  1. We're floating Friday with our kayaks. Figure there will be plenty of people, but not as many as there would be Saturday.
  2. What's the level like? We're coming Thursday-Sunday and staying at Maggards. Hoping that the river is still up a little bit.
  3. Or smoke one of the pillars on the KC bridge, luckily I was able to bend it back into working condition.
  4. Lazy Lee's Resort has two pontoons that they rent http://www.lazyleesresort.com/rentals.html
  5. @bluebasser86 caught one in KS a few years ago, I believe it was out of Milford Lake. He can provide a picture for evidence I imagine.
  6. We were having success in little pockets like this on Saturday/Sunday when there was water running in. Big smallie of the weekend was in a pocket almost exactly this.
  7. You're killing me with this post. Headed down there tonight for a little "tournament" with friends. If I can figure out the bass I may have to target some crappie tomorrow. Thanks for the report.
  8. I pre-rig my Neds and put them in some of the taller pill bottles. They fit pretty perfectly. I'll take 5 or 6 on a given day and like Dave said I'll have a couple of each color that I like to use.
  9. Thanks everybody for the help. I wound up reserving a cabin at Kimbering Oaks. They didn't have the cabin I wanted available for that week so the lady offered me a much bigger cabin for about the same price. It's going to be nice for every one of us to have our own bed.
  10. A bunch of us are heading to TR at the end of march for a guy's weekend. There are a couple guys that like to bring their dogs as they never go fishing without them. Little Indian Resort right next to Baxter says that they allow dogs, but I am having a hard time getting a hold of anyone there. Does anyone know of other resorts that are around mid-lake that allow dogs and are open in March? Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. Lazy Lee's has a big vacation house that we stayed in back in August that sleeps about 15 people. Not exactly Branson area but it's on the water. Don't know what their availability would be like on such short notice though. ***Edit*** Just looked at their website and it says it's available this weekend.
  12. I felt it in Gardner. Heard from some friends from college in Nebraska and some of them even felt it up there.
  13. Off topic but I saw Water Patrol probably 8-10 times during our week down there from 8/13-8/20. It was encouraging to see them having a presence on the water. This was in the KC area.
  14. The amount of people that ran across point 7 two weeks ago within about 50 yards of the point astonished me. The long string of buoys apparently isn't enough of a clue to stay the heck away. One fairly large cabin cruiser plowed right across in what had to be less than 5 FOW.
  15. I've floated the Niangua and Elk out of a raft and none of the places cared that I had fishing rods. I guess each is different.
  16. Yea they were definitely not very hospitable, but it was the only tackle shop in the area that I knew of. Guess I'll have to check out this new place when we get down there on Saturday.
  17. Well crap!!
  18. Did the other tackle store right across from the grocery store close?
  19. Dang, I didn't even put that together until you mentioned it. He needs a haircut and a shave, getting a little scrufty.
  20. Gotcha. I wasn't saying that I didn't believe you, more that I was just amazed if they hadn't been confirmed.
  21. My dad and all his buddies have their annual crappie trip starting tomorrow. They're on the Big Niangua around the 4MM, luckily they really don't have to leave the dock to catch fish. Told my dad about the Bash this weekend and he and his buddies had no idea about it, they're taking a boat but I don't imagine they get out much with all the traffic there will be.
  22. I can't believe they haven't been confirmed in Truman yet, if what you say is true. Melvern in East-Central Kansas has them and the marais des cygnes river that flows out of the lake is what makes up the Osage river, once it meets up with the Little Osage just across the state line.
  23. Thanks sore thumbs. Actually got this sold yesterday.
  24. I have that rod in the old full cork model (before they upgraded to the newer cork model) and it's a fantastic, and versatile rod. I use it for all the things you've listed and it performs very well. I will say it's probably a little light for tubes though.
  25. How about $120 TYD...
