  1. While I was working on a degree in physics we had a lot of fun "getting people's attention". Some of those were painful, things that shouldn't have burned in fact burned, threats of people being kicked out, and plenty of electrical shocks for everyone. I can't believe we all made it through all that and graduated. Oh yeah!! We didn't!
  2. That's exactly why I don't do it. I love shooting bows but have no real reason to do it.
  3. When I was growing up I didn’t have to worry about this. My dad would have kicked my butt if I would have done any of that. Maybe their daddies were pussies and didn’t teach them to be responsible. The other ones that bother me is the people that refuse to let a nice fish go because they have never caught one that big before. They would rather give it to someone they have never met than just let it go.
  4. Rule #3 seems the most important. I would drive one of those but I would rather not see them around here.
  5. 100% agree. Especially when people want to complain about how someone else wants their steak done.
  6. Well that sucks. Always took great care of us and kept our vehicles nice and safe. Some of these places you just don't want to leave a vehicle unattended for a few days.
  7. Call Linda at Adventures Campground and Float Trips. She is awesome. We always use her for shuttles on the Niangua. 417- 588-7238
  8. Lots of good options on the James. I hope to be on it Friday.
  9. Growing up in south Oklahoma we always heard these stories or found these items. Its just the way it was, seemed normal to us. "Hey dad my bike that was in the shed is about 30 foot in the air wrapped around a tree and I have no idea where the shed is" In the spring and fall you were always on high alert. Dark clouds were serious business. The only ones that really scared me were the really big ones that that stayed on the ground for a long time and you knew they were coming. The sounds you hear hiding in a cellar are very haunting.
  10. A week too late for me. I'll be there on the 11th to move my daughter in.
  11. Those 12 year old girls didn’t know the difference.
  12. If the color of thread that is on one of bobbins is even close to what I'm thinking then it's the one I use. Mostly 6/0 but will use bigger thread for some bigger flies. GSP for deer hair. Any thread will cut any foam. It's all about learning how far you can go. I haven't cut foam with thread in a very long time. Remember, you don't need to cinch it down on the first wrap.
  13. And I'm okay with that.

Steak or chops usually get nothing. They taste just fine without it. Chicken? Who cares, it's chicken. Anything getting smoked gets Bad Byron's and possibly something else depending on what it is. I've used this one for a long time. I have no idea if it has seed oils or rat poop. I never read the label.

  17. I use different thicknesses of foam but usually 2 and 3 mm. I buy it wherever I find it but that is rarely from a fly shop. Mostly at Hobby Lobby. Scissors and razor blades work great. Those foam cutters are nice but scissors are quick and easy. I have some cutters that I never use. You can glue sheets together if you want or you can just stack them. Gluing isn't necessary in most cases. If I was going to tie a foam fly for a panfish it would be a black ant. simple and effective.
  18. The real ones are smarter than a marine mechanic? Did I get it right? Do I get a prize?
  19. Not really. Not for this time of the year. Typically going to be closer to 200 cfs right now.
  20. I did earlier. Tried several times with different files and then gave up. Just tried and I still can't.

    EV ?

He waited on it for two years and then three weeks after he got it he hit a deer one night coming back from Poplar Bluff. I looked into it at that time and there is no data that I could find that would support electric vehicles hit more wildlife. I've read that even though the vehicles are much quieter at slow speed, they make the same amount of noise as regular car at highway speeds. As long as you are comparing it to a regular muffled engine. Not one of these things they put the noisy exhaust on. The thing about deer hits is they just aren't that smart. You have to watch out for them. They aren't any smarter about crossing the road than a squirrel, they just do a lot more damage.
