  1. Grandpa always got pissed at me. I was a crack shot with the 22, always a head shot. Growing up, he scattered them with pellets from a shotgun. More wasted meat from the damage. I never faulted him for liking the chicken backs. I realize now in my older age why he liked the fatty part of meat. But I never figured out the brains. Never eat head cheese either.
  2. You only go around one time.
  3. Norm was a funny guy. I really liked his movie Dirty Work. And you could always count on his cameo's on other comedies with Sandler and Schneider. Cancer sucks.
  4. Its called "aging". Tenderizes the stiffness out of them. If they sit long enough, you get wiggly rice with them....
  5. And, you are always in the front of the boat. I have a Panfish 16 jet. Up front is the best place to read the water when running the rivers.
  6. Toss a few more pics up, may get some takers. I love the stick steer, up front controls. Works well on moving waters.
  7. Seen some 10 year old Blazers bring 13-15K on Fbook. They disappear, assume someone buys them. Good solid 5k boats before Covid hit. But, look at all the stuff in that kit and price it out in todays prices. Outboards, trolling motors, boats, trailers, and even the tires are double what they were a year ago.
  8. Chennault was one of my favorites. The Flying Tigers P 40's were some of the most interesting airframes of the WW2. Pappy Boyington started flying the P 40 and progressed to the Marines F 4u Corsair. Read a few books about them as a kid. Did some artwork on the P 40 in High School and other aircraft. I still watch old reruns of Black Sheep Squadron. Old WW2 and all aviation since has kept me interested. Flight has been a fantasy of mine, still thinking about pursuing a few flying lessons.
  9. The old Mississippi bridge, I used to park on of nites when I was running a motorcycle back and forth from Paducah and Sikeston for a job. Its an old steel high span bridge with a great view. And not much traffic late nites. Need to look me up on way thru, might buy you and the misses lunch in Cape if I am nearby that day.
  10. Still narrow with a sharp curve on each end. Mississippi side closes from time to time, but there is a new one on I 57 north of town. Ohio has to get pretty high to close the one to Wickliffe.
  11. Take pics or it did not happen.....
  12. Today's market on Facebook, 20k, maybe. But probably alot less. Seriously, there is alot of stuff there. Drift boats draw a certain crowd that put alot of money into them. Its a nice looking boat with lots of extras. And the market is high on everything because you can't get new, its in short supply. There is $300 in tires at today market on the trailer. I have never looked at the drift boats personally or was interested in them. But it looks mint. Never seen one with a canopy, wonder how that works?
  13. sneak a 4 pc rod in your luggage, just in case
  14. She is a hard one to crack. Better get your strength up so you can start getting things your way again.
  15. Wrong way to get to Colorado.
  16. I have tried to hit the South Carolina thing a few Octobers, got ran out by hurricanes.
  17. Got something against boob jobs? Surgeons have to eat too.
  18. I have been on it with my 8' pontoon when they kicked it up a unit or more. It is rated for class 3 water and has some rocker. I pulled over about halfway and had lunch. It was fun, but I was never worried. The pontoons have enough drag and the oars work well enough that I could control it. Ark Game and Fish let me float a load of fingerlings thru one day before that with a fisheries guy. They requested a high water event to float the stock pontoon that had a motor. Big net in front loaded with fingerling browns that time. Reverse the engine and they would dump some out the front. Neat little ride.
  19. Short one. Only 20.75 inches. They get fatter without swimming as fast, wonder what the age is.
  20. I think they approached the pilot sitting in his car according to news report.
  21. So what was his reasonable excuse for cruising one around in the back yards? Beavers damming up a swimming pool? New ideas to enhance his single wide? I fully understand the applications of aerial photos to enhance their photography portfolio. But, I have wondered thru my neighbors yards after they go to sleep, nothing photo worthy. But I have eliminated some of their pests.
  22. I have given up on the summer months the last few years. Sept-May are the fishing months.
  23. No wonder he went offline. He has spent alot of time on that. Looks great.
  24. Took a few pics, had to drag them off the camera.
  25. Had some good news on Thurs, Doc says the chance of cancer returning is almost nil now after over 4 years. I had a trip planned and we left out early Friday morn in the early heat with the jet boat. It has been brutal this year for the both of us, my product is up 70% in cost and lead times out 16 weeks. His patients are surging with the Covid. We started out on equal grounds. Current River produced good numbers of smallies and surprise goggle eyes. Then we hit a few Sauger and a small walleye. Traffic was light on the river and we enjoyed it till the heat got intense around 1. Off to Riverton and set up camp. Dropped in and went down around 5. Fishing was fair, ended up seeing a group of otters hunting and a Dystemper Coon wandering the bank. Stirred up a flock of buzzards roosting on river. The beauty and peace of the 11 pt brought us back to life. And the lack of any outside contact. We watched the Milky Way rise and swatted skeeters. Sat. and off to finish the part I wanted. I have now been on 11 pt from Thomasville to State Line and other parts above. The last part from 142 down had been missing. We put in at Myrtle and enjoyed the section. It is still a beautiful river down there also. And we had it almost to ourselves from morning to 1. A trip that has been 35 years in the making. Back to camp for a quick nap and dropped in at Riverton down again. Run the buzzards off the roost again, went down further that day. Fishing was still pretty good for the temps. Sunday, pack up camp and back to Current River. Dropped in and run up to holes I did last summer in Social Distance. Found a nice Sauger and the goggle eyes kept us busy. Bass were ok. Traffic on river was a little heavier. Nice lunch at the Lil Black River Cafe of Grilled Salmon with blueberry sauce, grilled shrimp, potato cake, grilled veggies and a salad. Class act. Was surprised by the whole trip. We had 11 pt to ourselves for the most part and not much on the Current. It was the heat or that slack time between school start and Labor Day. I took my first vacation day since June. Summer has been a female doggy. Sorry, no pics, no electronics this weekend. 11 pt make that part easy.
