  1. They have opened it up down to the Handicap Access deck in the middle campground with the old low water bridge. Fished it Sunday and pretty well had any hole I wanted to myself. Started across from shower house down to the Handicap in the morning, caught many. Good mayfly hatch going on, switched to dry flies right off the bat. After lunch, walked up to spring and fished down to the intersection roads that shoot back to the lake. Lots of small fish.
  2. Its a disposable world.
  3. Take the classes and learn something new. Computer skills are handy, programming, website development. Learning new things keeps you young, and its not a waste of time. Times wasters are the ones that are on FB and Tiktokker all of the time when they could actually be using the knowledge on the internet to gain something in the brain. I use the net to search for history, maps, beekeeping, fishing tactics, and other research. And, of course, learn lots of things on here.
  4. What kayak are you fishing out of? Looks really open on top.
  5. A Renzetti Traveller is a wise purchase if you intend to pursue it further.
  6. I thought that is what you need when you own one, thumbing a ride....
  7. Wait till he Googles that.........
  8. Arthur getting to that thumb? Looks like a funny crook in it..
  9. Plenty of Ethyl on clearance now, hand sanitizers.
  10. I paint with words, but my tongue is kinda wonky.
  11. Depends on your political view, many think its about 90% CO2.
  12. Its a town I usually leave behind, not much to do. Broussard's is a good cajun place to eat. Old Fort D down town, go in daylight, not Confederate friendly area. Riverfront and main street has some shops and old Courthouse. Casino is up the street, never been inside. The Flood wall and its art work. A fairly boring town. PM me when you are coming, we can meet up. Working there most days.
  13. When are you coming down?
  14. I am thinking Pale Morning Dun. Look that up and see if the nymph is close to what you seek.
  15. Golden Stonefly would probably be the fly to use. Seen them on the 11 PT.
  16. First trip out in jet boat 20 some years ago, ran up river from Riverton on 11 Pt to fish. On our way back, there used to be a chute to left side of Hall's Bay you could run and we entered it full bore. He could not make the turn and into a stump we went and I was sent into the middle that time too. Its the same Panfish 16 I bought from him in 2020. He took it to Fred in Doniphan and he ironed out the big dent in the front. That limb back in October about took an eye. First physical damage I have been inflicted upon on any of our trips. Made him feel a little bad about it. Cheek hurt for 2 weeks, think it may have fractured it some. Bloodshot the eye.
  17. Company time, Company car. And it was very cold out.
  18. How much? Map card?
  19. Duck. It was up a foot and flowing over a boulder we usually went around.
  20. A steeple is a u shaped nail for fencing. A staple is a box shaped wire attachment that comes out of a tool. At least in the country English I grew up with. https://www.fencestaple.com/
  21. Last fall, in front of a sweeper, my good fishing buddy waited too long to start up. When he did, he dumped the throttle and the back end dropped in deep and sucked up a snoot full of rock. Into the sweeper dead stick, limb loaded up and whacked me in the head. About lost my eye, lost a lens in prescription glasses, and had a drive back from near Nashville in front of me. Not a fun end to a eventful day. Earlier that trip, I thought he had ripped a hole under the boat when he hit a nice solid flat rock the size of a VW just under the water at 30 mph. I was in back of a stick steer boat and ended up sprawled out in the middle. May need to get him one of those tunnel hulls.
  22. POS sensors triggered a low tire a couple of weeks ago on the Company car. Ford does not bother to tell which or how much, just an annoying idiot signal. One looked low, but station wanted $2 for air, would have taken a week or more for reimbursement. I dropped into the local tire shop and waited an hour to have them check the pressure. Free. I hate all of the new tech and sensors in the rigs we drive today. Too much info and most is worthless.
  23. I was looking at the stomp grates thinking they would be nothing but a slow down kit, more restriction on water flow. Grates off running in mossy areas would be better.
  24. Mine are factory aluminum I think. They are pretty hard though. I have seen the ads for the cone shaped nuts, may help with the vortex some. But it would be hard to tell. Probably just hype.
  25. I used to spend many days there each year. But was only there 4 last year. It's getting way overdeveloped. Fred's was still open last time down I think, did not stop in last year for a bite. Love the pickled tomatoes and walleye fillets.
