Plateau Fly Shop has replaced Backcountry, they are located on S. Campbell next to Fin and Feather on the west side just north of Battlefield. (Do not remember how long ago Back Country moved from the Battlefield location) There is also a great BBQ/Smoker store in the center.... good place to stop.

"He" Did not place them, the National Forest employees did. It is the Piney Wilderness, part of the National Forest System, he happens to own property that was homesteaded so is exempt, he can operate motorized to get to and on his property.

Wilderness area no motorized on land or water except the guy who owns the 11 acres back there.

Not sure where to start, hoping someone has experience with old photos. I have most of the pieces of an old poster from my Great Grandfather, J.A. Gamble of a jack (Joe) he was offering services in the early 1900s, it is in sad shape. I was wanting to reconstruct and make some copies. I have a letter from Congressman Dewy Short inquiring about such. It would make a nice set with the one from my Grandfather, Jim Wilson and his jack (Ben) Can anyone point me in a direction to get the poster roughly reconstructed? Thanks

Well although as not as fancy as you all, here is the finished product just so you know we finished the job, all in cast iron...but we did use the fancy pot for the beans:

Well I am not as fancy as most of you all but the cold snap brought out some pinto beans to soak overnight, in the pot to cook all day with a country ham shank and some scraps, fry a few taters a skillet of cornbread good eatin tonight. For clarity, that is Lady Bear's fancy coated cast iron pot.

As @Flysmallie says Gilbert to Maumee is a good fish/float, watch the water levels, most of the river is pretty good early in the year, in the summer the entire river is a zoo especially on the weekends.

Fished upper Osage yesterday, rigging minnows in 12-23 FOW fish seemed scattered water temp 50s seen some 58 in back of a pocket. Have concealed the GPS info on pic as it might be within air gun range of a certain mechanic who frequents this site and I am kind of a dinosaur. Did encounter a school of whites and one of those mutt hybrids that Wrench refers too, Would have took pictures but it is a rather traumatic event rigging, ... have the bloody scared hands to show for it. Afterwards a friend had a limit out of one well under a slip bobber and minnow. It is getting better but this darn weather. This post has been promoted to an article
