  1. This is a very tragic event. We will pray for everyone affected. I can see this from my deck and there are still recovery operations going on now. Mike
  2. Bill, thank you for the information. Great pictures and sounds like you guys had a wonderful time fishing in this heat. Mike
  3. Connor, thanks for the information and great pictures. Are you now in charge of the fee jar on the dock with the green roof? Mike
  4. Bill & Bo, thank you both the the information. I too have not been able to get on the water for the past month. So I have been fishing vicariously through both of you. The details and the pictures you provide are priceless. Mike
  5. Exactly. Mike
  6. bobby b, thanks for the information. Great pictures. Mike
  7. I went to my 50th high school reunion last weekend in STL. I promised myself that I would not join in conversations where the folks talked about their health, aches, pains, medication and surgery. I wound up sitting by myself near the bar. Mike
  8. I’ve been reading this thread and the question I have is “What’s a Ned?” Mike
  9. RB, There’s plenty of things you can’t do as fast or as often in your 60s that you did in your 40s. But fishing slower baits is not one of them. Mike
  10. abk, waste of time to fish that dock anyway! Mike
  11. Bill, thanks for the report. The pictures say it all. Mike
  12. Quill, thanks for the information. Great pictures. Thanks for picking up the trash Mike
  13. I agree and wish a happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers and those that bring meaning to a child’s life. Instill values in the children. Today at Mass the priest said, “ give a person a fish and he eats today. Teach him to fish and he will eat forever.” Thank you to all the folks on this forum for all you do to share your knowledge Mike
  14. Dave, thinking and praying for you and your family. Mike
  15. Dave, that picture says it all. Know that we are all thinking and praying For your family. Mike
  16. abk, thanks for letting me know you’ll be down here this weekend. I’m gonna head to STL to avoid the flying jig heads around the dam. Good luck. I’ll be waiting to read the report and see the pictures. Actually, I’m going to STL for the high school musical theater awards at the Fox, presented by the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation. My daughter is the exec director of the foundation and they honor high school musical theater departments. Mike
  17. I use a MH rod with 20 lb flouro and a 10 lb leader about 2’ Long. I use a glass bead above and below the weight then a barrel swivel befor the leader. I usually use a 6” lizzard in watermelon red flake. But I certainly am open to suggestions. Mike
  18. rps, nice pictures and sounds like a good couple of hours of topwater fun. Mike
  19. bo, yes but it was during the slime period in the dam area so not much luck. Now that we’ve got a summer pattern here I will be bottom bumping waiting for that thump-thump. Mike
  20. Bo, I agree about the versatility of a jig. But have not caught a jig fish yet this spring. I know it will happen and I keep experimenting with different sizes and colors. Mike

    My wife

Gary, peace to you and your family. Mike
  22. Bill, thanks for the information, I experienced the same thing. I went out of moonshine this morning at 5:45am. I found the same thing in Jakes creek. Caught one keeper SM on a plopper. Missed a couple others that blew up on it. Saw the first wake boat at 6:30 am water was a sheet of glass with not even a small ripple. I think it is turning over too. Decided to get off the water at 9:15 am. It was very August like weather out there today. Mike
  23. kdc, nice pictures. Sounds like you had a good time. Gotta love that topwater bite. Mike
