  1. For the life of me Bobby, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Don't tinker with it and stay off the Active Captain App. I'm not fussing at you, but, every Garmin person has told me don't mess with it especially thru the AC App. As I said, mine is 2 yrs old and I have not touched it or installed any updates other than had the anti- bounce and the water guard put on. I'm sure your motor already had that done as it was newer. My Garmin tech that installed it said use it and don't mess with it. If there is a problem, then get it fixed and have any software updates installed, by the tech that does the repair at that time. The updates 99% of the time have zero to do with day to day motor operations. If you get into AC and start trying to install for the most part useless updating or messing with it your getting yourself in a world of $--t. This tech is running one that is going on 3 yrs. old and he has done 2 things to his motor. Put on the anti- bounce lock and the water gasket. Gasket was last year, he updated the software at that time. First update since install in 2019. I have been told by the local pro's that are running Garmin. Don't do a darn thing to that motor and get rid of the Active Captain App. Always, always if you want an update for some reason unknown, take it to a Garmin center and let a tech do it. Phil Lilley has had his for at least 3 years and not had any problem and he rents it out. I'm sure he has not even installed the anti-bounce or water guard. I saw one of his renters driving down the lake on plane a couple of weeks ago with it still deployed throwing water over the entire boat. Doty has guided out of his most every day for the last 3 yrs. without a single issue and I'd put money on it he has not been near the AC App. End of rant.
  2. What did it take to win the derby? You boys put the hammer down, had to have been a blast catching them power fishing. Even the deep fish are coming in shallow now with some huge catches on spoons in the 18' to 26' range. Lots of LM on the spoons mixed in with the walleye. What was the breakdown between jaws, K's, and LM? Thanks for the report, being layed- up here at the house I'm pretty board.
  3. All those subs legal walleye right up against the line is fantastic to see for this fishery. Glad you had a great day. One inch, 1/2 inch or a 1/4 inch, short is illegal to kill. You were right on buddy short is short. Good Luck
  4. Really enjoyed the bantering between Bo and Champ in the early years of the forum. Seemed like the past few years it turned to so much mutual respect between the two. Can’t replace a guy like that 10’s of thousands of hours of Table Rock knowledge went to rest with him. Our deepest condolences from everyone here in his OAF Family.
  5. Had mine now going into the second year. Not a single problem and spot lock on mine perfect. it’s great to be able to run across a cove at 4 mph instead of jumping down and starting the main motor. Whisper quiet and race car fast and it deploys and restows with 1 finger.
  6. I agree, never have I seen this amount of pressure. Lake is pretty much full 7 days a week and there are more guide trips than all the guides put together can take. Some of the new guides, the young ones are taking 2 to 3 trips a day. Some 4 hr . And some 2 hour trips. Jeremy Rasnick that just started guiding this year, thought he would just ease into it but has as much or more than he can handle. Way over exceeded his expectations. I’m glad, he is a great guy and very good. Endless amount of fishermen. Has not mattered, even with the lower stocking rate these past two years, it’s still spectacular.
  7. Ya I agree almost 3 years of constant flow. Lots of generation of the bug populations.
  8. You nailed it Ryan and what is so special is you don't have to be up top to catch those special sized fish. Lots are swimming below Fall Creek as well.
  9. I guess you could say the good times are here now, and really rolling. For the past 3 to 5 years this fishery has had a growth explosion on not only our brown trout but perhaps more so on the rainbows. We've seen multiple state record browns caught and it really seems like a slow day if the guides don't have client's catch from 1 to 3 bows catch and release per trip over 20 inches. As a matter of fact its gotten so that my repeat clients even with catching trophy size rainbows no longer care about the certificate and the badge. "Been there done that." Numbers of fish in the restricted zone are unreal, with tons of quality 16 to 19 inch fish. They have been on a tear for the last 3 years just devouring scud patterns from size 10 to size 16 depending on flow. UV grey in bright condition and grey in cloudy. As water speed and moss flow dictate both jerk baits and small wlure crank baits can be fished with phenomenal results. Capt. Ducky has also established a night time guide service on the lower portion of the restricted zone that has produced fantastic catches. Yes, we have night fished the dam since it was built but Duane has opened a entire untouched portion of that zone. Wasn't very long ago when the bounty of a keeper brown in Phil's winter tournament took years to claim. No longer. Biggins are coming in every derby. Outside the zone from Fall Creek down for the most part can be just as spectacular. Live bait, pink worms, you choose. Most often if your there at the right time of day your going to be successful. Plentiful stockers and enough 16 plus inch fish to tickle most of us. Day before yesterday my 4 clients fished crawlers from Fall Creek thru Cooper Creek. They caught and released 10 fish between 18" and 21.5 inches. Not to mention the plethora off solid keepers between 13" and 16." I've been fishing here since the mid 1970's and did catch lots of big bows in the 70's, but not since then has this lake section of the White River produced the quality that's here now. About the only thing I can say about that is simply go out and have some fun on this spectacular fishery Good Luck
  10. I have caught lots and lots of trout in winter up as high as Walnut Shade. One of the local guides also used to utilize this Winter fishery in Turkey Creek going as far up as the Branson Airport. It’s amazing how far up these feeder creeks they will go in the cooler months.
