  1. Oh man! Welcome Mrs. Folly! Sorry John... Those secret trips to the river where you are "on the road" working are gone the way of the dodo now LOL All joking aside I love her location status, and I'm pretty sure the fish in her picture is bigger than the one in yours!
  2. Nice job on those squirrels. Didn't do any tree Rat excursions this year, but I love eating them.
  3. I think I missed out on most of this thread. It's def an interesting topic. I get both sides of the argument. I've had CCW since it was first allowed here. I also felt the training was just a checkbox, and some of the folks in my particular class frightened me to think they would be out there carrying when some could barely understand the manual of arms on their own weapons, missing the target at 7 yrds, etc. I've taken a few defensive pistol classes and learned to shoot with my off hand, from a draw, and try to shoot regularly to keep my handgun skills sharp, but I know that doesn't make me a hardened battle veteran... These were decisions I decided that I needed to take in order to be proficient with my firearm if I was going to carry one. In 10 years I've only ever been in 1 situation where escalation to a point the safety was off has happened, and thankfully that turned out for the better. Agree with the need for training and education... Also agree that once our rights begin to be stripped away its a slippery slope...
  4. About this time of year with all the fishing talk going on my wife is ready to boot me out just so she doesn't have to listen to it anymore. I get my oldest kiddo in on it so we can team up on her!
  5. HAHA Have fun, stay safe, and I, like the others, await your reports of slaying sea monsters!
  6. Nice groceries indeed. I can neither confirm or deny the drool part We were plotting that if one of those guys happened to get a broken neck then there possibly could of been a smoked turkey breast for dinner this weekend.
  7. You ain't lying... 4 shooters there for sure. There is an old pure white headed Tom who is the ultimate ruler. Haven't seen him in a while, but hes the meanest oldest turkey I've ever seen.
  8. A few more pics
  9. I've posted a few pics here before of turkeys at my work. This morning 4 Tom's put on a show out my 4th floor window. 2 of them were locked up for close to 15min. I've seen them Battle before but nothing ever close to this duration VID_20170224_083854.mp4
  10. Nice Job John. Any time spent fishing with kiddos is a great time.
  11. Looks like they are still colored up nicely! Thanks for sharing.
  12. Yep, I could of rung a big Tom's neck the other morning when I was in early. Had to shoo him away and could of pulled his tail feathers out. I need to take pics with something better than these phones...
  13. They are in full strut here around my work campus. Have 3 shooters for sure... Now if I could just get corporate to sign off on my crossbow...
  14. Nice report! Beautiful pics. Looks like a blast. Also on my list of rivers to hit this year.
  15. Nice job BH. I'm on my 3rd year with my clicker. I still forget to click sometimes too... We only count trout, and it's always just for fun, but it is exciting keeping a record of all your catches. Not sure where all the hate for that comes from...
  16. @Phil Lilley Any negative impact to the fishing when they drop the lake like that? I wonder what the trophy area looked like with the water that low... Possibly some land locked fish at that point?
  17. Wife and I haven't celebrated Hallmark day since we got married. I remember one year before where I just walked in, grabbed a card, then left. When my wife was reading the card I realized my error in that she was not my "Ebony Queen"... Failboated that one pretty hard. I think that was the last V-day card I ever bought her LOL. I did cook her a nice Steak and grilled some shrimp, and even did some crab legs for me and the kiddos. A nice family dinner which was more special to us than a night out with the herds.
  18. Nice job again Ham. I gotta get back down there soon... Need a much required break from crazytown I call my life One thing I have done on my jig rig is run 3lb maxima. I've found I can sling the 1/32 pretty well on this line, and allot less break offs than when I run 2lb. I am using buggy whips though 4'6 fast action and I really rely on the whip to get it out there. Now if I could only find it more regularly in stores. I've bought it online before, but about the only place I see it on the shelves is BP in Springfield.
  19. I was following this on arfcom. There was a member there who was hiking up above to get some good aerial and he was also live streaming it. Crazy amount of water.
  20. Nice Ham. I got to get down there this year and catch me a cutt. Its on my list for this year
  21. Man that is a beast! I love learning new things on here. Never knew a gill would get that big. Bet they put up a great fight too when they get over that 2lb mark. I've caught some slabs before out of a pound, but don't think I've broken the 2 lb mark. Congrats and great pictures!
  22. Yeah, she's pretty good at trout. My other younger 2 still want nothing to do with em LOL. At least I got one tomboy out of my 3 girls
  23. Man I love those colored up fish.
  24. Fishing with my kiddos are my best trips. Things can get a little crazy like cat herding, and I rarely ever get a line in the water myself, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love seeing kiddo's not afraid to hold their own fish either. My oldest is starting to clean her own trout at 11 and it makes me a proud dad. Nice job CoolHandFluke!
  25. I almost went this same route. I was real close to getting the SIMMS G4 BOA boots. Just had to good of a deal to pass up on the Cabelas ones, and figured I'd give them a try for 1/3 of the price. I think once these boots blow out I will take the plunge and splurge a bit on them.
