  1. Some very nice OK fish!
  2. You covered some water. Sounds fairly dirty down by point 23.

    What's Brewing?

    Carbonated, that is interesting.
  4. 20 yards is pretty bad. But you're right, best just to leave. If it's any consolation, they are probably lousy fishermen and incapable of finding fish, that's why they pulled in on you. Competent fishermen don't do that stuff.
  5. Yep, a crappie. That pond may be stuffed with them if it doesn't get any pressure. Maybe try slow reeling a white crappie jig a couple of feet under a small cork. That is if you want to target them.
  6. I am already looking forward to the game!
  7. Dolly's are a neat fish. They always were a bit under appreciated.
  8. Sounds tough, at least for catching keepers. Thanks for the update.
  9. Has to be some reel repair places that can fix them. Seems a shame to toss them, outside of the binding issue, they are a great reel.
  10. That is some great trout fishing. How about Dolly Varden, see any of them there or is it mainly rainbows?
  11. Yo-yo effect with the water levels must have the fish messed up.
  12. Some real blow-ups.
  13. The creativity of the human brain amazes me at times. You sir, are the Edison of the fishing world. Who else could have thought of this?
  14. Corps is predicting a peak at 923 today, just keep that in mind as if you launch anytime soon, the water may be up a foot and a half by the time you come back, from where you launched.
  15. I met Jim once, at the OA One fish tournament. He cam up to me, introduced himself, and we had a good conversation. I could tell that he was a good man. I am truly saddened to hear this.
  16. Good stuff, thanks for the report.
  17. Did I hear Spy Baits? We talked a bit about those last year, but haven't heard much since then. I caught a few on them last year when the fish were up top chasing bait, but haven't had much luck on suspenders with them.
  18. Sending out my drone to overfly the area and see where it is...
  19. Yeah, I hear you. It's tough to do when you are out once or twice a week. It can take a day to figure stuff out, and then it's time to go home.
  20. Nice ones!
  21. Saw a post just recently where they say the Corps is expecting the lake to crest at 923 on Saturday. Some of the launches may be unuseable, parking lots may be flooded. James river is at a record level.
  22. Thanks for the tips Alex. I've been thinking of dragging the deep cranking stick out just for the heck of it. But it's one of those things that if I don't get a bite in about 15 minutes, it gets put down.
  23. Hmmmm, you're right - forget the part about stripers. I wonder if the deep drop shot bite will go away with this change in the water level?
  24. LOL, good one!
  25. Going to be hot and humid next week, all this water will start evaporating, going to be fun fishing in that stuff. Trying to think of other conversational topics besides catch and kill vs, catch and release. I think we have beat that one to death. Might be some stripers coming into TR with the flood gates getting re-opened.
