  1. Jim - that really sucks! You really find out how good your bank is during times like this.....like others have said a CC is the way to go....I have a BPS MC and late last year I got a call from those folks telling me that a new card was on the way because of a hacking.....the next day it showed up! When the old statement came I could see where there was a charge from Walmart in AK for some electronic items....never had to pay for these! 176 - there are many ways to get a CC with no credit....just ask my son bottom line you upfront the cash and that is your limit....it did help him get his credit back in line when his banker....Mom...closed his "account" C4F
  2. I fished from late Wed to Sat mostly on the north side from the Chalet (what ever the name of that cove is) to Indian Point and the fishing was fair....caught a few on the rock crawler, Ned and then Saturday...which was foggier that I have ever seen it on the lake!....I went back tot eh same area and ZERO!!! so I thought WWBBD and I tied a spoon on....yes it was a Dixie Jet 1/2 oz in silver! and went dock to dock casting in the back and letting it drift back to me....they normally hit when the spoon was at the front of the dock....30' FOW and caught these guys in the Chalet docks!! What was crazy is that when I caught one the school was following it!! And I didn't even have my jersey nor my buff on! But I did have my 100 MPH stuff on so I am sure that is what attracted them!! Caught many sub keepers in between....never really counted the total but it was fun.
  3. OK - I am in.....not going to dork around this year and lose the rod opportunity!! Already have my jersey picked out and will get the little woman to iron it....light on the starch.....dont want to inhibit my casting form or cause chaffing in those sensitive areas..... and have an appointment to get the boat wrapped! Depending on funds I may only be able to afford wrapping the steering wheel this year but it is a start! Just not sure where I want the tattoo yet....lower back to cover the crack maybe? I talked to my sponsors and they are going to send me a bunch of stuff equal to my stellar performance the last couple of years. I am sure that the 'ole mail box will be full of Ploppers, Neds and Nutechs soon! C'mon April!!! Special Note: the preceding was a big fat fishing lie..other than I really did sign up!!...stay fishy my friends! C4F
  4. Bill - you must be right...I read the Bass Master article and it talks about how these guys really had to work for their fish and for most all of the keepers were caught before 9 a.m.- I was also surprised at how many blanked....heck I do that on a regular basis!! C4F
  5. Everything is hungry this time of year!! Nice catch C4F
  6. Phil - Dang it! Now that is just plain mean talk - threatening a fellow fisherman like that! Dont make me make up some story to cover up. Jerry - I have a drawer full of "free" t's....it was the shipping and handling that costs ...regarding the retie issue....please! Did you not read the post about how many rods to have on the deck of your boat?? I have to have that many ready as mister 5 thumbs here has a real hard time tieing line on any lure, running the t-motor so that I wont run into anything trying to not have to use the tried and true method of hook removal using fishing line.....then hope the knot was good enough that when you cast it back out that you can actually retrieve it and not see your line go limp....I read on Google that happens to guys sometimes. Note to self - be careful how you search for that information C4F
  7. Then there are days when you are older and you post the same thing multiple times...losing the ole memory is a b*tch or your pointer finger has an uncontrollable twitch - just giving you a bad time old plug! Cindyjo - you are missing the point...it isn't simple ....I have my wife convinced that it is a must to have good electronics....no 12" is not to big.... in screen size.... and a boat just the right size...yes longer is better.... not to mention that a bait named watermelon flake purple juice IS different from watermelon flake purple...I mean really!? do we need to have this conversation again!! I, along with many others on here, will not tolerate the intolerance of making fishing somewhat complicated so that we can preserve our right to buy double whopper floppers in a variety of colors!!! Or the next Ron Popiel rod in a pocket and that one handed fish cleaning gizmo....for the record all fish were C&R during the writing of this post...sure the live target baits that have all those little baits squished together in one lure to look like a poor mans A-rig ( what genius came up with that one!) were a flop....but hey we all thought they looked cool....and to decide which spinner bait is better...the gold bladed one or the other gold bladed one!? And I will not be seen picking my baits out of.....I almost cannot say it.....the center aisle bins at BPS (with out wearing dark glasses and a hat)...that is where the uneducated buy! I have earned the right to get my Tackle warehouse "free" t-shirt! with only a small $50 purchase. Whew! got me a little riled up and now I am going to have to parental lock my confuser so my wife cannot read this post!! C4F O and have a GREAT weekend everyone!!!
