May have been my bad on the color, but it's a green upper and a bright orange belly. The orange seemed to be the key, we caught several on a solid bright orange wart as well.

59 in campell point area today. The missus and i had a couple of nice days in the dirty water. Couple dozen in 3 or 4 hours. All on a ozark craw wart. Mostly halfway back. Mix of all three species, with spots most prevalent. 6 or 7 keeps both days. Isolated wood was a plus.

We were down two weeks ago, and I think we ended up with about 35 walleyes in a day and a half. they were all dinks, probably 6 to 14 or 15 inches, and all came on a dixie jet spoon from boat stalls. Just happened on to the first stall in the Campbell Point area and probably had 15 from this single stall. Seemed like we would get a couple from every dock in the area both on both days. Bass were extremely slow however. Must be a bunch of walters swimming around down there, and I kept thinking we would get a couple of larger specimens for the pan, but no such luck. FWIW

first off, thanks to you all who post current tips and reports! Its a great help to have an idea of what to expect for a once in a while weekender like myself. I left Pla-Port on Sat morning at 05:30 with the idea of going up the Kings to look for some shallow fish with a friend. Ran into a fog bank at the mouth of the Kings, and decided to change plans, at least until the fog lifted. Sat down at the island, and caught a couple of 16 inchers on a shakey head, and after a hundred yards or so, saw my locator indicate lots of fish just off the bottom at 30ft. My rod loaded up on the first drop with a coleslaw Dixie jet spoon. first one was 18 inches, and caught one or had one hooked up on every drop for 15 minutes or so. Trolling motor then rolled craps(happens at the worst time huh?), so headed back to the dock. Able to get the battery replaced in town(less than 3 months old, btw), and then got in a little nap and watched some golf. Saturday afternoon wife and I headed back up the Kings, and hit the trashy channel swing bank I had planned on hitting in the am. caught a pair of 19.5 inchers on the shakey head, but couldn't catch anything else. caught one more 16 incher on a similar bank on the way back down to my morning school of fish by the island. got there around 06:30 thinking that the boat traffic might have died down, wrong, but the fish were still there. caught 16 on the spoon, all but one were better than 15 inches, and several more on a plum drop shot worm, after the initial bite died down. Sun am these fish were gone, but had a similar bite up the Kings(except for size, these were mostly small spots) on the long point below the ski run. Thought I would try the spy bait as these fish were near the surface. they really eat that little thing, but dealing with two sharp little trebles vs one bigger one on the spoon made me put it down. Well, that's my info, hope some of you can put it to good use. Oh, LD met your son while fueling, seems like a nice young man. You should be proud! tight lines.

Took off from Pla Port around six forty five and headed down the lake to look for some brown fish. Started fishing around point nineteen, and fished my way back to hardmans by one thirty with three little dinks to show for my efforts(all fell for the ned). Picked up a friend from K.C. and headed up the White where we bad a decidedly better afternoon. Ended up with thirty total, and eight that would measure. The two best were a pair of pretty nineteen inches. They almost all came on a wobble head for me and a jig for my buddy. They all were in less than six feet of water, and several came from a foot or two of water. Shallow wood seemed to be the ticket. Water ranged from 56 to 58. Be safe.

Finally able to get back to the lake. Been really anxious to get the Triton wet. Got to Shell Knob at six and was in the water fishing by six thirty. Hit one cut and managed three in about an hour. They all came on a slow rolled War Eagle. The first one would have been close to four, and the other two were twins around two pounds. Threw the little guy a bit without any success. Looking forward to a couple of nice days. You see me on the water stop and say hi, and thanks to all you regulars for sharing. It really shortens the learning curve for us occasional TR guys.

changed prop on my boat, and wanted to run it a bit, so I headed out to my nearest lake which is Big Hill. Ran the boat for a bit, and couldn't resist making a few casts, so I picked up the rod which had a chart/brown laminate ned on it, and proceeded to catch two smallies, six largemouths, a crappie, and two channels from one windy point! This took place in a half hour or so. I know its not TR, but thought yall might find it as amusing as I did. tight lines.

Had another nice weekend at SK! didn't find the size we had the previous week, but numbers were still there on the Ned. We spent quite a bit of time looking from the backs to the mouths, without much success. very few wart takers, which really threw me off my game! Hey 96 champ, that was us at pla-port with the Triton. I should have asked about the forum, I've met a couple of other members there. I mentioned then, and want to say again-that Champ looks brand new. glad u got 'em. be back in a few days hoping for some sight fishing.

26 fish total today with better overall average size. Two on a Mc stick first thing this morning, then Ned fish to after noon. Fished from point 19 to Campbell Point. Headed into a spawning poket on the Kings after lunchtime, and caught two on a spinner bait in four feet of water! Visiability about 6 inches.(felt right at home). Worked our way up to Big M and had an 18 inch smalliie, and the capper was a 21 inch walleye in front of the marina.

There was two or three feet at sk, it looked good to me. Below campbell point it cleared up to maybe four or five feet.

Thanks so much too all of you who keep out of towners like me up to date!got on the water around ten thirty, and had trouble in the shell knob area. Ran up the white and ended up with 22 with six or seven keeps. Nothing big best five might have hit twelve pounds. Most came on the crawler when the wind would pick up. The balance came on the pbj Ned. As others have said it was really hit or miss. If you see a grey triton with pp's one the back, stop and say hello. Will be here thru Wednesday.

Prayers offered from here as well.

looks like I will be at TR this weekend after all. Will be staying at Shell Knob at a friend's place. Not sure I can get him up and around in time to make the take off, but would love to meet some of y'all. Are you using the ramp where Big M is located? Thought maybe I would stop by afterwards to say hello. If I am able to get him up and around, are you "taking entries at the ramp" on Saturday morning?
