout.cfm) - Click on Little Rock District than White River Basin then scroll down to White River at Table Rock Dam River Gages - Table Rock Dam (https://rivergages.mvr.usace.army.mil/WaterControl/stationinfo2.cfm?sid=FORM7&fid=&dt=S). Click on Plot to see 7 day lake level graph USACE - Little Rock Website - Table Rock Only (https://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/data/tabular/htm/tabrock.htm) USACE - White River Reservoirs - Current Conditions (https://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/reports/remote/curcond.htm) USACE - White River Reservoirs - Forecast Conditions (https://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/reports/remote/lakfcst.htm)

I'm guessing there isn't going to be much water release this week from either Bull or Norfork based off the forecast for the Newport gauge.

As the lake level blew past 690 over the weekend, I could hear my wife in my head saying "See.... I told you that you were going to be wrong..." 😂😂 As of today (5/18), the USACE is predicting Bull Shoals Lake to peak at 691.5 on May 24th. Crazy thing is the remaining 3.5 ft makes up 12% of the flood storage for the reservoir.

Here is the rainfall map for just the past 72 hours. Data was found here: https://www.iweathernet.com/total-rainfall-map-24-hours-to-72-hours

The National Weather Service has adjusted their predictions overnight. Here is a link to their site (LINK). This is the same information that KY3 reports. I still believe it going to take a multi-day heavy soaking rain to get the lake level on Bull Shoals Lake north of 690. However, my wife reminds me that I am wrong on a daily basis...which could easily be the case here too..😂

As of 10:42, today (5/12), the USACE is predicting Bull Shoals Lake to crest at 686.6 on the 18th. I suspect they will raise the crest some more after this rain event concludes next week. With that being said, it is going to take a lot more rain to get Bull to the top of flood pool. At this point, the storage capacity is at 68% even though there is only 10 feet left in the flood pool.

I've been fishing the Magdraft since 2016 and I fish it much like Mixermarkb does. I tend to do better when the water on Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake are not in the bushes on the Magdraft. It is definitely addicting. Unfortunately, it has cost me a lot more money as I now have a deep 3700 Plano box full of them. I have been meaning to the try the magslowL. It can be fished deeper but it also can be fished faster than the Magdraft and has a much wider tail kick.

I've been seeing numerous reports of Ozark Bass being caught in the White River chain of reservoirs, this spring. That is good to hear. They are a cool little fish and only found in the Upper White River watershed.

Without having the fish in hand, my opinion is this is a Smallmouth Bass and not a Meanmouth. Nevertheless, it is a good fish, congrats!!

I'm curious if the strong bottom bite was correlated with the USACE releasing a lot of water from the lake. We have noticed on Bull and Norfork that there is a great jig bite or bottom bite during that scenario. Once they shut the water off, the suspended bite picks up especially when the water temperature is still cool. Just an observation that we have noticed over the past couple of years. Thought I would pass it along.

The Mark Oliver George's Creek Access is open as is all the other AGFC accesses on Crooked Creek. I hope this map of Mark Oliver George's Creek Access help you out.

Good-looking fish in those pictures. The fish in the third picture is a meanmouth....

Your sucker was a golden redhorse 😂😂

Forgot about the exceptions..... there is always exceptions with the government 😂😂 It is supposed to hit the 50% mark on the 30th and likely exceeded it.

Isn't going to work that way. The Newport gage will be dropping to 12 ft from 21 ft on April 15th. That mean ALOT less water will be released at that point. I'm guessing we are looking mid summer before Bull gets to be back to normal, and we haven't even got through the heavy rain months of April and May yet.
-
Yep, the regulating stage at Newport drops to 14 ft from 21 ft which means less water can be released from Bull Shoals and Norfork which eventually affects the other two White River reservoirs. "15 April – 7 May: Regulate to 14 feet except, regulate to 21 feet from 15 April through 30 April, and 18 feet from 1 May through 14 May, if the 4-lake system flood storage exceeds 50% full. 8 May – 30 November: Regulate to 12 feet except, regulate to 14 feet from 15 May through 30 November if the 4-lake system flood storage exceeds 70% full." From: http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/docs/White_River_Master_Manual.pdf

They have until April 15th to get out as much water as they can. After that, it gets a lot harder to release.
