  1. As I understand it, fall turnover gets rid of the thermocline. It forms again, though not guaranteed, in the summer, usually in June on Table Rock. If you Google "Thermocline" you'll get a much more detailed explanation than I can provide.
  2. Sheesh, it's not even the 4th of July yet.
  3. Good deal!
  4. My guess is smaller panfish, gizzard shad and such. I did see in one main channel area up the White, schooling shad with bass feeding on them, some of the shad schools were deep - 40-50 feet down. Bill Babler has reported some of the guides are getting fish 30-50 feet deep, so I'm thinking with no thermocline the fish have a lot of vertical water they can move in.
  5. Get a loaf of that miniature rye bread. On a slice of that bread, spread some cream cheese (or mayo), add some smoked trout (or salmon) top off with some chopped red onion and a couple of capers.
  6. Excellent, glad to see you and the family are catching them!

Sorry to hear that, best wishes on a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
  9. Yeah no kidding, sad thing is, even that is too much "work" for some folks. So they go thieving.
  10. You're no fun.

    World Cup

I don't know enough about it to make any predictions. But I may watch a game or two.
  12. I've heard that about batteries also, sons of guns will steal anything.
  13. I am content with seeing them on TV.
  14. For that, I'm going to keep the next walleye I catch.
  15. Some nice rigs!
  16. I wish I lived closer to Bull..
  17. Congrats on the ride!
  18. You did good Dave, I didn't even think of going back in the creeks, but it makes sense with the rain.
  19. I don't have much positive to say, fished hard to put a dozen bass in the boat. I never did really figure anything out, caught a couple of topwater, a couple on jigs in the buck brush, a couple on various plastics on a wobble head, and one early on a c-rigged Ol Monster. Nothing consistent on depth either, some shallow some deep, some were over some really deep water. Saw some fish chasing surface bait out in the main channel in front of some docks, rolled over there, water was 60 feet deep, first cast got a 2 lb. LM right to the boat that got off, next cast had one on for a bit and it got off. Couldn't get any more bites on the Ned, so switched to the Mikey, ended up catching a nice spot and a keeper LM on the Mikey, but the frustrating thing was I had at least 15 blow ups on that thing, they could not hit that lure, lots of short strikes. Wish I had brought a Redfin with me, maybe that's what they wanted. Got a nice 2.5 lb. smallie on the Ned off a gravel point, he was a bulldog fighter, stayed down, never jumped, I was convinced it was either a 5 lb. LM or a big walleye. Lots of fun on a light spinning set up. Very dark fish, tail was as black as the net cord. Water temp 74-75.
  20. HAHA, funny stuff - If I can't get them unhooked using the Boga or the net, I'll try the seat snagging method, or the "slap your buddy in the head" method.
  21. The Larew Hardhead will work with a creature bait, you'll hear folks on here refer to that Hardhead as a "wobble head". They were biting it pretty good a few weeks ago, and it should still catch fish.
  22. Good to see that the "Bait we shall not mention" is still catching them. I bet the kids are excited to be here!
