Ducks can bring fish eggs in. I caught a northern pike out of a farm pond in Nebraska.

Over the last 10 years I have caught 5-6 over 20. Using rattle traps. One on a buzz bait. Worrell spinners. They will take anything flashy. Or noisy Lots of fun.

I am in an old flatbottom trolling up the lake. Not one other boat on the lake. All of a sudden mister bass boat goes within 20 feet of my bow stops and starts throwing crank baits. ITS A PRETTY BIG LAKE. ALL I CAN SAY IDIOTS.

I have used Walmart batteries for years. They last for years. Honeywell makes them private label for Walmart. Remember there are very few battery manufactures. Honeywell is a big private label manufacturer.

Just like running it. Adds hours.

I have known Matt the owner for 23 years. Great to do business with. Good guy. I just had a new merc I bought and the fuel pump was passing gas to the oil. Matt has one in two days and put it on. Warranty. Anytime I have taken my boats in for repair always fixed right.

Any chance you could send a pic of the olive jig. I have never fished for trout but retiring in May thought I might give it a try, THANKS

This comes up every year about crappy. They don t need to stock more. At flat creek last year april16 I was down. I counted 52 boats. CLEANING THE LAKE OF CRAPPY. I was down the whole week it was like that every day. Think how many fish ARE TAKEN. 1/32 over the size and they take them. Too easy to catch them. It is fishing pressure!! They should for the month of April no crappy fishing from point 15 for at least 2 miles up the James and flat creek. Think about it in two years you would catch a lot of 2-3 lb crappies. I fished those rivers before the internet and always caught 2-3 lb crappies. Now everybody posts what and where they catch fish and the wonder WHY the fish are smaller and less fish. Nothing matter with the lake. FISHING PRESSURE

Every year someone complains about the crappie fishing, small fish. Go up the flat creek or james river April roughly 15th. hundreds of boats. thy should shut down crappie fishing the whole month of April up flat creek and James river. Think how big they would be in a couple of years. before the internet if the crappies were not 2 lbs I did not keep them. Now everybody posts where they catch all these fish and than you have 10 boats there the next day. than they complain about the number of people fishing there spot.

I cought a 4lb 3 oz 5 years ago on tr lake on a glob of dead minnows fishing for catfish.

I have been fishing crappies for 26 years at tr. Shortage of crappies because of fishing pressure. Before the internet and everyone started posting where they catch fish I could catch crappies all day up flat creek in April all 2 lbs or more. No more. Two years ago I counted 52 boats from point 15 up flat creek, used to be just a few. Think how many fish they catch in a day. Now when they are 1/16 over legal size they keep them. They should shut down crappie fishing all of April the whole month. Think how that would up the crappie population and size!! I see pics of people taking buckets of fish, definitely affects the quality of the fishing. They never will do that but there is noting wrong with the lake, forage fish everywhere.

Flat Creek Inn in Cape Fair is the BEST restaurant in the area. From Kimberling city maybe 30 minutes. Eat there all the time. Sometimes a band on the weekends.

Wife and I went out yesterday. Trolled caught a few whites and large mouths. Using white deep divers. Decided to crack a couple cocktails and stopped and floated beautiful sunny day. After a few minutes this eagle comes at us screeching flys twice 10 feet right over the boat again screeching at us. Could not figure it out turned around and looked. My lure floated to the top and a seagull had my lure in his mouth sitting in the water, splashing a lot trying to get it out of his mouth. The eagle was going after the seagull because the seagull was splashing. So I reeled in the seagull why I was unhooking him the eagle continued to attack, screech and fly right over the boat he wanted that seagull. I unhooked the seagull and he flew away, he was fine and the eagle left us. Than pulled the boat out and a beautiful red fox walked about 20 feet behind the boat and stood there and looked at us. We leave the ramp 3 blocks up the road there roughly 20 deer standing in the field. What a memorable day.

color does not matter as was already said, the fish cannot see the top of the lure. They only paint them pretty so we buy them.

NICE FISH!! I always thought about going over to Taneycomo and trolling deep divers for those big browns. Any thoughts, anyone ever try it?

To easy to catch in the spring. Close flat creek from the flat creek inn up 1 mile. From april 5th thru the 25th. Let them apawn.There re so many boats up there taking crappie you need a parking permit. The fish have no chance. This would increase the fish count. and make the anglers work harder for there fish. Nothing wrong with the lake. To many fisherman and fish being taken.
