  1. Or pick up a cast net and catch your own.
  2. Trying to find an Ultrex - 80#-45"-24v. Pretty sure the term "backordered" really means "you aren't fishing for awhile". All but one retailer said they have no idea when they will get some as MinnKota won't or can't tell them. Found one retailer that says he is getting a shipment at the end of the week. Told him to put my name on one. We'll see.
  3. Can buy a lot of live shad for that kind of money.
  4. Cleaning fish is a breeze. With that said I'm mostly C&R.
  5. And you have proof of this?
  6. Went through all my tackle and plastics. Amazing how much unused gear I had acquired. I put together 8 large plano boxes full of hard baits. To go with each I added several jigs, buzz baits, spinnerbaits, soft plastics, hooks, sinkers, swivels, etc. Then added some crappie/panfish jigs, beetle spins, sassy shads, hooks, bobbers, and split shot. Also tossed in some trout size trebles, rooster tails, small spoons. Each package went to a youth fisherman that have the fishing addiction. Furthest packages were shipped to Michigan.
  7. Lots of females on the banks last weekend. Morning-Noon-Night didn't matter. Consistent bite all day long. Water temp 58-60. Chartreuse/purple was the hot color.
  8. Folks need to be courteous whether tourney Tom or dock owner Don. A little common courtesy from both would go a long way to having an enjoyable day on the water. Contrary to what some dock owners believe, anyone has the right to fish the water the dock is floating on. But have some common sense. Don't be banging off the dock, getting out to retrieve your lure from a poor cast, respect the dock owners property. By the same token, intentionally getting into it with fisherman who aren't damaging your property is bad as well. As for folks that don't know the rules of boating and plow past the dock at 20 yards should be held accountable for their stupidity. More than half the folks that have a boat shouldn't as they do not understand them, don't know the rules, and typically only care about themselves.
  9. Those barred feathers from a wood duck?
  10. Word of mouth from satisfied customers not pro-staffing KVD wannabes. Fish against some folks in the local weekly derbies that consider themselves on a pro staff. Guess cashing checks and/or being one of the top sticks isn't a requirement. Usually they are the ones who have no common courtesy toward their fellow anglers. Their entry fee spends just as good as the non-prostaffers.
  11. Best to build a loyal customer base through quality products, great customer service, fair pricing, and standing behind the products you sell. Word of mouth advertising is far better long term than any radio/TV spot hyping the business.
  12. Who knew couples advice could be had from Wrench. Maybe he needs his own forum....... Dear Wrench. Probably a man version of Dear Abby but no where near as good a read as Dear Penthouse.
  13. Home Improvement and Last Man Standing might be better choices.
  14. Listening to Wrench reminds me of a couple of old TV shows. The Honeymooners and All in the Family.😀
  15. Great fish and story as well.
  16. So where does it say that fish you give away are still included in your possession limit?
  17. A high percentage of people should not be driving a boat. They buy them and have no idea how to properly drive them. As for the tourney racers most of them lose money so that race might be their only enjoyment.
  18. MoCarp - you going to provide the actual regulation or do folks just need to rely on your opinion?
  19. Looks like a great day to me
  20. The walleye chowder recipe I got off this site was outstanding! Can't recall who posted it, but it is a winner.
  21. After fishing many summers in Upper Michigan we found that a little Vics Vaporub behind your ears will keep a lot of the bugs from around your head and face. Off in the orange can was an attractant. Never tried deep woods off. We used a repellant called Cutters with great success.
  22. That Norman Flake looks a lot like some discontinued Smithwick Rogue colors. I have several new in box that I'll be putting in the for sale section soon.
