  1. @Phil Lilley this sounds similar to what we saw with BB a while back only his was with logging in... Have you updated your router firmware? Windows updated, browser updated? What's your router and fiber modem model numbers? Have you tried a different laptop or phone and do they have similar issues? Phil does Bill still have that laptop maybe we could get it over to Bo to have him try on that? Sorry just seeing this.
  2. They really are unique pretty little specimen.
  3. Ok, so did we ever figure out where we're all staying? I've got the following in my motley crew of misfits Brandon H (cousin big spoon) Brandon K (Mr. Newly appointed Army Captain) Geno my BIL (the porpoising finger hook master) Ray Ray (my steadfast chef and beer fisherman) Kev ( Mr. Never quit always reliable) Myself (... insert witty name here...) Cuz will bring his boat but our 6 big posteriors surely will not fit in slow Bessie. We'll likely rent a boat for Geno to pilot (Lord help us there) We will need a place of rest however... QB or Eric just hollar at me with the plan. I can do some leg work too if need be.
  4. Fantastic looking trip there. I'm jealous as well. 3rd pic down looks like a western slope cutthroat! I love the spot patterns on those guys and found a few myself my last trip out west. Beautiful fish and thanks for sharing.
  5. Insane... that's just a huge sea monster there. Looks like the bars been raised for us here on Taney lol. 46.9lbs I heard
  6. You leave my precious unicorns out of this! Lol.
  7. Sorry bout the rain buddy... get mad at em! It's just hypothermia lol
  8. I'm pretty sure we could sell tickets Pete, put it up on pay per view lol
  9. Go get em buddy! Stinks about that dead brownie... and a diploid too... Hope you stick a live one that big today. So since your dads holding it I guess that counts as another brown over 20in in your boat hahaha
  10. As Ryan said theres about a jabillion variables that could go into this. Also ask your self if you really want to commit to a full day of slinging jerks. Im of the mindset if you really want to forget numbers and chase quality over quantity you better be prepared for a full day of work and force yourself to stick to it. I've put the jerk bait rod down to jig multiple times only to see a big fish I would of liked to sling a jerk bait at go by... in fast generation you have very small windows sometimes. It is very rewarding though getting crushed on a med light spinning rod with 10lb braid, my current method of choice, by a big trout. As for pointers, first hydrate and pre game some ibuprofen or aspirin. If you're not wore out and sore by end of day you need to jerk more lol Second as stated by Ryan bring a good optioned box with all different types of baits. Water conditions and depths change so be prepared to fish everything from super deep pools to shallow riffles. 3rd either invest in a lure retriever or be prepared to lose some sticks. You sometimes gotta get up in the timber and up by the bank and you're gonna get hung up. Gets harder for recovery in faster water... just part of the game. 4. I highly recommend you book a jerk bait trip with Duane. You'll learn more in the first hour then we could all ever try to explain here over text. I've tried to tell others how to night fish the jerks multiple times, but until they stand next to me in the water it finally allows it to click for them. Good luck with your trip, and don't be afraid to wander out at night. It's a different ballgame at night, but night time is the right time for us dark siders lol.
  11. Good luck Pete... stay hydrated and pound that vitamin C.
  12. Good looking water buddy. Glad you made it out.
  13. Dracula!!! One, two, three, ha ha ha
  14. That's a great summary Travis, and I totally feel the same. Reading reports or stories gives me a great break from the reality of work lol. As for rude fisherman I've come across a few, but I mostly end up hanging with others who are crazy like me and will chase them in the dark. I will say even that crowd has increased a bit, and I do take credit for that lol
