  1. 2 big yak tourneys next weekend, plus quite a few bass boat tourneys. Going to be another interesting weekend on the Rock.
  2. DVR is set to record! I'll be able to replay it over and over!
  3. Thanks for the report! That Campbell point ramp is just not steep enough even when the water is down.
  4. We like pictures!
  5. That is a fat cutt!
  6. TrafficConeScope!
  7. Saw this elsewhere, but it has been so true for this month.
  8. Beaver gauge has gone kerblooie, just when you need it.
  9. I fish when I can and ignore the solunar tables, because it doesn't make any difference to me as to whether or not because I'm going. On the way to the lake I do pay attention to whether or not the cows are laying down. And I go out of my way to dodge skunks crossing the road. And of course, no bananas!
  10. I really like Seaguar Smackdown (it ain't cheap either Curtis 😄). The high viz green holds it's color well and it, for me at least, is just right for tying my braid to leader knots. Some brands are too stiff and other too limp, Smackdown is just right for me. I only use it on spinning gear, so don't know how it would work on a BC.
  11. Kings river peaked (according to the Corps gauge) at 25,000 CFS and is now starting to come down. I would bet there is some wood and dirty water heading downstream. The rain gauge the Corps uses at Beaver shows almost 6 inches of rain. Kings drainage probably got some of that. Anyone remember the old days when we used to get those things called "droughts"? 😃
  12. I'm sure you guys know this, but I use my sonar to tell me where they ain't as much as it tells me where they are. Look ahead can certainly help confirm where they ain't as it extends the range of the water you can search. When I am deep fishing, I want to find them, then I can get down to figuring out what they want. Reminds me of a Babler saying: "If they aren't there, don't expect them to mysteriously appear".
  13. Someone loaned me the Koob book, I wish it had more pictures of the river and its surroundings before it was flooded. I agree, now that Bill is leading the life of a retired country gentleman, he has plenty of time to put together a book.
  14. Poured down rain here too. If Bo was still with us, I guarantee he'd be looking for that muddy water in the back of a cove tomorrow.
  15. If they keep saying they are coming out with a new and improved version in 6 months or a year, I'll never get one. I am going to wait until one comes out that is the ultimate, it's so perfect that it can't be improved upon. Which means I'll be running my 10 year old birds forever.
  16. There's some truth in that, there are some very rich people who are notoriously cheap.
  17. He's got a few of these lying around. $40,030.80 - Mettler Toledo XPR56 Micro-Analytical Balance, 52 g x 0.001 mg (hogentogler.com)
  18. I might have to revisit it.
  19. Picked up a couple of packs of the Z-Man SMH worm, I like the looks, going to be giving it an on the water test before long. I can't catch them on the Swimz, I know you and Ham do, but I can't make it work. I just grind it out with the cut Zinker.
  20. When is on the water tower, it is official.
  21. Bravo!
  22. There's a great bluff to fish to the north east of point 5. the point there splits North Clifty/Big Clifty. I fish from the point south on the Big Clifty side. there's a bunch of underwater trees off that bluff. Usually some bass around those trees, fish a Ned, Jig, or Keitech and work them down the steep bank and through the trees - you'll get hung up some, but the bass are there. Stripers show up there, usually in May into June. Look for top water activity and toss a spook at them. It's a great place to fish, I don't fish it much as it's a long haul from Indian.
  23. Not too good for me today, caught 10, one nice spotted bass, 2-2.5 lbs. and the rest were in the 10-14" range. One on a Keitech, the rest on the Ned rig. Smallmouth were tight lipped today, water temp was 48, maybe the cool down put them off, well at least off my stuff. A few stripers were rolling around early in front of the ramp, I couldn't get any of them interested either.
