    6-3

Launched at Cedar Ridge this morning around 5:30. Made 2 stops before leaving at 11. The bass catching was good. Water was clear and 70.4. Did run into some of that green snot in areas. It’s always beautiful out first thing in the morning. There were 2 others launching when i did, and when i took the boat out, the parking lot was pretty full.
  2. Looks like some of the top guys will be there. i went back in the winter “post on here somewhere” and loved the lake. Will be back this fall.

August came early this year. 😁
  4. Just what i came to say. One of the greatest positives that come from these floods are the chance that spawning fish have a better success for making it. With the water up, beds are hidden making bedding fish harder to see/catch, which makes for more fry to give it their best to grow into the next 7lber.
  5. I think you grabbed the wrong jar. That there looks like moonshine.
  6. Well, Wheeler struggled today. Wiggins wasn’t even on my radar for top 5, let alone the win. LOZ showed good for those watching around the country. Should help the lake bring in some visitors since the lake is so unknown and unpopulated.
  7. Well, looks like Wheeler is doing as predicted. My $.05 is on him getting it done Thursday. Lots of incoming storms.

    Road Trip

I woulda needed a nap after all that.
  9. Shaw not only put on a visual clinic, but a verbal one as well. JVD surprised me today.
  10. from the Grand Glaize Marina Recreation Area. Starts tomorrow thru May 5
  11. Hard to ever pick without adding Wheelers name. Lawyer should do well, as well as Jordan Lee. Edwin posted a video earlier saying he caught tons of fish, but no 2 pounders.
  12. Well, had a tournament there today. Luckily it was a south wind, and not from the west or north, tho it still was rough. launched at 6:30 from Masters and ran to Highpoint area where we spent the day. Caught lots of fish, just no keepers. Lots of males up close. Was glad to get off the water.
  13. At your age it’s not the money that does it, it’s the memory 😁
  14. Turkeys have the best eyesight of any creature in the wild when being hunted. Been busted so many times while in a tree with a bow, just by blinking or softly sucking my snot back up my nose. Keep at it. That first time you call a bird in, harvested or not, you will never forget.
  15. Were there signs posted saying no fishing within designated area? Seen this below online. It is a law that on corps lakes/river that if the owner of the commercial marina chooses - they can stop all recreational swimming / fishing ect. within 50 feet of the marina structures. I believe it does state though that it has to be marked and folks will have the signs on the corners of their docks.
  16. We usually plant the first weekend of May. With the warm days/nights i thought why not. They will grow or i will feed them to the deer/rabbits. i traded sone straw bales i had to a local guy with a nursery so i have a decent credit there.
  17. We stuck 5 leafy lettuce, 8 peppers, 6 tomatoes, 100 white onions, 10 strawberries in last weekend. Will do the 2nd 3rd this sunday, then the 3rd 3rd the following Saturday.
  18. Bring our pellet shooters and live a long, happy life.
  19. I’d stay the night.
  20. And one of his mexican ladies cooking.
  21. Ain’t he tho? I mean it’s all great reads, but he’s taken over the section. I was going to contribute some of my 30+ years experiences, but no room.
  22. OneShots Home Improvement stories.
  23. Without a doubt. 2 weeks ago it was a Livingston crank, few worms, and line. As of this post it is tidy.
  24. Boy, i never seen these replies to this post. To me there are few things in life, outside of family, that gets my memory bank overflowing like stories of birds and dogs. I’ve hunted California, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio for quail/dove/pheasant. Spent 2 days in SD to chase longtails, and on the way there got food poisoning that last the entire trip, so never left the room. That is on the cards again. Anyone need a walking partner this fall? 😁 Wrench, you haven’t changed one lick, other than the hat.
  25. Nice picture. Every.single.spring i say I’m getting another GSP pup and will get back to chasing birds, yet here it is spring again, and no pup. It has been nice being dogless tho. These spare of the moment hunting/fishing trips go off without a hitch. I raised some Rawhides Clown blood back in the mid 90’s to early 2000’s. Had 1 litter a year, and kept 1 pup from each to sell as started. Lots of memories there. Had a neighbor bird chaser that had a 10 week old Llwellyn Setter he wanted to trade for pick of litter on an upcoming litter, so we did. That little setter turned out to be one of the best dogs I’ve hunted behind. Beautiful, graceful, and style all in those ruffled feathered hairs. Boy i miss that dog.
