I grill out year round and the biggest issue is changing conditions. Cold and wind can kill your heat pretty quick. I'd consider that Ooni if you could use it for other things like a steak or chicken. They cook them but use a pan.
I've bailed my older kids out a couple times. No problems, they settled up when they said they would. Sometimes when you're just starting out, things happen and you need a little help.
Anybody ever consider one of the Ooni pizza ovens? I've done a bunch on my Weber kettle but I used store bought crust form the hill. I have a fear of ruining dough.

Actually we have thinned the herd from the early years. When a guy only gets once a year from his wife and he sits down at the campfire with an 18 pack and a bottle crown...Lookout!
Beside what @fishinwrench said, 8 guys on any one stretch of those rivers is a lot.
Of course I don't know who the heck Wrench fishes with but our group isn't like that.

I'm telling you we have been questioning the corps on this issue since the 70's. You would think in that amount of time, a pattern or reason would have emerged....But nope. It hasn't.
