  1. Man, wish I had some loons up on my end of the lake showing me where the fish are at. Haven't seen a single one this winter. Congrats on a great day!

    LIB

Can't say that I have ever seen an airboat around here.
  3. I was out with Tom W. up the White and it was slow for us too. We caught 18 between the two of us, almost all spots, 4 were keepers but barely. Swimbaits were the best with a couple on Ned rigs and a couple on jigs. One heckuva nice day however, but it looks like back to the cooler for a few days.
  4. Great, we will see you there!
  5. I'd better get on it.
  6. I have seen pics of walleye caught up the James by floaters.
  7. Starts at 2 PM. There will be short presentations on: Crappie fishing - Payton and Tiffany Ursey Bass fishing - Nick Frakes Striper and walleye fishing with an emphasis on using bait for these species - Jon Conklin. Open time for questions/discussion. I might go, mainly to see the bass part.
  8. I released it. I don't eat a lot of fish.
  9. Good to see you guys got out. Dang vultures, I've seen some reports of them eating the black plastic seals around car windows, but so far the ones around here don't seem to be doing it (yet).

    What's Cooking?

Got me some Dinty Moore on the stove. Tastes good after a day of fishing.
  11. Once you name them, they are like your children, sort of. Good life insurance policy for a critter that gets named.
  12. It is that time of the year to be up the rivers or close to them.
  13. A great day to be out, seems like we get one of these about every two weeks or so. I had low expectations as far as fish catching, but it turned out to be a decent day to catch fish. My main fish catcher was a 2.8 Keitech on a 1/4 oz head. Fished it real slow on the bottom, slow like dragging a football jig. Most of the bites were deep, in the 20-30 foot range. Moved around a bit, but when I found fish there were usually a few in that spot. Found a good bunch back in a creek and another good bunch on a main lake point with trees. I caught 5 or so on the Ned rig, but the test on the Keitech. 21 bass, 6 were keepers and a bonus 6 lb. walleye. WT 42-45. A few boats out there, but it wasn't crowded by anymeans.

    Dynasty

Mahomes is going to be a billionaire someday, maybe multi-billions.
  15. You guys done well!
  16. I hope you are correct Daryk. A little less pressure would be great.
  17. I did not launch until 9 AM, waited for it to get above freezing. I have a spot where there have been deep bass for the last month, they were still there Saturday, but the average size was not good. Caught a bunch of 10-13 inch spotted bass running a 2.8 Keitech right off the bottom in 40 feet of water. Only caught 2 that were decent sized 2 lbers. After that bite died off, I went and fished the main basin in the dam area for smallmouth and could not find them, only caught one that went about 14 inches. At 2:30 I headed for home. Only saw 2 fishing boats, surprised me, with the nice weather I thought there'd be a lot more people out there. WT 43.
  18. I plan on planting a bunch of sugar snap peas this spring. Probably start about mid-March.
  19. Have you named them yet?
  20. Caught the 2nd half, I was pulling for them. But man, that lead evaporated quickly. Hawgs lost too, to Miss St at home. I was not happy with that result.
  21. Rick - When you get Ketchup's check, forward it to me.
  22. I know and know of a couple of veteran Table Rock deep water fishermen and they just aren't catching them out deep.
  23. Nice fish!
  24. I don't know about down there, but it was a cold rain here. I am ready for spring.
