  1. Didn't you say that bass that tossed your lure looked to be at least 8 lbs.?
  2. Back home, 96 here in Bella Vista, I hope it is the last hurrah of the hot weather. Had a great time, saw old friends and made some new ones. Food was fantastic, I ate way too much, but enjoyed it all - thanks to all of you that provided the food! Here's the gang, not the greatest quality in the pic, didn't take into account the shade. The Y Brige Eagle - no one knows why it is there, no identifying plaque, maybe Sandy knows? Took a scenery shot off of HWY 248, great view!
  3. Dang Pete, those are some great fish!
  4. All those rockers of my youth are now that age or older.
  5. Once I load these bad boys in the Rav4, I'll be set too. Heading northwest in about 11 hours.
  6. The weekly paper had a write-up, the winners: The Razorback Muffler team of Chris Eiler and Ethan Gazaway - squirrel pizza and fried ravioli. They won $1,000, knives, fishing rods, and three rifles. Unfortunately, the article doesn't mention make and caliber of the rifles. I tell ya, Team Marty and Pat could win this thing. I'd be happy to help out.
  7. The Ultrex worked well, took a little getting used to. Man is it quiet, had to look at the bank to see if I was moving, could not hear it like I could that Fortrex. Improved lift assist is nice too.
  8. There's another saying from the old west that we can revise for this get-together: "Whiskey is for drinking, water is for fighting" Becomes: "Vienna jelly juice is for drinking; water is for fighting"
  9. I have caught a bunch of greenies, but that's the first striped one I have ever seen. Thanks for the ID.
  10. Nope. straight on a EWG jighead. How was the Wisco fishing?
  11. That is a brilliant idea! Blackstone cooked Vienna sausages!
  12. Fished the morning, nice and cool to start, 90 by the the time I put the boat on the trailer. For me, the slow fishing continues - Caught nine bass, only one a keeper. Best bait was a Zinker on a jighead and the fish were shallow for the most part. Caught one bass on a crankbait and that was my one keeper. Had a double on for a bit. On the single hook jighead. I knew that one of them would get off, but I got them close enough to the boat to reach for the net, as soon as I did that the bigger of the two pulled off. The one that I caught was 13", the one that got off was substantially bigger. Of course it worked out that way, big one gets off, little one landed. All in all, it's pretty unusual to get a double on a single hook lure, wish I could've gotten them both in. WT 77
  13. Caught this fish on Table Rock today, I'm thinking a Warmouth, maybe a Warmouth hybrid?
  14. I'm still bringing the Vienna sausages. Might even bring a 2nd can, because I'm sure you guys will be all over them.
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. Sounds interesting, doesn't it? Been poking around online, not a lot of info. Might be one of the few places in the world you can fish for Atlantic salmon without having to hire a guide or pay to fish a "beat".
  17. I've throwing it up to 5 FOW and dragging it out to 20-25. Haven't had much luck fishing it any deeper. Things change so much this time of year of course so that could be the wrong thing to do next time out. 😀
  18. Awesome pics, looks like a great stream to float. The nighttime tent pic is my fave.

    What's Brewing?

Scurvy Dog IPA Saw it at the local Wally World. Impulse buy, liked the pic of the retriever with a duck, and it is brewed in Norfork AR. Tastes good, has that little bit of a snap of an IPA and a hint of citrus.
  20. Stonewall Jackson's last words, we could take his advice: "Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees."
  21. Looks like shade at the park. My vote is for the park.
  22. We are meeting at Y-Bridge park aren't we? I've never been there, but supposedly picnic area is there. I'm going to shoot for getting there about 12:30.
  23. Pulled into the Big M launch one day, couple of softshells were up on the bank. They took off running, long legged things and surprisingly fast. I doubt they could beat a rabbit however.
