  1. Did you freeze her or pickle? Rat is what I was thinking.
  2. For some reason, my fleet of naval ships is lacking a solo canoe. Maybe that is what I need to spend all my hard earned dollars on now. Just sold my River Boat to a friend that I fished and ducked out of for years. I grew up fishing out of canoes. I still have a 17' Grumman back in the trees. Its been about 15 years since it saw water. Yaks replaced it. I needed a little inspiration tonite.
  3. I had field mice in the shed a few years ago an bought a load of traps and put a camera on them. They had found a bag of sunflower seeds I was feeding the birds and having a feast.. The camera caught them doing all sorts of things but I was not catching. Bouncing off one trap, into another. Ninjas. Fed them the yellow brick. They don't go far. Neither do chipmunks, squirrels. Just one bite is what I use. Buy it by the case, around $35. Seems to do a pretty good job. And they love to eat it. https://www.justonebitebrand.com/all-products/just-one-bite-ii-bar I have pack rats at the farm, constant battle with them. Usually run small conibears for them. But the bait does a number on them. But they pack it off and store it for later use.
  4. Put it against a wall, block off other access. Use some peanut butter.
  5. Are you going to keep the other stuff going? Camping and the history of all of it?
  6. I have a black snake lurking around. I pulled the little boat out for sale this week and found 4 sheds in it. Not sure where it will go now. I spotted him a month or so back, jaybirds were fussing in back yard and wife noticed. Found it up a tree after the bird nest. He spotted me and froze. I tried to get her to stand in my place and keep him up the tree for a clear shot. He started down and she spooked. He got away. Snakes in my local area are never welcome. Only kingsnakes get a pass
  7. Growing up, the ones we kept for personal consumption always were named and groomed for our freezer. They were all separated from the herd. The others went to slaughter for the masses.
  8. Anyone do a wellness check on him yet?
  9. Parker is in the restricted zone. Anything above 2 Rivers where Jacks Fork runs in is 25 hp or less. Big Springs to 2 Rivers, Max 40 HP all year. Below Big Spring, Rocket Ships are allowed. Above 2 Rivers, 15 Hp or 25 Hp depending on season. Parker is marginal water for floating. I would not run a jet boat there in normal summer flows of any size to fish.
  10. I am trying to figure a way to get rid of this little female doggy in mine without the neighbors dogs coming home with a bloody foot and choke marks around their neck.
  11. Is he already polished out or still in velvet? Pic fuzzy. Massive rack for a young buck.
  12. I took fencing as one of my PE electives in college. Why not, a little sword fight tactics may come in handy some day! Fun class, but we had the little rubber tips and cheap padded suits with the hood not much thicker than what I work bees with now.. You could feel the hits. Times have changed. And now, you can't make fun of Gay things. LGBTQRS ones will take offense. But I do think its a French sport.
  13. Not many golfers are real fishermen. Just someone that sees some food while chasing white balls.
  14. Once the fishing goes to crap on a small stream because too many people are fishing it, yeah, people mostly stop fishing it, and a few years later maybe it's back to being pretty good. So what? In the meantime, it sucks. And worse, as has been pointed out over and over, the landowners have gotten tired of all the nimrods showing up to fish it, and have closed off access. THEN it gets good but only for the landowners. Not really. The water table has dropped, pressure has declined the fish population, and the world has become a not better place.
  15. The Pocket Fisherman was legendary. It set the way for the many piece rods we have today. Whoever thought of traveling with something that catches fish so small and keeping it close so we could do so. He made us think "small". Hats off to him, RIP with many Kudos.
  16. D Crap, all I got was a good memory and a fishin trip. You have cool stuff there too....
  17. Looking like the same pattern we started picking up on last year in Stockton. Glad to see MDC is starting to produce something worthwile.
  18. Did you call them? He may be the response guy.
  19. I fished Stockton a few weeks ago with my buddy in his Triton Bass boat. He had 2 Lowrance HDS units, but he never runs them. I clicked them on and spotted the Shad Balls and had some sense of depth we were fishing in new water to me. It helps. But, as in all addictions, there is the overkill.
  20. With his diligence on this forum, I fear the Covid and his other ailments may be wearing him down. When he went thru radiation, he asked me for a few pointers. His health has been declining for a while. Slipping piece by piece. Hopefully, we will hear from him soon.
  21. I know u meant to say as......... s s s
  22. Parker Access is below Ashley Creek. The Old Parker Family Homestead. Access off YY south of Montauk
  23. Right on one point, animals have more rights now than people. And you will probably have to shoot the owner after you kill their dog. The legal defense that follows when the owner tries to sue you and all of the dog lovers in the court take their side may drain your finances. But in MO. you can kill a dog defending yourself or your personal livestock. There are laws that put dog owners responsible for the well being of their pets, they can be charged for animal neglect for failing to keep the animal on their own property or under control.
  24. The stand up Paddle board, a watercraft I have never desired or figured out a use for.
  25. Yep, I know two of them. One was an addicted gambler that could not stay away from Bingo Halls and Casinos. The other was my Father in Law that was at home crippled by strokes that she brought him home a dose. Both had Moderna