  11. I can get a 3/4 or 5/8 football jig down to 20' really quick and it will catch them just as good most probably better. Not a bit of strain on any part of my body either.😀😉🤗😇
  12. Super. Thanks Dave. Looks like some pretty fancy gear up on the bow😁
  13. Nice. Great pictures. Like your 2D pic.
  14. If you are doing that you are way better than every guide that fishes this lake. My congrats for sure. If your catching 3 to 5 on a milk run of 1/2 dozen points every time you go on each location with one of them producing enough fish to stay there 2 hrs. I will tell you none of us has anything even remotely like that. Deep fish are continually on the move. They frequently don't live anywhere but more often are browsers working depth, current and food sources. Here today, gone tomorrow, but then back again at another time and perhaps depth. If you have 6 locations that are producing those types of fantastic numbers, you have found nirvana on Table Rock and for sure we should be asking you, what we should be looking for. Keep on catching them you have got if figured out. Especially in the dam area.
  15. Wow, Mike congrats. Great pic's
  16. I have some Tim Hughes jerk baits that look just like that 😁
  17. That would be the appropriate size and configuration of a January spawned rainbow. Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing. Might we ask what location of the lake you caught this fish? As Phil mentioned we have seen quite a few of these the past two years from Roark Creek thru the bottom of the restricted zone.
  18. Current Falcon Rod List: 1. CCB-4-165 jerk bait special 2 CCB-6-174HC Full Grip 1 CCB-1610S Head Turner 2 CCM-4-17 Cranker That’s It for now
  19. I was just kind of going by the bill configuration and it looked really slender like a mega. Can't swear one way or the other. What ever it was he just about caught 100 lbs. on it.
  20. That bait of Skeet's looked suspiciously like a megabass. When they were at the Rock I know Bobby Lane kept saying he was fishing a Berkley bait when he was fishing a 4" Yamamoto cut tail cinnamon/purple drop shot worm. Unless you have a freeze frame picture of a bait it's hard to tell what they are doing. They might have accidentally disremembered what exact bait they had on. I know they would never try and represent a sponsor's bait in lue of really fishing something else😇

Used to see that on the Rock. Now days they're up "Maybe" for 30'seconds to a minute. That's really a blast, thanks for posting. Only problem, they're like handling a porcupine.
  22. If you thought he was reeling that XD fast on Chick he was moving the stick faster. Not turning its head, but big sweeping pulls and jerks, reeling that 7 to 1 as fast as he could turn the handle. Didn't work out for him this time. Just think it was way to fast as other competitor were moving it much slower and hammering them. I'm kind of a stick bait fanatic so it really interested me.
  23. Difference between KVD and Skeet on the jerk bait. Did you all notice the other day how fast KVD was fishing that jerk bait? He was on TV for over an hour so we got a good look at his presentation. I think in the words of the great Bill Beck he was not fishing, but throwing it out and winding it in. I timed his cast and some were as short as 7 seconds most between 12 and 20 seconds. Skeet was way more patient with his cast, taking as much as 3 minutes per throw, turning its head in rapid succession, but not moving great distance with each rod sweep as KVD was. Here is the reason Skeet caught close to 100 pounds on it and KVD did not and I do not even presume to tell Kevin how to fish a jerker. Those fish were on beds and the longer the bait stays in the proximity of those beds the greater the chance for an aggressive strike. You move the bait so fast through the strike zone there isn't even a chance for a reaction bite. Even if you can't see the beds and are just covering water He was just to hyped up being behind that I believe he speed/power fished himself out if the tournament. Anyone that saw his last hour let us know your thoughts.
  24. Said today he was also using 30 lb. Braid and 17 lb. Carbon leader so as to just put them in the boat. Said they would bite it if you within 4' if the bed.
  25. Wheeler is not fun fishing. You could hear others saying how fun it was. For Jacob it was BUSINESS. I'm ready to have them spool me on 5 lb Maxi.
