  1. Man those pictures look really great guys! Never knew they had rugged point and shoots.
  2. Than getting to fish with my kiddos. They grow up way to quick, and I'm trying to cherish every chance I get to have days like this. Few weekends ago we had a big cousins campout over at Rend lake in IL. Although we got rained on and it was a bit chilly for mid May we had a blast. I personally only caught a few bluegill, 1 Channel, and a small drum, but my Little crew caught some nice gills and made some memories. All of my girls have caught their first fish on my original Zebco snoopy rod my Grandma gave me as a kid. Thing is still going strong over 30 years old and a few rebuilds of the reel and it will always have a special place in our family. My oldest is quite the trout catcher and she can always put fish on a stringer! She's already a great fishing partner at 11 and hopefully we can get her a deer this year too. My middle ones 7 and she's the animal lover and will tolerate fishing with me, but would rather hang out and enjoy the outdoors, and my little one at 4 is catching on pretty quick. This was her 2nd time getting into some blue gill and catching them on her own. She's hooked as well now. Just thought I'd share, and take those kiddos fishing whenever you can! Forgot to add that the camp sites at Rend on the South Sandusky side are amazing. Great views spacious, quiet and reserved at night and just overall a great camping experience.
  3. Nice fish and baits BH!
  4. Wow, the girth on some of these fish lately has been crazy! Big ol slab right there. Great fish indeed.
  5. Congrats! I have a little Claire myself. Love the name.
  6. Nice stick. 6.5 send to be getting popular. Heard it's a great round.
  7. I'll be heading out next weekend for a big family camping outing at Rend lake. We are staying on the South Sandusky campsite area. I saw from the COE report that Crappie are biting, but wanted to see if anyone has been out and fished it lately? Hoping to catch some cats at night as well, do they have any size on them there? Haven't fished the lake since I was a kid. Thanks
  8. Colors on that bow are amazing and look how full that tail is. Very Nice!
  9. Awesome Pics, they sure do color up nice! Thanks for sharing.
  10. You are an inspiration to all of us BH. Thanks for sharing, and for all you give back.
  11. Takes a bit of the sportiness out of it, but was pretty neat to see them pull this off. Time to start hunting monster browns on Taneycomo LOL http://hackaday.com/2016/05/01/has-mankind-gone-too-far-with-drone-fishing/
  12. Never used a guide service down there, but there are a bunch. Hoepfully someone can recommend. Theres a ton of areas you can surf fish around there. And Okaloosa pier is right there as well. Was down there last year in May and fishing was pretty good. www.pensacolafishingforum.com also usually has a ton of good trip reports on what is biting and where. Good luck and bring us back some pics!
  13. Started out early this morning above the dam. The bite was on and the fish were hitting hard. Streams in pretty good shape. A tad low, but the rain tonight will fix that. Good clarity and didn't get too mossy till later this afternoon. White was the color for me today. Landed 34 almost all on a white silver plated jig in 1/16oz, and a 1/8 maribou Fish were good size and seemed extra feisty today. Rained a bit but not too bad. Overall a great day and beats working. I'll try to get some pics and vids up once I get the go pro dumped.
  14. Thanks for the report. I love fishing there during the week. We caught a few short browns as well last time we were down there. Heading down this weekend, hopefully the top water action keeps up.
  15. Way to go Mrs. BH! That's an awesome bird, and great story telling to boot. Thanks for sharing!
  16. I've fished the trophy area a bunch when the water was up... That's usually my luck when I get down there the water will be on You can usually wade along the banks in the trophy area taking your time and going slow with the flow around 5-6000cfs. Anything more than that and you are standing on the bank and even at 6k the water is up and moving so be careful. I will say I've caught some of my biggest rainbows at Taney while fishing the flow, wading out as far as I can get up by the dam cable and launching an 1/8oz jig out there as far as I can get it and then start bouncing it back in off the bottom. This is all on spinning gear. You can fish the actual outlets themselves with a fly rod, but its usually packed and they will get sore mouthed early and then the bite will slow down quick. You can fish Phil's dock and Cooper creek access docks, or if possible try to figure out the boat rental. Really is best of both worlds with a boat, with or without the water running. Further down lake we have tried wading back up in turkey creek, but the results weren't really worth the trip. As Flysmallie said if you are really seeking wade fishing then wait till water is off or hit the rivers. Good luck out there!
  17. Awesome picks BH! They really are neat to observe and are very graceful when they are not dropping down out of trees into your canoe LOL I too learned as a youngster that most venomous snakes will hold the head up out of the water, vs non-venomous snakes which just have a bit of their head poking out. Anybody know why that is or what causes it? Calling all reptile experts
  18. Yeah these guys will peck the glass as well. Crazy birds... We had a few coyotes a few years ago(maybe still around but been a while since I've seen them) which would hang out around our campus. I believe its what keeps them up so close and around the buildings. They'll perch on some of the higher floor window sills every once and a while too. They had a good hatch this year and last, there's around 15 or so now in there flock that hang out here.
  19. For all of you who didn't see any birds... These guys run around our campus here at work, and I believe with a handful of corn I could ring their necks LOL. They literally block the doors sometimes admiring their reflections.
  20. Nice report, looks like you guys were getting it done! Thanks for sharing.
  21. Looks like a water snake to me. Take them down to Bennett Springs when it warms up, they were stacked up in there thick last year... On a rock bed by one of the handicap accesses there had to be close to 60 or 70 of them out sunning themselves. Literally piles of them.
  22. Nice birds fellas!
  23. You can try a Pin reset. There is usually a small button on the back of the router or modem that you will need to take a ballpoint pin to to push it in and it will do a full factory reset on the device. Be advised though that this will usually clear out all of your account information and you will need to put you account name and password back in before your internet will be working again. Alternatively depending on how technical you are, you can usually log into the internal web page of the router and check the configuration in there. Usually pretty rare that just one page gets blocked like that. Good luck! and Google can is your friend for resetting and getting into the internal pages.
  24. Another nice brown, and those bows looked solid too. Nice job, and thanks for sharing!
  25. Wasn't a big drum just caught on a bow on TR? May have my lakes messed up
