Well @BilletHead suggested I chime in....although the ignorance of myself and my family is embarrassing. We have a number of skillets that came in on a covered wagon from Oklahoma shortly after my Great-Great-grandfather got out of prison for shooting his neighbor's ear off over a property line dispute. My Great Grandmother Hatie, who was a half Native American midwife would often put the skillets in the fire to clean and start over. It all worked fine until my wife bought one of these glass top electric stoves..... we discovered every darn one of them spins like a top from a warped bottom. Still use them to make cornbread in the oven, and in the camper and on campstove. saddens me that our old skillets are damaged. We now have some skillets from Marty to use on the glass top. We have also bought a couple from the Lodge Factory Outlet store in Pittsburg, TN they took some work to overcome the rough seasoning they put on them but were inexpensive and work well. We have several dutch ovens, both with legs and without that are newer and they work fine, I notice a lot of the newer dutch oven cooks use some type of liner... I have not to this point. We do have one aluminum dutch oven we use to make the red Sause chili on the smoker, it would damage the seasoning on the iron. Long story short, do not put your pan in the "coals"

I think the Tiggers are playing football tonight

The way he manages the clock on field goal tries he may have had a stroke or something. The first time a learning experience....the second for a guy at that salary level??????? Likely a new SEC record inside Jerry's barn with no wind? -
Hey Sandy, @laker67yes I met him on a few occasions, fish with .... not really but he handed me some flies a time or two and instructed me. I am more stand back and observe person. I know Murphy, Stubby and Michael Kyle from fly tying demonstrations (I am a hack but they let me tag along) Maybe we all make the "Taneyfest" next month. I know @BilletHead and @Mrs. BilletHead are fans of the book.

Went back today, similar pattern and results, but more folks. Only guys that I seen do better was a gentleman slip bobbing minnows and a local kid (I did not witness just heard him bragging to his buddies) got 13, in a dock stall....with a cast net.....😁The money I could have save on FFS.

We will bring a dessert (Ladybears special) 5 lb of all beef hotdogs and buns. A chimney charcoal starter (I hate the taste of lighter fluid) and ??? anything else needed.... leaving off the weather as @BilletHead has convinced me that if the weather is bad he will show me how to scour flea markets.....🤪

Had some chores in the morning and it was cold. Launched at Bridgeport (Cape Fair) the new truck has steps for short fat guy to use bed to access boat, at 1215, water temp 50 a bit windy. Some person put a dock on top of my best brush pile..... too far under to shoot. Found fish on the LS scattered in tree tops in 25-30 fow, tried vertical jigging, no love. Moved found more fish no go. Backed off, threw a monkey milk body on a 1/16 road runner head, not fast and furious but enough bites to keep me there until 1600. 5 nice keepers, smallest 11 1/4" wind let up great day to be out.

It is a good unit, DJ, Seth, and ??? shared it one trip -
Gave Pomme a go yesterday for crappie. Due to the temps did not get on the water until 1100. Water temp 51, lake down a bit, 837.8. Had a report from a friend (who owns a tackle store) they were biting baits 8-25 FOW near structure. Think he is selling lures, I lost plenty. The bite is lite, but only 3 keepers, fish were in the brush or suspended off structure. Was a beautiful afternoon to be out. Talked with a couple guys who were using the same pattern as I was, except with minnows.....They had a limit. May try again tomorrow. g

Put in at State Park about 1030 waited for it to warm a bit. Tried throwing a road runner monkey milk and vertical jigging all fish came on road runner. Fish were near and in structure on the FFS. If the length limit was still 9" would have had 2 plus limits, but it is not so came home with an empty live well. Most fish were in 20-30 FOW about 12-15' down. The wind was a bit brutal, but warmed up and just great day to be out. Face was wind burned but worth it. Sorry I did not note water temp. tight lines g

@Terrierman Since the flood the ole gal ain't what she used to be, you can pick a spot and run it now.

I run a 20-52 alweld with a 50-25 jet(yeah I know) works well on the White, Norfork (with 1 unit) and Taney. I ran a glass river boat with a jet for about 20 years with a jet, 10 without. Only issue with my 20-42 river boat was shallow side depth, on taney the big bass boat guys could make it a bit dicey. It would float through stuff my alweld won't but the Alweld will power through stuff the glass boat won't . As @gotmuddy says at minimum flow a yak is the only answer on Norfork, and a couple places are pick your way through. I do not have many issues with sucking rocks, but leaves in the fall and coontail moss in the summer can be a challenge (do not take my jet to Little Red, bad things man bad things) I went with tiller steer for not only boat room but do not have to buy one of those steering wheels thing of a bobs.
