Lilley's Lake Taneycomo Fishing Report, November 18
crazy4fishin replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
With the change in the weather coming the week of Thanksgiving it will be interesting to see how the trout react! C4F -
I use these and they are easy peasy when it comes to moving the float...retying....etc. C4F

Great report and it looks like you are "growing the sport" with that crew you have!
-
Bill you are right on about the jig and area i.e. long gravel points........ went today and there was a "reasonable" top water until the fog lifted then they wanted to stay deeper. That is when the jig and the drop shot came into play....we probably caught 20 or so before it got to hot since there was no wind. C4F

Missouri State Record Brown Trout!
crazy4fishin replied to Bill Babler's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Well done!! C4F -
I was able to get out early today - a lot of fog as you would expect given the temps. I went just past Short Creek, right before the boat ramp, staying on the side with the houses and let the current take me down to Trout Hollow. I threw a brown, sculpin jig towards the bluff wall into the deeper water giving it a pop as I retrieved it, much like what Phil and Duane do on One Cast. I really got into into the numbers and better size but it was off and on, not steady like yesterday. Side note, I had to laugh as there were two guys in an aluminum boat that decided to plant them selves, as in anchor, right out from short creek....and as the numbers of boats increased they would move from one bank to the next.... I think they were the boat traffic calming device....much like a round about. I came in for a few as the traffic picked up and decided to take a young couple that I had met a couple of days before out as they were having no luck off the dock.....that is what happens when you are fishing for trout using a cat rod!! We went up just barely past Trout Hollow and I put him on the jig and gave her the Float / Power worm rig.....for never fishing that kind of rig nor trout she really schooled us two guys....pun intended....I felt a bit sorry for her husband as she was really enjoying catching more than him!!! So yeah the PW and Float is still the deal out there!!! Stay safe and have fun C4F

Really?....I just came in for bacon other wise I would be making another pass....I probably caught 15+ from 6:30 till now. The brown and sculpin jig was hot for me in the same places I noted....the best was in front of the docks. By the condos.... C4F -

Labor Day weekend report
crazy4fishin replied to snagged in outlet 3's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Good report Jester - I fished just below the Trophy area to Lilley's yesterday morning....water temp was in the mid 50's when I started. The bite was steady and there were flurries in areas that I drifted by. I used the pink worm under a float....float depth depending the water depth. Then would switch up to a ginger and brown jig and that was crazy good. It really and I mean really started to get busy in that area so after a short break I decided to work my way from Lilley's towards the Landing. From here down the jig in the color mentioned was the cat's meow!! I was fishing the bank on the North side as much as possible.... The crazy thing was the numbers....not so much the size...even though there were some chunky ones....and fight!!. And to top it off many times I was the only boat in the area until I got to around Monkey Island to the Landing. Moral of the story - there is fish in every area.... Stay safe out there today C4F -
Great report Ryan - I appreciate the pictures and the detail.....I am due to come down in 7 days and 8 hours! I tell ya that Duane and jerkbait combo is the cats meow! I dont know what his secret is but I think that he is the trout whisperer......I went with him one morning and he flat kicked my butt....and we were fishing the same set up! There was a point where he put his rod down and I swear I saw 2-3 come to the boat wondering where he was! C4F

I would take what Bo, Quill and M&M said and work all of that into an overall plan......like you I had a tendency to spend to much time in one spot while "thinking" there are Bass under the boat!! Today I do try different baits, presentations and depths while fishing. Then set an internal time and leave going to a new place. Through the forum and other sites I developed a better understanding of what my expensive time and water temp devices were really telling me!! C4F

fishin is right.....I do read some of the reviews when I am looking to buy or go some where.....most people will be able to discern very quickly when a crack pot is posting vs. a real review of the product or service. And if they can't you dont want them anyway 🙂 C4F

Nice work and great fish!! I am truly jellyous as I struggle to get out on a regular basis!! C4F
-
That was great to watch! I had to laugh when you said you were shaking.....It was truly hard to tell 🤔 Now, if it was one of us bass guys we would have been saying things like it is a big 'un.....a giant etc.!! 😎 You are going to have to work on your catch phrases when you catch the next large trout!! 5-26-19 Table Rock Lake/Lampe Mo,. Report
crazy4fishin replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
This is one of those "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day...teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime (not Bass)....win the lottery and he has someone fish for him" 😊 Well done Champ - Now I have to figure out if one of these fin things will work in these 'ole Nebraska ponds!! C4F -
One thing that it is showing me is there is a time to change up and not get so stuck on a pattern that is not working....a great educational piece for sure!! C4F
-
See Mixer.....it is almost like Phil was listening C4F
-
Mixer - there are four things that you can do in this order. 1. Read Phil's latest report here.....watch a couple of his vids 2. When you get down to Taney either by car or boat head over to Lilly's Landing and walk up to the office and they will have the day's specials on the board in addition to where the better places are to catch fish 3. If you are not in possession of the right tools they have them available for purchase! 4. Fish / catch (the appropiate limit) and eat!! C4F
-
Vernon my GMa used to tell me ignore those bullies - they are just jealous that they are not you...... C4F
-
Apparently we have time in our cubes to post on fishing boards during the day though 😎 I only post during breaks and lunch.....(that was a fib) And Vernon we work to support those that are "retired" so try to not bite the hand 😉
-
Thanks Johhny Raincloud!! please do not destroy my dreams with real life facts about my abilities 😉 C4F
-
I watched as much as I could on my breaks.....😉...... Aaron did a great job.....heck I thought KVD or one of the regulars to the Rock would have won. One thing for sure I learned a boat load on how to fish differently!

All right...another beautiful day....sun is coming up....great to be here !! It is fish catching time C4F
