Pretty sucky that a MILLION DOLLAR tournament would allow A-rigs when half of the club-level and even jackpot/tailgate weigh-in events ban it. Guess Johnny needed to sell some more rigs, leadheads, swim baits, super glue, etc.
-
I agree. BASS tried zeroing weights on the final day for some of their events many years ago and the outcry from most of the anglers was long and loud. I'm with Arch ... it's unfair to penalize someone who fished solid for 3 days. IMO.
-
Only problem I have with docks is they seem to be building those lifts wider every year, narrowing the space to a nano-sliver where I'm trying pitch a spoon, jig, or shaky head between the lift and the dock itself. Or maybe my eyesight/skill is just declining in my old age. ππ
-
A friend from down here (Heath Konkler) who is fishing it is in 22nd or 23rd place and said on FB that the weights are zeroed for the final day.
-
Who ISN'T winning is the local fishermen who spend our hard-earned money day in and day out around the lake area rather than once a year. And they're potentially moving 5 fish per boat x 350 boats x 3 days all over the lake. I'm not anti-tournament. I'm anti-holding every dang regional/national tournament under the sun on Table Rock when there are plenty of other lakes in the Midwest.

Only marine mechanics joke about powerhead failures. π

Well put, willyfish and TRRANGER. My understanding is that he is leasing that Long Creek Park property and charging $5 to launch. Crock of crap.

Found the same last week in one of the river arms. Might have been the White. Or the Kings. Or the James. Heck, it might've been Long Creek. I'll probably remember next week whenever the forum isn't getting blown up by the boys fishing Johnny's million-dollar shindig this weekend. ππ

I actually love that color. Works well on Table Rock, Beaver and even Ouachita. Probably Bull Shoals, too.

I will watch it myself for selfish reasons but still think it's a darn shame that the guy who is widely credited as a champion for our sport is the money behind the second-biggest tournament of the year on a lake that probably sees as many tournaments as any in the country. And in his own backyard, no less. How about he puts some of his money behind research and potential supplemental stocking of LM and perhaps SM bass in Table Rock? You know ... REALLY do something for the sport instead of his financial portfolio. And by the way, is Johnny above the law when it comes to securing regatta permits? None listed for this event.
-
Much truth here. You can relay a lot of information without giving away a darn thing that is personal. Too bad when great sources like 24/7 get frustrated at being the only ones to share. Can't really blame em for backing off when it's all take and no give.
-
Just a suggestion but one I learned from a very good dropshot fisherman ... as the water cools, move to a more natural and shad-like presentation. The old Gulp minnow has worked well for me, but you can also drop-shot the smallest Keitech swimmer or even some of the Bobby Garland-style crappie plastics. Think of it as finesse spooning without the jerking up and down.

Please don't show people that awful color of Rock Crawler. We try to help people around here, not cause them to struggle. I'd go so far as to bet those pics are staged and you actually caught those fish on another color. Why would a TR fish bite a Red River Craw anyway? Shame on you for misleading folks. ππ

Kim City - Nov 9 - Fall movement / Deep bite

To quote Larry the Cable Guy: Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. Ham, I can recall fishing an old Central Pro-Am tournament on LOZ one year and struggling mightily. Tons of fishermen on the lake but amazingly, I had all of my "spots" I'd located in practice to myself. Found out why at the weigh-in. I may have been the only "pro" in the field who zeroed that day. Bag after bag of 15-20 pounds were paraded to the scales while I sat silent in my boat and stewed. Not fun. Happens to everyone sooner or later. Dock, those are some very nice schools on that screen grab. We may have lost Bo, but you and Babler can certainly can carry the torch for deep fishing. You know your stuff. -

Maybe he's in demo mode. ππ -
Falcon Cara Weightless Worm rod (6-7) paired with a Lew's Tournament MP LFS reel. Bought the rod used from Mike McClelland. The Weightless Worm rod is the same blank that the Jerkbait Special rod is built upon, according to Mike. Works awesome for me. I use 8-pound P-Line green mono. Works awesome for me.

It's always comforting to know there are guys out there running around in the fog who aren't even smart enough to put the plug in their boat. As for the guys in the tracker, I'm kinda overstating the obvious here but you are a lot nicer than me.

Johnny is probably exempt from needing a permit.

We lost a great fisherman tonightβAaron Marten has passed away

Just had our 38-year-old police officer neighbor die of Covid-induced pneumonia. Was on a vent for nearly 40 days. Left behind a fiancee, two kids, and a host of friends and relatives. The words above are priceless and spot-on. Thanks, Phil. -
Another convert to deep-sea fishing just means more unmolested shallow fish for us skinny-water freaks. π

For gosh sakes, they are gonna keep on bringing in these regional and national events until they beat this lake into nothing but a swimming pool. And who is this one backed by? Good ol' Johnny ... you know, forever doing something to help the sport. More like helping add to his empire at the expense of our lake. Maybe I should just shut the heck up and join the party. I think I have a pretty good start on a jersey design. This is the back view, which is the most important because that's where your NAME goes in big all-cap letters like anyone freakin cares who you are.

So tired of death and disease. Just lost my 38-year-old cop neighbor to COVID. Prayers for kbilb's family that God will draw near and comfort them in this really hard time.

Pretty accurate description right here of a CONSCIENCE. Everyone has surely heard the old saying, "Whatever you do today, you'll have to sleep with tonight."

You did a good thing reporting this here, tv tom. Made me smile. I'm sure Dennis doesn't see himself as a hero.
