  1. Good luck with that. Those articles don't pay squat.
  2. I see them all the time. But I'm not going on a search just to prove a pointless point. And I don't have ANY fishing publications laying around. There are absolutely none in this house. But you can see plenty of staged stuff on social media. But as someone who loves quality photography, I just ignore it. What drives me even more crazy with outdoor photography are pics of fish on the ground, boat carpet, etc. I'm not overly concerned about the health of the fish as much as it's just a pointless photo. Taken one next to a foot is another of my favorites. And I love those quality photos with the background all blacked out. What's the point? Those are almost as bad as the pics with a flyrod in the mouth. Or laying across the back of the shoulders. What's the point? Can you imagine a photo of a spinning rod in someone's mouth? That would get bashed to death. And my all time worst thing I see with a photo is some hotshot's comment: "no photoshop, no filter" or "straight out of camera". That's great stud. You've saved the world with your genius skills using your iPhone. Nine times out of 10 those photos suck.
  3. I can understand why people feel this way. For the most part all we hear is the stupidity that goes on. But let me assure you that there are plenty of people that are acquiring new skills everyday. But you won't hear about these folks and the amazing things they are creating because it's more popular to just female doggy and moan about all the bad stuff in the world.
  4. Your hard on for MDC has grown tired. Why aren’t you bashing every other publication for “staged” photos? If it upsets you that bad why do you still receive it? Let it go man.
  5. There isn’t a sale in existence that will get me to stand in line.
  6. But that’s the American way!!!
  7. I haven’t received or seen a copy in several years and forgot it even existed until you posted this. It’s cute but pointless. Just like fancy bluegill flies, cute but pointless. Those suckers will eat just about anything that moves.
  8. That’s why I like Roaring River so much. You can almost always find some fish willing to eat a dry.
  9. It used to be 12 inches. Maybe that has changed.
  10. https://www.mysubmarines.com/perry-antipodes.html
  11. Cool video! Now I need to target some suckers. Seems that slinky weights were a thing around here in the early 90's maybe. I remember using them a bunch for a period of time. They worked good on the lakes but I hadn't quite moved over to the rivers yet.
  12. More than Johnny has ever paid.
  13. Obviously. Motors run on electricity. Engines run on fuel.
  14. Yeah and that pic doesn't show the other 100 yards of loose sand you have to walk to to get to the water. You used to be able to park right where the sand started but they changed it because dumb people were always getting stuck in the sand and it's a long ways out there to get help. The walk in last summer was fine. But after it got hot and I decided to leave I thought my fatass was going to stroke out walking back. Of course by that time I'm probably two miles from my car.
  15. I agree. The city of Springfield hates fishing.
  16. There's a good spot to fish for them from the beach out by Fort Morgan, AL. It's a bit of a walk though.
  17. I said right mind. There are idiots everywhere. Some days there shouldn't be any boats out there but you will still find them.
  18. Tried to talk my wife into going to the game this Friday. Apparently shopping with the kids takes precedence.
  19. There are some spots where you can park close and don't have to paddle far. Mostly protected from the wind too. Nobody in their right mind is taking a kayak across that lake, but the good thing is you don't have to.
  20. Dallas didn't show up.
  21. No, it’s the one under 65. Flood took it out and they were supposed to replace it after rebuilding the 65 bridge.
  22. I do understand what you are saying. I have removed aggressive fish. Just like humans they aren't all the same. Sometimes there will be a bully that terrorizes the others. Stress them out so much that they will die unless something changes. That usually means the aggressor gets released to the wild. I've seen some crazy fights. I've seen them go through the spawning ritual, not succesfully but eggs have been laid.
  23. The gills in my office do just fine. And the sculpin, minnows, and crawdads. Pretty easy to take care of actually,.
  24. That's a good show. It's not like the fishing commercials that are passed off as shows in the US.
  25. That was just for his stupid hat.
