  1. Man $10 per dog! I think I will unretire and start a hot dog stand.
  2. That's sounds like it.
  3. That is one fat brown!
  4. A few years ago there was a noodling show on one of the outdoor channels. It was a competition, there was a weigh-in somewhere in OK, I can't remember where. Several two person teams would fan out and noodle, they could go anywhere as long as they made it back to the weigh-in site on time. Sort of a noodling reality show. I think it only ran for a year. It was entertaining. As for myself, I have zero interest in noodling.
  5. Congrats on the gift card!
  6. That's some great fishing, love those fat spots! Looked at the Regatta listings, lots of boats out there the next 2 weekends. Can they fish A-rigs in the BFL?
  7. There are now snowflakes in the air.
  8. Well looks like it is time to quit calling them just snakehead and now call them the "elusive snakehead". Good to see you out fishing, beats work! 😃 Getting the same kind of weather here today, windy, cold, forecast I saw said we might even get a few snow flurries this afternoon. Grrrr.....
  9. My main beef with windmills is they are a blight on the landscape and when they are put in, completely ruin any hunting or outdoor activity, not to mention once up, the land around them is posted. Not a big deal in the midwest, but out west it is. Notice the quote from the article, about putting them in "remote" areas, as if that is a good thing. Not a lot of remote left out there. I'm not anti- wind or solar, but sure do hate to see it installed out there in the wide open spaces. Wind farms are usually installed in remote areas, and so infrastructure like access roads, power stations, and distribution lines must be built to accommodate their construction, which adds to the overhead costs.
  10. That would be great if you can make it. Stay up at Taney, fish OA, and do some trout fishing the next day. And for all - I have seen some comments about moving the date, the main reason for doing it in March is that we can hopefully avoid the major tourneys and it is a good time to fish for a big bass. Also the campground at Eagle Rock is closed so we pretty much have it to ourselves.
  11. I had not heard of this shooting until now, here's the story (ad heavy): Good to see he has gotten back out there fishing! Wounded Springfield-Greene County Park Ranger hospitalized days after shootout (ky3.com)
  12. May have been a tornado just north of Springdale.
  13. Now it is raining, doggone weather!
  14. Too windy for me.
  15. Perfect conditions for a mosh pit. Too really do it right, we'd need Cody with us. @gotmuddy
  16. Neat fossils Marty - any idea on the fish species?
  17. Here is my one piece of petrified wood. Washington state, there's quite a bit of it in the old lava flow land where I used to chukar hunt. Used to be quite a few trunks standing, but they were dug up and moved to people houses for lawn ornaments. There was one stump that was maybe 20 feet high that was left, we used to use it as a landmark chukar hunting, we'll go down the draw to the right, you guys go down the one to the left and we'll meet at the tree. Washington geology is pretty interesting and due to the nature of the terrain you can still easily see the effects of lava flows, glaciers, and the Missoula flood. 18. Yeah who knows, might be burying his dead cat.
  19. No doubt, I'm outlining what it would take for me to go, which of course has no influence whatsoever.
  20. Here's something I found a couple of days ago. At first I thought it was a leaf imprint, but must be some kind of sea life. Pretty eroded so hard to tell.
  21. They need to move the whole operation out to somewhere near the freeway where there is lots of room for parking and away from city streets. I'm also wondering if this thing is really going to draw in huge crowds or not. There was a flyer for it in the local paper, first one I have seen. Red Eye shad on sale, BPS Stickos, BPS cranks, BPS rod/reel combos. Nothing I saw that would compel me to go there. There are a bunch of fishing celebrities, NASCAR types, and C&W singers so maybe people will go for that. Oh, and they did have Pond Prowlers for $999.00. In case anyone needs one. And boats are for sale and they say if you drive off with one they won't charge for transportation costs! What a deal! That also makes me wonder how you can tow one out of there if you can't get there in your vehicle?
  22. Little Sugar creek runs close to HWY 71 near the MO/AR border, yesterday driving along, I saw a guy on a big gravel bar leaning on a shovel. Had to be digging for stuff, looked like a shot in the dark to me, lot of work for little reward, but maybe he was on to something.
  23. Well 4 keepers isn't bad for a day on Beaver. I hear you on the crowds, tough to avoid them on Saturday in the spring.
  24. Bobby Lane pulled it off fishing a jig. He pulled out a 6lb. 3 oz. fish out of a boat dock that had him on the wrong side of a cable. I didn't watch it all day, but jigs, jerk baits, cranks and spinner baits were all catching fish. Good average size to boot, it wasn't a numbers game. You should have some good fishing Steve.
  25. I only caught some of the little ones, left the big ones for ya. 😃
