  1. Had a fat little basturd at the feeder while I was mowing. Was able to get within a few feet of him. Of course when I pulled out the phone to get a pic he blasted off. I'll setup the Nikon tomorrow.
  2. You didn't say all Texas lakes. You said Fork. And you are right. They do have great fishing in most of their lakes. But I think that has to do with a lot of things and not just stocking. I'm not against stocking, hell I really don't care. But don't expect the same results that Texas does just because you drop 500,000 fingerlings in the lake each year. They have a warmer climate, they have a different strain of bass and they do stock fish. But take a look at a lake like Falcon. It's warm, it has Florida bass, they stock roughly 250k to 500k each year. But it also has less pressure. Hell it even has Mexicans with gill nets catching and selling every fish they can. Still out produces Table Rock. Stock away, makes no difference to me. But a slot would be a good thing on a lake like Table Rock. I'm not going to listen to the complaint that people aren't smart enough to know the difference.
  3. It would be tough this week. It's been dropping out ever since you were up there. Right around a 100cfs right now. Drops much more and a minnow won't be able to make it up there.
  4. Most do not share his opinion, don't worry. And everything he has learned has been shown to him by somebody else. This forum was created to help like minded people share information about the sport they love. If someone doesn't want to share their info then that is fine but they have no reason to act like a turd about it.
  5. At the current water level I don't even think you will be real successful in getting a jet up past the power lines.
  6. While I would never say that their stocking program doesn't work, I think more of their success comes from the slot limit. The majority of the fish caught fall within that 16" to 24" slot. Plus the fact that most of the fisherman on that lake are C&R minded folks. But I wouldn't mind doing what ever it takes to make Table Rock that type of fishery.
  7. Lot's of river access close by where you could spend a day or two wading. Tons of options available. James River, Beaver Creek, NFOW,
  8. Saw the first one this morning having some breakfast at the feeder. Wasn't long before another one came and chased it away.
  9. That's just somebody being intelligent. You better ask if you can pet my dog or else you will be pulling back a bloody stump. The wagging tail is just one of her tricks to draw you in.
  10. I'm going to quit my job and come hang out with you.
  11. I only know of one guy that ever lost his mind when you lit a cigarette. You still taking him fishing today??
  12. That drives my wife absolutely crazy. Can't say that I blame her or you. I can't say that I don't get smoking. But I don't see why people won't just stop. And I'm not talking about a pipe or a cigar or the person that has the occasional cigarette. I'm talking about people that seem to need one constantly. It's bad, just quit. And yes it is that simple. I chewed for 30 years and this past New Years eve me and my 12 year old were outside shooting fireworks at midnight and she said why don't you just quit chewing. So I did. Haven't had one since. Still want one right now but it's not going to happen.
  13. Living in Springburg I guess I already assumed that it was banned everywhere. You might still be able to in some bars but I'm not really a bar kind of guy anymore.
  14. I don't buy that and here is why. I cuss worse than anyone. I'm a horrible foul mouth person when I'm around my buddies. But I don't in front of my momma or in public or around a bunch of kids. I train people for a living and rarely do it in front of my audience, unless it's purposely interjected to get their attention. It seems like second nature to me to know when I can and when I shouldn't. I don't even have to think about it.
  15. I have seen none in west Springburg. Hoping to get some decent pictures of some this year.
  16. Some people just can't handle snakes. My wife is terrified of them. She don't even like to see a picture of them. (Kind of like you and monkeys) If she ever sees even a garter snake in the yard we will have to burn the house to the ground and then move. It won't be pretty.
  17. I'm too far away to see any ads. KC used to be part of my territory and I bought a lot of employee meals there. But it is good stuff.
  18. And now we know why you aren't a stand up comedian.
  19. Probably doesn't matter, they would have killed it no matter what it was.
  20. YUM!

    What's Cooking?

Well I'm new to the game but it's not bad. I'm like a woman I like to complain about things for no valid reason. I've ate well today and just had a 4 mile stroll through the neighborhood. My four legged girlfriend Lilly was tired when we got back.

    What's Cooking?

I don't mind salads at all. I like them a lot. But it's usually something I have with a meal and now it's the meal. I'm good with that though if it means I get to hang out with you guys a bit longer.
  24. It was the name of that bait shop. Pretty cool place back in the late 80's.

    What's Cooking?

Yeah yeah I hear ya. Ness is going to have to take over pizza duties. I'll be over here eating a salad.