  15. I def regret not fishing it more before I found this place. Maybe a handful of times prior to that...
  16. Sad pandas... I enjoy sharing my trips, but I guess it does increase the issue based on the views this site gets...
  17. Beautiful browns! Agree with Phil, good to see them and they all look healthy and colored up real nice. Congrats on some nice catching, and thanks for sharing
  18. What trips my trigger, many things really, but I simply want to always be fishing... Fishing is my escape from reality, it truly centers me and is such a euphoric high that every time I step out of that water I yearn to get back. The long drives blasting down 44 in the middle of the night, alone in my thoughts, feeling my heart race as I hit the strip on my way to Taney... God help me if I ever lose that feeling. That spark and anticipation, the waiting till morning to see my buddies. The sharing of showing how the darkness can be so calm and rewarding. The friendships made on the water. Filling up my life's memory books with time spent with family and friends. I live a blessed life and I'm grateful that I get to fish as often as I do, but it never seems enough. My life is racing by with no brakes, and I hope to never look back and regret not fishing more... I am simply living to fish right now. Wife, kids, work, are all more important, well maybe not the work, but it's a means to an end. The other half is the actual fish. I've fished since I was 4 or so. Years went by where I never touched a rod and it saddens me to this day, but there's fish all throughout my life that also are painted into my memory. I love them big and small, I probably chase sea monsters more than most, but it's not for the glory, it's for the satisfaction of seeing through the mission of going out and chasing those truly magnificent beasts. I love the fight, I love the panic and chaos of the dark night and not knowing what's on your line. I live for the crushing hits that rip your hand off the reel. I live for that moment you finally see them and bring them to hand. Salt has its own uniqueness but really it's about the same things. The memories, the people, the camaraderie, the story's to tell... The ocean is so big and vast, it almost feels like the darkness and it swallows me up, wraps me up in it where even out there with my boys I can go to my special place. It's like I said earlier just a natural drug for me. Guess I'm just ate up with it, but then most I get to meet on here seem to understand it. We're all fishermen, and we all live and love to fish.
  19. Congrats on the beautiful fish! Those secret spots sure do pay off don't they lol. I'm over due for another trip down myself...
  20. One day I'll get back down there and give that a try. Also want tarpon on fly rod... I'd have loved to get a rooster, but had to settle for non stop mahi this trip lol. We only did a 5hr Charter as well. Need to book a pure fishing trip down there, although I'd probably go further south to Patagonia
  21. Thanks guys, Yeah there were def schools of them all over the place. We stayed at RIU Palace in Cabo San Lucas. Nice place, great food that exceeded my expectations. It was clean and the pools and bars were always hopping, and I do love me some Mexican beer as long as I'm in Mexico...
  22. We had seals hop right into the boat for snacks on the way back. They were awesome and super friendly. And here's some dinner pics too. We had 5 big platters of tacos and mahi steaks
  23. So headed out last Friday for Cabo with some fam and friends. I've done Mexico before, but never the Pacific side. Not sure I'll go back to the gulf side after experiencing Cabo... It's beautiful out there and I felt allot safer than my previous trips to the gulf. We chartered a boat for Tuesday and sadly there was a big Marlin tournament going on, but our captain said the Dorado bite was hot and he could put us on the meat. We went quantity over chasing monsters this trip and it did not disappoint. We headed north in a rainstorm on a 31footer and my nephew and BIL Geno and another buddy were all along for the ride. We trolled skirted plugs they whole way out, and everytime we hit really nasty chop we'd have a rod or two go off. Mostly smaller mahis, but fun to catch and try not to get flung overboard lol. My nephew was up and had just got into the fighting chair when he broke off a big one. I followed but landed a nice 35lb bull. We did this all morning and had twice where we had 4 rods all hooked up and just running controlled chaos on the boat lol. My nephew ended up with big fish about 40ishlb bull that the crew said was a Hawaii strain and he changed to a beautiful silver and white in the kill box. Just a beautiful fish and then soon turned back to green and yellow when he expired. Wss a great day for sure. Came back with 14 which was the limit and caught many more. We kept 5 and had them filleted and it was enough fish to feed our party of 19 and feast we did on fish tacos and blackened steaks that our chef made at the resort for us. Nothing beats fresh fish.
  24. Man people really night fish on Taneycomo!?! Nice fish Phil, I had a bat get caught in my braid, but I was able to rescue him.
  25. Parts of Remington were sold off to other manufacturers. Ruger, and the holding company that owns Palmetto State Armory... Remington was producing hot garbage there in the end... Crap firearms and dangerous ammo with piss poor QC all over the board. I had a batch of .223 that would of kaboomed due to improper neck crimp and bullet setback. Was a PITA getting that replaced only to sell off. They simply needed to die off or seriously overhaul their business model. I guarantee someone will get the ammo machines back up and running of they aren't already hopefully with better QC.
