  1. Nice fish - looks like Donna is holding a quality meanie. Love that end of the lake.

    What's Cooking?

Dang Marty that rib roast looks good. Maybe next year at Jigfest we get everybody to throw in an additional $20 and we do rib roast. Dunno how that would work as it would be a lot of roast to cook at one time, but man it looks good!
  3. I'll bring a grill and charcoal.
  4. Yep, I bet you find them next time out. Nice day to be out compared to the weather the last couple of weeks.
  5. Don't let a secret spot thread run you off. These come up about every two months, nothing to get upset about.
  6. Good on you for towing them back. You deserved to catch a striper or two for that.
  7. The phrase "lipstick on a pig" comes to mind.
  8. What pics? They must have been deleted. How can I even go fishing if you guys don't give me exact coordinates to the hot spots?
  9. Cancer of any kind is a bad way to go, treatments for it aren't fun either. Much easier to put on some sunscreen, wear clothing, and big hats. Takes about one minute to put on the sunscreen, even less if you go with the aerosol spray.
  10. Sounds like a good deal to me. I have no experience with Lowrance, so can't comment on that unit, but sounds like it is feature rich. If you get one, I'd be interested to hear how it works for you.
  11. I use sunblock and a buff. Gotta protect the lips too, had some tissue frozen off my lower lip by the dermatologist. That was fun. But it took care of it, next step would've been the dreaded chemo ointment, thankfully it was not needed.
  12. Nice bag of bass!
  13. Ok, let us know for sure and we can work on getting you a seat. And if no seats are available, there's plenty of bank fishing opportunity in the area assuming the lake stays down. I'll be bringing a rod and the Neds and do some bank fishing myself.
  14. Apparently the trailer has been found, I don't know if stealing a wrapped trailer that sticks out like that a well pulled off heist. All the Facebook stuff has been deleted which is interesting, makes me wonder what is really going on.
  15. Welcome, always interesting to hear what is going on down at Lake Fork.
  16. And they just signed Malzahn to a new long term contract. If Auburn gets off to slow start next year we may see some buyers remorse. Dang Alabama, they slid into the playoff and now they are once again playing for the championship.
  17. M&M is getting the permits, should have them soon. $10 voluntary donation, proceeds to go to CAM (Christian Action Ministries) Here are the rules, such as they are. Feel free to bring food. We had a pretty good spread last year. March 10, 2018, Eagle Rock COE Ramp, 0630 start time, Tournaments ends at 1430. Must be a registered OA member to participate. Big bass format, largest weight wins. Any black bass (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted Bass, Meanmouth) are eligible, but only one bass will qualify as the biggest. Trophy will be awarded to the winner (and just think of the bragging rights you will have on the forum). Immense prestige will accrue to the winner of this tournament. You can fish multiple people out of a boat, but the trophy will go to the individual that weighs in the biggest bass. You can trailer to another Table Rock launch if you prefer. Typical bass tourney rules apply - No bait, no trolling, and no A-rig or multi-arm lures. No promises on what will be there as far as food, but last year things came together and we had a pretty good spread. I recommend you bring your own drinks. Always a chance that weather could be bad in March, if it is looking bad enough to make travel treacherous then we will have to reschedule. We'll notify everyone a day or two in advance it if look like bad weather. Past winners 2015 - Kbilb 2016 - Little Jasper 2017 - Carl W 2018 - Your moniker here?
  18. Yep Happy new Years! (Can't believe it is 2018).
  19. I have been guilty of that a time or two myself. Buy a bag of plastics thinking I am out, and couple weeks later I find I have 3 bags of said plastics buried under other stuff.
  20. We'll keep it at one bass this year.
  21. I am not going to mention the tourney name, but a buddy fished with another guy who trolled a jig during a tourney - the guy trolling it called it "dragging". He was using the boat to drag the jig, which is from what I understand the definition of trolling, using the boat to move your lure. I bet that goes on a lot. I do it fun fishing sometimes, just let the wind push me dragging a jig or c-rig - very effective.
  22. Let's give it a couple of days and then we can start measuring ice thickness.
  23. I walked the dog for about 20 minutes this morning, that will be it for outdoor activities today. I'll be looking for New Year's day fishing reports from all you man card holders.
  24. Well we are planning on having a One Bass tourney again this year, scheduled for March 10 at Eagle Rock. I will get the details out after the New Year's. Might also have a One Walleye tourney at the same time if there is enough interest from the walleye folks.
