Never could warm up to the butch bull dyke types. Had a few of them, kept the gown tight.

Covid is terrible. Its been a terrible drain on the economy and people's overall well being. As I approach the end of life, I have an approximate time of death from natural causes based on family history and life. I lost a whole spring of my life this year to Covid, the crappy weather, and stress induced by the BS that Covid generated. I love spring, turkeys, morels, fishing, gardening, and the whole rebirth of life after a long winter dirt nap. I bagged turkey season due to weather and other things. I have not fished as much due to high volume workload and weather, compounded by lack of facilities. And morels burned out when weather hit 90 degrees, early. As of late, I lost a few springs to Cancer, which has cost me at least 10 springtimes due to the treatments I endured. But, at least we have what we have and can vent it here. Its like a TV, just switch the channel if you don't like what is on this channel.

I got a thing for nurses, or maybe it was the candy stripers. Hard to remember when you are on painkillers.

Its swarm season. First nice day and they split the sheets this time of year. I think one of mine swarmed last Thursday, they looked like they were thinking about it at lunchtime when I came by. Friday, when I cracked the hive open, there were swarm queen cells that I used to boost another queenless hive. Hopefully, I left one in the hive for it to make a queen. Did not go thru it all of the way, just assume. Will know in 2 weeks if no brood. Beekeeping is a unique way of farming. You really can't get lazy and let them do things on their own.

I don't do the flu shots. I do the essential vaccines. Thinking about the shingles shots.

Cover your stuff, looks like a chance of a rare May frost coming in this weekend. Goofy weather. I have lost 15 bee hives this spring because of it. Cold snap traps them on the brood and away from the honey food supply, they starved to death. This spring has sucked all around for the bees.

I see meat every day on the other side of the fence while I am driving. All you have to do is stop and talk to a farmer and he will sell you one on the hoof. Grew up butchering pigs, steers, and chickens. Its not that hard. The only shortage is the major processing main stream stuff.

We get so fancy now days cooking our food. When I kill a turkey, the breast is sliced and fried. The dark meat is cooked and chopped and made into turkey chili, turkey salad, and I guess it could be made into a turkey taco. I am old school. Passing along the old ways. Can't imagine the Pilgrims roasting a wild bird. Maybe a fall bird is fatter and roasts better than a spring bird, never tried it on either.

Give the goberment yur checking account codes and they will drop it right in. Wifey got hers weeks ago. They mailed her a statement last week to let her know there was a direct deposit. I am a payer, I don't do direct deposit, I mail a check to them for taxes. I still have not gotten my check either.

1984 Path Microbiology classes and Immunology barely knew what AIDS was. I know, I was there taking Pre Med program classes. It was thought to be something that was going to be a major issue. Now we all realize, the first major symptom is a pain in the butt. Avoid it and you will be fine and not get it.

I never meant to condone smoking at all. My qualified MD is abreast of the reports in the medical community. He is like a brother to me, one of my closet friends. One of the first to drop should have been the impaired lungs of a smoker like the normal flu kills them. But Covid is not attacking them and killing them. Covid seems to do something different than a normal flu. Something in the cigarettes has an effect on its cycle it appears. Not suggesting in any way to take up smoking to prevent the contraction of the virus. Wash your hands, keep away from sick people, and you should be fine. Smoking kills in so many ways, I have never been one and have fought having to work with ones that did. It started when I was a kid and had severe ear infections. I suffered thru allergy tests for a whole week at 8 and shots until I was 13, Dad quit smoking when I was put in for testing. He is still alive today and has led a pretty good life as a quit smoker.

Interesting to see what this shakes out. Nicotine may work as an antiviral on this one. UV exposure may help the homeless, along with the social distancing. Nicotine has been used in medicinal ways since the Indians.

Don't know what a carnita is, but the dark meat makes good turkey salad sandwiches to have for lunch while pursuing other interests. Cook it, chop it, and freeze it. Pull it out and thaw, mix with your ingredients and have a sandwich.

Anyone catch the ad for online voting tonite on the tube? Who is better at electronics and controlling the web than the Chinese? It is an election year. Russians failed in 2016. Maybe the Chinese are better. Its just a theory. Not throwing monkeys.

Conversations from the weekend with a qualified MD on the front lines in an ER. Smokers seem to have a better chance than non smokers. Stumping the statistics on a respiratory disease on respiratory impaired persons. Homeless people are not dying by the thousands. Either they are better at social distancing, or environmentally conditioned.

Hornets feast on bees all of the time. Wasps go after them too. Talking about native ones. Bee keepers kill more bees than anything. Honey bees are an invasive species brought here by the original settlers. I killed 15 hives this spring. Who's coming after me. Do I get a wanted poster?

Because I have been out in the Sun Fishing All Weekend! Sunburn and sore muscles. For the first time since the first weekend in Feb, I had a weekend chance to get to TN and do some fishing. Started south at 4 am Sat. morn and saw my last face mask at the rest area in SE MO. Met my Doctor Buddy at Gibson County Lake to try some crappie fishing. Something different for a change. As usual, I am not a crappie fisherman and started catching bass on my lure. He ended up with several bass too, a nice big redear, several bluegill, and one dink crappie. The lake was packed, TN opened the flood gate early and the lake was full of boats. Had to wait to pull out at noon while a Professional Fisher in a nice big $40k rig put his stuff in his boat, then let his wife put her stuff in the boat, all while sitting smack dab in the middle of the 2 lane ramp at the crack of noon as the 20 mph wind was driving everyone else off. Everyone gave him the nice big one finger salute for a job well done. Off to Pickwick, decided to fish the river below the dam, it was down to 77k cfps and just barely fishable. First notch I hit, second cast, nice 5 lb cat came to boat. It will make a nice meal this week. We ended up boating about 50 fish before dark, mostly smallies and a few kentuckys, nothing over 3 lbs. Did catch a few white bass to go with the cat and a big skip jack. Fished the lake today, wind was already up this morning at launch, rough ride to the first spot. Boated a few fish today, but it was tough. Ended up finessing about 20 bass, but nothing better than a 3 lb smallie. Light jigs or ned rigged worms on light tackle fished very slow caught them all. Spawn is over and post spawn feed up has not seemed to pick up yet down there. Water temps were pretty cool at 64 and lake was slightly above summer pool. Lots of pleasure boat traffic. The subdivision looked like a holiday weekend. Temp was 86 when we pulled out and I went thru 2 big storms and hail coming back. Jackson Tn had power outages with 70 mph wind. Tennessee opened back up this weekend. State Parks were allowing campers again, boat ramps in them opened too. We sit down last nite and had BBQ in a restaurant with many other people and traffic in Jackson was about like normal. Like I say, I did not see a mask after I left MO. But the Cstores and one BBQ restaurant was only place stopped. Concessionaire at county lake only allowed 2 people in shop at a time and all chain restaurants were still drive thru only.
