  1. ...or perhaps the current record holder presented a larger gift $$$ to the department, than the new guy.
  2. They probably took note of your skepticism in your original post above....and decided they better take a 2nd look!
  3. I believe you. 😬
  4. Missouri is walking back the ID of this fish. Now saying it is NOT a pure-strain shortnose: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/missouri-department-of-conservation-strips-fish-of-world-record-status/ar-AA10Xc4u?ocid=hplocalnews
  5. I just did the math (based on guesstimated ages), @BilletHead....you got married when you were just a year old?? 😁 I suspect @Johnsfolly waited until he was 5! 😁
  6. Thanks @Johnsfolly ! I have a VERY long history of ALWAYS taking the day off and going fishing on my birthday. And fishing usually turns out to be very good! This year it didn't happen. I took the day off work, but it was to get my son's college stuff loaded up into my vehicle and his vehicle, and move him back to Truman. Did not fish the entire weekend. 😐 Oh...and yesterday was our 29th wedding anniversary. We both forgot.
  7. Tried again. Clearer water, very spooky fish. NO grass carp this time! Ouch! One catfish, both sides....so many spots! Gar with a broken lower jaw, hanging on by skin.
  8. Got out after work yesterday evening. Also caught a largemouth bass (not pictured).
  9. If I come home from fishing, and I don't smell like fish....that's probably a bad sign. 🦨
  10. @Ham is a wizard. I believe he could catch a 28 lb largemouth bass out of a coffee thermos. 😁 probably already has. More than once. @BilletHead What fly rod do you use for Blue Cats?
  11. When you REALLY have to horse 6"-7" bluegills out of the lilly pads and brush piles, maybe? 😅 Yeah, saltwater is what it would be for. Like @Ham said...sharks, jumbo tarpon, alligator gar, goliath grouper, billfish, big mahi maybe...tuna, maybe big reds. How about for jumbo Blue Cats and Flatheads? Most likely I wouldn't need a 12 wt...I'd likely be fishing with a guide for most of those saltwater species, and hopefully could use their gear. I recently bought a new 9wt... mainly for Striped Bass, but might put that to use on some of these other species too.
  12. @kjackson What price are you asking?
  13. @Ham should 200% buy it. So I can BORROW it.
  14. Apparently you haven't seen the size of the Creek Chubs, sculpins, and Bleeding Shiners I catch. 😜
  15. These are 2 different individual Grass Carp:
  16. I've owned 2 (used) Lund side console semi-V boats. Great boats for sure. I'm not sure of the price difference in used boats, but Alumacraft are also very good boats.
  17. Hm. These are the same pictures as the links above. They worked just fine, as usual, this time.
  18. @Johnsfolly Do these photos show up for you, or just the links? I attached them exactly like I usually do, when it automatically changes the URL links to photots...but this time it is just keeping the links...at least that's how it looks on my end.
  19. Its fun to go and recognize "old friends" swimming around in there. They definitely get smarter each time they get caught. My usual presentation didn't produce many fish. The fly that caught the most this time was an unweighted #10 white woolly bugger, no indicator.

  21. 10 Koi and 8 Goldfish in 2 hours yesterday evening. LOTS of refusals. I need to figure out some new fly patterns to fool 'em.
