    What's Cooking?

    That is a DANG spread!
  2. Some of my favorites lines. "I was feeding you Jack!" "He'll see the Big Board!" "Let me finish Dmitri. Well listen how do you think I feel about it? Can you imagine how I feel about it Dmitri?" "Don't say that you are more sorry than I am, because I'm capable of being just as sorry as you are... So we are both sorry all right?" Definitely one of my favorite Peter Sellers movies of all time!
  3. Nice bunch of fish Dan! I might have done better fishing than deer hunting. Did get a couple of shot opportunities but didn't pull the trigger. Fried crappie sounds really good right now!
  4. How about the pucker factor when you are in a major inlet on a falling tide, ripping past the jetty, headed into 4 to 6 foot standing waves, and then out to the ocean and the engine won't start. Then your host wonders why you don't go fishing with him again since this happens evert time he goes out.
  5. Only if the hatchery is feeding them contaminated pellets☺!
  6. I have caught 31 different species of shiner, minnow, sculpin, darter, topminnow, silversides, etc. since March 1. Twelve of them were new species. I do track them with a spreadsheet. I have had folks tell me that I need a hobby when they hear that I track all of the fishing events on a spreadsheet. I just smile and tell them that it my hobby ! Notice that I did say obsession previously!
  7. "He'll eat well!" That when there is some ground shrinkage ☺! My problem is that I don't often pass on a legal deer regardless of it's rack if its got antlers. Saw four this morning had one shot obscured by the sun in my scope.
  8. Very nice buck. Congrats!
  9. I certainly do enjoy a good kick in the shins especialky when I try to land a greemside darter. Or worse a stoneroller ☺! You would think that at least one of the hundred or more fish from that school would bite and not just disperse when my bait hits the water!
  10. It's a challlenge, a great time with my girl and friends, an education, a great use of a spreadsheet,, a boon to the red worm bait market, a need for a good map, a reason to fish the small creek next to your house, a kick in the shins when the one fish that you are targetting won't bite, and most of all an OBSESSION☺! Not that I would know anything about that☺!
  11. That is a giant. Congrats on a great brown trout!
  12. Dutch congrats on a great day of black and white bass successful fishing! Sounds like a great trip.
  13. Ketchup - Nice looking buck. I would be happy for him to ride along home with me. I hope you get a chance at him tomorrow ! Looks like I am flying solo myself tomorrow and also kind of blind on public land.
  14. Congrats on an awesome deer! At my house that would have lead to an outlay of coin to get that sucker mounted and on the wall!
  15. JD - we are praying for you and pulling for you to win this battle. Keep strong!
  16. If you fish the Roubidoux, some of the best action comes when they are discharging from the water treatment plant. Get lots of hits on red midges.
  17. Great Job buddy! I say it every year but I have to get down and fish SELA. Redfish have been a bucket list fish for me and I would love to catch a couple like those that you routinely catch☺.
  18. Tim you got some coverage in the article. Glad to see you connect while out there. I'll try to stop by next time I am down at RR. Looking forward to hearing about some C&R fish down your way. Don't know if you guys had enough rain to get the fish to move.
  19. Flysmallie takes and posts great photos. He'd be the guy I would listen to in terms of gear to use to take the photos as well as editing software. I use my phone but really rely on my old Olympus Stylus (both water proof and drop resistant) to get my photos and usa Picasa software to adjust color and contrast as well as cropping photos.
  20. Bobcat and gray fox are two predators that I would like to harvest and get mounted. I would love a mount with the bobcat reaching up for a flushed quail. The fox I would want mounted in a reclined position. One year I had a gray fox within 10 to 25 yards of my stand and gave me sgot opportunities on three different sits for deer. I never saw it after the opening of furbearer season. The one time I saw it climb 10 to 12 feet up a hickory tree to look up at a squirrel nest in that tree. That was pretty cool to watch.
  21. Bring a guy that wants to catch a brown in Taney! I happen to know a guy ☺.
  22. Even tbough they are long arming, those are great looking fish!
  23. Still a nice brace of stripers! Congrats Dan! Glad to see you getting good use of that new boat.
  24. That's a great looking McCloud! Congrats on your successful Crane fishing trip.
  25. I have seen a couple here in Missouri and one in Georgia. My friend shot a giant bobcat last year just outside of town here in Columbia. I drew my bow on one a couple of years ago. As it got within 15 yards of me it just disappeared. I never saw it again.
