  1. I use two methods, one, I have a jeep with a tow bar, that is the best just drop either way, can still put stuff in truck or jeep and lock up. My other is a Yamaha TW 200, it is the new version of a enduro, street legal trail ready, and a hauler in the receiver hitch, works well but usually at a private place to leave my stuff at one end or the other, but have hid canoe etc in brush. Both work well but a buddy is better, most times. We also haul the TW in the receiver hithch in the camper to Colorado, I can get up and go Elk hunt or fish and my wife can sleep in and drive down to town if she likes. g
  2. not smart enough to even ask, Peg and i will be there to listen and learn.
  3. Throw this out there, I have done fly tying demos at this show in the past, usually end up taking more stuff home than I swap or sell: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hunt-Fish-Swap/143768619004074 It is for a good cause. g
  4. Have one front one rear you will want some type of protector on the high dollar transducer especially on TM some guys get the 798 and buy a extra base and transducer move it from console to frt on stop. Take a look at bass boat central forum lots of ideas
  5. I have always been a Lowrance guy but they were having problems when I took the plunge into SI. For me the bird is less complicated, but not as good of image. I splurged and bought the 798 figured that would be the only one I would ever need. Unfortunately my wife and I liked it so well we added the 1198 a month later. Do not think you will go wrong with either brand, think you can find a 598 in your price range. The SI under those docks at LOZ.... good stuff.
  6. Amen May the Lord keep my words gracious and kind-So tomorrow I do not have to eat them.
  7. Next weekend, posted schedule under fishing events. Wife and I are going to try to go, unless the weather is good enough to fish.....
  8. I am planning on buying some of the drop shot weights from Lilley's Fly shop and giving them a try. From what Phil expalined you can double the line to connect them, then when hung they will pull loose, allowing you to loose only the sinker. The only time I use them is when taking guests that generally do not know how to fish. Having used the 3 way swivel and the surgens knot, I prefer the surgens knot. The other thing I do is tie a prefection loop in the end of my lines, and use a loop to loop conection so I can change the rigs quickly. When I have 3 novices in the boat they can go through lots of rigs. So, I tie up a bunch the day before and wrap them around a piece of cardboard, (actually I use a cylinder with velcro) and can keep everyone fishing.
  9. here is this year:
  10. I have one on a 9.9, works fine as long as you slow down as Wrench says. On one occasion it hung a rock between the prop and the river runner, but at my "idle " speed just killed the motor. That said, if you want to try one, I may have one to fit your 40 it is new, put a jet foot on my 25 never installed it. Will sell for 1/2 new price if interested..... g
  11. Duane, Having only spent 2-3 weeks of my life up there, having some friends up there. I would like your thoughts, as you spend many weeks per year up there, guys like you and Phil need to be our beacons, as you are respected in our community. Before I was there, was opposed to any developement, after, in favor as long as done properly as most "locals" are. Your Thoughts? And Phils?
  12. Was at the Springfield store last Friday. The only priceing issue I have ever encountered. The tag on the shelf said "new lower price" 11.90 on some wool socks. At the register they came up 16, I questioned it, they price checked the department "they had just went off sale" but they gave me the lower price since the tag was still up?????? There prices on Thoro and Smart Wool socks better than others. Their Plano water proof guide boxes much lower than Bass Pro. So I say, go but keep an eye out for not updated scans???
  13. Sorry everyone, my post of the schedule yesterday was for last year. Schedule not posted that I can find for this year. Sorry.

  16. We should be posting for railroad conductors in Centralia IL for a class starting 2/24 for 5 positions. WWW.bnsf.com/careers under transportation. Just throwing it out there, do not know if it will be steady or if they will have to move around some the first few years. If you are willing to relocate to Minot they will give me a bonus for finding you....we need folks in the oil area bad. g

  18. Joe I have no idea, a shrimp boat captian told me about Choke when I was in Galveston. Never been there, but it is supposed to be about 60 there today, so regardless of water I would rather be there than here. We are hoping to get on some crappie as well. les

With Tohatsu’s new 35hp Jet Drive TLDI® you can reach waters that are difficult to reach with a propeller-driven outboard. Equipped with a factory-installed jet drive, this new engine uses the power of our 50hp TLDI® and is also backed by a 5 year limited warranty.
