  1. What shoes are those? I'm about as bad about buying boat shoes as I am about buying spinnerbaits. Also, I was in one of those tourney boats on the 5th. The lake felt like driving through a washing machine most of the day!
  2. Hunter, you'll be close enough to Mountain Home that you'll find a bunch of good places to eat over there as well.
  3. Good to know I wasn't in trouble or something!
  4. So it sounds like it's just going to flow on through?
  5. Although, weights were back to normal at the Cape Fair Club yesterday. 9.81 on 4 fish to win. Go figure the day I can't go...
  6. Last year's formula is not working so far for me.
  7. Had a good time fishing the Wednesday buddy tournament with the Cape Fair Bass Club yesterday. I think there were 15 boats and it took a little over 17lbs on a 4 fish limit to win. Supposedly the big bag came from way up above Cape in super shallow water (2-3ft) all on jigs. They had 3 5lbers from the same little cut according to those guys. We had a little over 12 lbs on our 4. All were on a Molix blade and Rapala Scatter Raps. The crankbait fish were not on the back hook either. They were eating it and just t-boning it. Threw the A-rig a little bit, but couldn't stop getting bit by 10 inch whites so we put it away and went to what seemed to be working. It never really stopped raining, so I didn't take very many pics. We saw a ton of eagles and ospreys all carrying fish. All in all a pretty great day. Hope I can get all of my gear dried out sometime this century. WT 57-62.

  9. I found these yesterday. I feel like they got moved out there again lately. I went all the way to the back of that a few weeks ago.
  10. I fished with a buddy that was using these yesterday. He doesn't really use a plastic trailer and I didn't think that he got hung up as much as someone would with a straight shank trailer hook. That being said, the Molix in Neon Charmer was doing work yesterday and smoking whatever he was throwing anyway.
  11. Unless there was a sign from the MDC or the Corp, I'd go right back in there. They don't own the water.
  12. Throw a keitech in the tops of those trees. A-rigs too.
  13. I haven't seen it up around Kimberling City.
  14. I only add a trailer hook if I have consistent short striking fish. I've gotten much more brave as to where I'll throw one and just don't like getting the trailer hook hung up all of the time. Having said that, I've used one a few times out this year because the fishing has been so weird. I almost always have a plastic trailer of some kind to give the body bulk and feel like I get them on the main hook much more as a result of that. To answer the question about the tubing, I usually put it over the eye of the hook and thread it on that way. I've recently stumbled upon Molix spinnerbaits and absolutely LOVE them. I've never used a trailer hook on them and they have great hook up ratios. Molix and War Eagle are all I'm throwing these days.
  15. You should hire him sometime. Great guy and very knowledgeable. You'd probably get more out of time on the water with him than watching a video anyway.
  16. https://www.flwfishing.com/news/2018-04-20-table-rock-midday-update-day-2 I read this yesterday and was pretty surprised that they were finding bed fish at all.
  17. I'm more interested in the FLW Costa release boat!
  18. It looks like most of the guys with good bags are notorious crankers and spinnerbait guys too.
  19. I see my buddy Brent Algeo is about 5lbs back. Looks like some solid bags yesterday. I think you guys are right though. 15-16lbs a day will win right now.
  20. BPS in Springfield has a whole row of Bucoo rods.
  21. I also like a Lew's TP-1. There's a Ned specific one and then a drop shot/shakey head one I really like both of them. I also have an old Fenwick HMG that's probably 20 years old that I like. Not a fan of the Abu Garcia Veritas one that I have though.
  22. How many boats were in your tourney? I fished AiA on Sunday with I think 97 boats and it felt like there were an insane amount of people from Indian Point all the way to Long Creek. At one time we counted 16 boats in Jake's Branch.
  23. It was pretty brutal. I thought that it was worse later though. The bite disappeared around 10 am for us and the wind kicked up pretty bad. I grew up in the mountains of Colorado, but that was a long time ago!
  24. No wonder I was frozen solid yesterday morning. It sure didn't seem like it was 14 miles to the dam from KC. It definitely doesn't seem 9 1/2 miles to Aunt's either. My mind is blown if this is all true. I running wide open at 68-74 mph skews it some.
  25. Last summer we were just moving the sign and launching off of the road down there!
