  1. Man I hate peacocks, they are the loudest bird out there. I wonder if they are any good to eat? Never heard of anyone eating one. Haven't seen any pelicans this fall, seems the only tine I see them on Table Rock is early spring and then they are only around for a few days.
  2. I would guess that they demo'd the buildings before the lake was filled, probably just foundations down there. Maybe a row of cabins, resort type deal?
  3. The lake is fishing tough. There's a few good bags, seems like no matter how tough it is, someone in one of these tourneys will do well. On the co-angler side, Steve Meador is in the lead, he's a friend of friend so that is how I heard about him. He's won a few of these events as a co-angler.
  4. Nice smalls, I am jealous.
  5. Well the loons are back, number of loons I saw was about equal to the number of fish I caught. I fished Tuesday and today in the upper White and totaled about 20 bass over 2 days, 3 keepers. This sunny weather has got them out in the channel again chasing small, scattered shad. If you can get on one when they come up, they'll bite but it's tough to get on them as they just aren't schooled up and are scattered. I caught some on 3.3 and 2.8 Keitechs and a couple on the 1/4 oz Kastmaster. It's an early bite, it gets tough after 10 AM or so. I did fish the Ned some, better bite Tuesday on the Ned, today I think I had two good hookups on it and they both got off and that was about it. On the plus side, the weather is great. Lots of boats out too. There's some type of FLW/BFL tourney going on and quite a few locals out. WT 60-61
  6. Yeah man 5 for 29 and change on BassTrakk for Clunn, that is amazing. My picks stink as usual, one guy at 14th and the rest are 65 and worse, they don't even have limits, like one of two fish apiece. I can sure pick them!
  7. Buddy of mine fished out of Viola on the Kings today, he has lost one of his keyrings that has a bunch of keys on it and he hopes someone finds them. So if you do, shoot me an PM or post here and I will send you his phone #.
  8. I've seen a lot of them on the clear end of Beaver the last couple of years. I would think that if a guy baited an area you could have some good carping. Lots of public bank access on that end of the lake, it would be perfect for fishing for them. I'm not interested in them myself, but the opportunity is there.
  9. I did see a mapping boat a couple of weeks ago on the upper White. But only one.
  10. That is a great smallie for Table Rock. Looks like one of those KGB baits. I looked into that brand of baits, they are hard to buy as when the guy who makes them puts them on the market they sell out in literally 10 minutes or so. I think he gets over a $100 each too.
  11. The judges have decided - congrats to Daryk Campbell SR! Daryk - I will send a PM to Phil that you have won. You'll need to contact Phil with your address so he can send the plaque to you.
  12. Staying at Rileys Daryk Campbell SR DJ Brandon Brandon#2 Mark Geno Kev RayRay Cody Phil
  13. So a little over a pound average, which is pretty good for this lake. I wonder if they televise any of it, would be interesting to see how they got them.
  14. How many fish to make 27 lbs.?
  15. If you plan on staying at Riley's please reply to this thread. If you are staying at Erik's please contact Erik and confirm.
  16. Heard back from Miles, the other people never got back to him so he has reserved the River Villa and Cedar Gables for us. Need some confirmation on who is definitely coming and where you want to stay (Miles place or Erik's)
  17. Anybody know what the reults were?
  18. Nothing wrong with catching some keeper smallies, even if you don't get a check.
  19. I wanted one of these Bond attache cases for Christmas when I was a kid. I thought the pistol with the scope was super cool, plus all the other neat features like a knife blade that popped out of the case. Dang cheap parents wouldn't buy me one. Looked around to see if any were for sale, not that I planned to buy one, just curious if they are out there. All I could find was the box and they wanted $69 for the box alone. I bet if there are any out there still in the shrink wrap, they'd sell for hundreds, maybe more.
  20. Seeing many smallmouth weighed in? I wish they would enter the species along with the weights on the score tracker deal they have.
  21. The lake is fishing tough for sure, I have a retired buddy that fishes just about everyday and he also has contacts that are fishing and it has been tough for all of them the last few days.
  22. That would be the most interesting to me is to see a study on tourney released fish. There are a series of 4 or 5 videos and this was number three. I have seen the first two, and I think in the first one the bio mentions that they inserted trackers in a group of fish when the water was warm, and I think he said that something like 24 out of the 26 fish they put trackers in died within a week. He thinks it was because they just don't recover as well from all the handling they had to go through. 2nd group which are the ones they tracked in that video they trapped in cold water and they did a lot better. To me that all hints at mortality is going to be higher for fish caught in warm water and go through a lot of handling. Of course I think we all know that.
  23. 8 AM Monday is the deadline.
  24. We're off to a great start - 1st guy to submit pics forgets his ruler, 2nd guy forgets the number. Heck I forgot to go today!
  25. Put in a call to Miles a couple of days ago but haven't hear back from him yet. Maybe he is waiting to the end of day today to get a confirmation from the folks that have reserved Cedar Gables and the River place.
