Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cringe at this meme. I hope that these girls cannot be identified. 30 + yrs ago made a few trips from Miami to the Bahamas and we passed several bales of marijuana. Just left them alone. No need to poke that bear.

I kept my dad's mossberg .22 mag rifle. My mom sold my dad's Colt .22 mag squirrel revolver and his 16 ga side by side double barrel shotgun. Regret not pushing to keep both of those guns.

Tour of Delaware 14Sep21 - Prefishing to prepare for Ham's DE visit So I took the day off and planned to fish several of the targets that I have looked at in preparation for a visit by @Ham to DE next week. Silver Lake - Dover DE My first spot was the spillway below Silver Lake. This spot should have white perch, white catfish, and brown bullhead. All of these would not only be new species for 2021 for Ham but also Lifers. I had two rods, a light rod with a mini trout magnet jig with a small piece of redworm below a float and a high/low rig with nightcrawlers. Started by fishing the hole in front of the car seen in the lower left of the photo. Caught a bunch of bluegill and this white perch in just a hand full of casts. Headed up to the spillway. Only caught bluegill on the high/low rig and lots on the minijig rod. Also a little black crappie came to hand. I then checked out the lake and it held a lot of promise. Lots of fish were seen along the rocky bank and a I caught more bluegill and a green sunfish. I cast the high/low rig out towards an overflow structure. Missed a heavy bite while reeling in another bluegill. rebaited and made another cast and was able to land a white catfish. Caught quite a few fish in the 50 or so mins that I fished the lake and river. Feel confident that a couple of target speices can be caught at this location. Moore's Lake - Dover Less than a few miles south of Silver lake was Moore's lake. I checked out the spillway and the lake, but didn't fish. I talked with the locals that were fishing that spot. They were catching mostly bluegill. Looking at this spot, there was shallow water below the spillway and would likely have similar species that could be caught at Silver lake, but less bank access. I did see lots of eastern mosquitofish near the boat rampl that I did not see at Silver lake. Maybe I overlooked them. However Moore's lake's proximity to Silver would not prevent us from fishing both to get that new lifer species. Lebanon Landing - St Jones River This spot is a tidal river that is fairly brackish. There were loads of mummichogs (#24 hook with worm) and I caught a dozen in the 15 to 20 mins that I was trying for bigger fish on the high/low rig. This could be the spot where Ham is able to catch an eel since they have been caught further downstream from this location. Red Mill Pond - Martin Branch/Sweetbriar access Very small clear creek going into the upper portion of the lake. Caught half dozen bluegill and one lone pumpkinseed sunfish. Only fished for 20 mins or so. Hit a couple other spots but did not fish them. Have some ideas now on where to focus for Ham's trip.

We had a feeder in the front and another in the back. In good years we may have 4 or 5 hitting those two feeders. Usually would have one front yard and one back yard male chasing everyone away from the feeders.

@Hawkfarm you and @BilletHead have a similar situation with the hummers. We never had enough in a year to go through a 5 lb bag of sugar let alone how much you guys go through. We would have loved to have more, but living in the burbs has some drawbacks. Very cool to see so many feeding together.

There looks to be 6 dorsal fin spines which would be consistent with white crappie. Black crappie have 7 and more typically 8 spines. Again the photo is not great.

Two anglers are fishing the bay near the mouth of the river. They have fished for a few hours and haven't caught a fish. They decide to head upstream. After 20 mins they met a fisherman walking downstream with a stringer full of fat fish. The two men ask him where he was catching those fish. He said that head up stream and once the water is no longer salty you'll find the fish. The two guys thanked him and decided to continue upstream. After a five minute walk They stopped. The one guy filled a bucket, handed the bucket, and asked his partner to taste the water. His buddy taested the water "It's salty." OK said the other guys, "Let's keep going." Anothrr 20 mins they stop again. He asks his buddy to again try the water. "Still salty." Was the reply. Again they went on. Another 20 mins and same answer. Them again and again. After about two hours of walking he asks his buddy again if the water was still salty. "Yes it's still salty. And we are almost running out of water." 🤣

My dad had a business meeting the morning of 9/11 in one of the buildings that was crushed by the towers. The meeting was canceled at the last minute. My brother saw the second tower collapse from his office. They walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to head home. He said that folks were deathly quiet the whole trip.

Tred Avon River - Bellevue MD - 07Sep21 After having to work on the holiday and cancelling a trip to try for banded sunfish, we stayed local and fished one of the rivers leading into the Chesapeake. Really not much to report. Just microfished mostly since we had seen some potential fish, including some possible menhaden, Monday evening. When we go to the ferry landing and marina, we didn't see the number of fish that we had the night before. I trimmed down a Sabiki rig to two hooks to match MD regulations and fished that while Livie fished a #24 hooks with a worm piece. She caught some mummichogs around the ramp. I caught a surprise juevenile black drum (my first for 2021) on the sabiki rig. We moved to deeper water and were only able to catch a few Atlantic silversides. None of these fish were new lifers 😔. Still nice to catch a few.

@oneshot Can't wait to see a trip report once you and your wife actually go somewhere 😅. Just kidding. Anywhere you go make sure to push her to let you try to catch some fish.

Two guys are walking together. Tom turns to Chris and says, "See Kevin over there. That guy's is such an idiot. I do this everytime that I see him. Hey Kevin I have a $20 dollar bill or five ones. Which do you want?" Kevin grabs the ones. Tom says, "See what an idiot. He doesn't know that the five ones are less than the $20." Later Chris bumps into Kevin. Pretty sure this was in this mess somewhere but I tell it anyways😅 A Rabbi, a Hindu priest,, and a lawyer are traveling together and their car breaks down. They walk up to a farm house to see if they could stay the night. The farmer said Ok but there is only room for two in the house and the other must stay in the barn. The Rabbi said, "My people were tough enough to wander for 40 yrs in the desert, I will stay in the barn tonight." About 20 mins later there is a knock at the front door. The farmer answers. It's the Rabbi. He says "There is a pig in the barn and my people see these animals as unclean. I cannot stay in the barn tonight." The Hindu priest said that he will sleep in the barn. 10 mins later another knock at the door. Irritated the farmer answers the door and there stands the Hindu priest. The priest states "There is a cow in the barn. My people consider the cow sacred. I cannot stay and sleep on sacred ground." The lawyer says that he will go and stay in the barn. Again 10 mins goes by and there is another knock at the door. The angry farmer pulls open the door. Standing in the doorway was the pig and the cow. 🤣

When I first read this post, I thought that you had a skipper fly that matched the butterfly photo and you caught those fish on that fly 😅