  8. OK - what did we miss? Or is this one of those obscure posts that baits the unknown reader to post questions? ....dang it!! Or maybe he is giving out autographed jerseys?? C4F
  9. icky,icky,icky thought C4F
  10. This is a great example of "squirrel" as it relates to responding to a forum question C4F
  11. So if nobody answered how do you know if it worked? Just busting your chops! C4F
  12. Great report! And that is one thing that I found while I was down there a week ago.....2lb line is a must! But dropping the GoPro.....man that really sucks....I hope that you will be able to recover it. C4F
  13. Champ you keep talking like that and you will be cooking for yourself all week!!! C4F
  14. Wrench you may be right....my wife loves to fish.....but man does she talk ALOT when we are fishing...."look at this" Look at that" - All I want to look at is my line to see if it is jumping - O yeah I can say all of this because she does not read the blogs! I think it is one of those times = what happens on the rock stays on the rock! C4F
  15. I will be registering....EARLY this year as I lost out on the rod last year as I procrastinated ....I think as soon as folks heard Champ was registered last year it was like a mad rush! C4F
  16. Evidently you missed the day in Bible class where they taught the second commandment But we all know that of which you speak! C4F
  17. It has been raining all morning here in the dam area - putting a damper on my mojo in wanting to get out and fish! Now I have to decide where to go after it stops....I really want to try out my NEW double whopper plopped....they box says I will be really pleased by all of the fish I will catch or none of my money back!!....BTW if you are launching out of State Park today be aware there is some kind of event going on from 10-6 It looks like it will be a mad house around here!! C4F

  19. Bo - are you going to put any spin jigs in at Cletus? I did like your selection of jigs when I was in there the other day - so much so I bought a few!! C4F
  20. OOOOO - now I get it!! Things that make you go hmmmmm Thanks Quill C4F
  21. OK - now that the weekend is almost over I will post my report....fishing partly great to outstanding. For a few weeks I have been watching the blogs for advice and when I read Phil's last report about the Berkley power worm I ran out to my favorite sports store and grabbed a few bags. Arrived here Friday late and rigged up with 2 lb line a float and one of the worms pinched off. I did not have a 1/100 jig head so I used a 1/64 trout magnet head - unloaded at Coopers and fished to Lilleys - caught 4.... Saturday fished early and really did well...couple dozen +/- best fishing was early from Fall Creek to Lilleys. Sunday went to the rock because some friends were down and the wanted to Bass fish.....early on I knew they were not Bass fisher people....they couldn't ID a bait caster! Long story short these two snagasaures had a good time. Back to Taney - Monday a.m. Out at 6:15 started at Fall Creek....had 15 by the boat ramp and I will not tell you what the total count was when I finally came in. Easy peasey - just watch your depth and set your float accordingly so the bait is close to the bottom....strikes were very light and you really had to pay attention. After the sun got up I would actually watch the trout take the bait then I would set the hook....I couldn't tell you how many times they had it in thier mouths and then spit it out!! And thank you to the lady in pink that kept yelling at her kids in the boat.....I don't think your son dropped his rod overboard I think it was trying to run for its life!! C4F
  22. I do not know what PUP is....remember I have the finest education that Nebraska can afford so..... C4F
  23. Well I went and checked out Cletus and Extreme - Cletus Tackle Box is a nice store with just a few items but growing and he does have minnows etc. Nice chatty guy - and I did buy his first Nu Tech's from him - at least that is what he told me :] Bo put in a nice starter selection I think tha he will do well - Dave I did tell him that he needed your product in his store and gave him your information. Extreme is a nice place with a ton of inventory for only being open 10 weeks! Had a good conversation with the Manager, a great down to earth kind - Ex BPS guy....interesting scenario....while at BPS he was the fly guy but no fly stuff in the shop and now he sells Bass stuff but doesn't fish anymore! I guess in some crazy universe that works OK - back to fishing C4F
  24. That guy sounds really crabby....but we all have a right to voice our opinion as long as we don't attack others for theirs c4f
  25. OK - I went to Cabela's here in Omaha .....and they only had two bags of 3" power trout worm in pink which is what I think that you are saying they are biting on....pricey little things at $4.99 / bag but it says there are 15 in each bag. Be there in 4.75 days C4F
