  1. I sometimes thirst for knowledge. This discussion gone awary got me to thinking so I gave myself a refresher course on the ice ages. Even looked up the megafauna that was running around during the last one. Man showed up and crossed over in the latter parts of the last ice age. I have a Scottsbluff point that we found. It dates back when there were giant bison still roaming. A minute chance one of the mastodons or mammoth could of still been around. They died out about 11,000 years ago. Scottsbluff points date 9,000 to 11,000 years ago. Amazing stuff. If I remember I might bring along some of our older points to Taney fest. I have done a good job reproducing that point and others. Pretty rusty right now and if I Knapp for you all there I had better brush up on that hobby.
  2. The last ice age lasted 50,000 years. nothing froze instantly at once and highly doubt it froze instantly to the bottom of the deepest waters. 50,000 years is a long-time letting animals and fish and mammals evolve to conditions. I would say there was some fish in the early in each ice age would be able to be targeted. There were five significant ice ages. First one started 2.4 billion years ago.
  3. I would venture to guess with the cooler climate and glacial expansion it would be a char like species with fangs 😁. @Daryk Campbell Sr better get a much longer fly rod so he can keep his distance. A beast of a fly rod that can chuck and duck a fly the size of a baby giant beaver that grew to a whopping 125 pounds.
  4. This I really like. Hope they are a native species and not a foreign introduction.
  5. Who gets to sleep with the dog?
  6. I would think it tastes like Mammoth. Actually, mammoth and mastodon have been dug up out of permafrost and eaten. Thanks Jeff for posting. I find this stuff really neat.
  7. We have our room. January 31 and February 1. Date confirmed when I called to get it. See you all there next year.
  8. Hey, that blood is keeping me alive! What better gift than I gave her my life 😀. Better than a divorce and bleeding me for all it's worth. Anybody can buy a card or box of chocolates.
  9. Nope I got out after four back surgeries years ago. Plus, I am ten months older than she is. Things won't change much but instead of her putting up with coworkers and the patients she sees through the week she will have to put up with me 24/7. This morning for Valentines Day she gave me a blood draw. Last time she will do that for me. That is one thing I will miss. She is really slick at that. What did I get her? Three vials of blood 😁.
  10. Congrats Mike! Pat's last working day is March 15th.
  11. Cody can they dance on the front deck like you can? 😆
  12. Yep, exactually what we found out, still it was really neat.
  13. Well then JD I think we should converge at your place. 😁 We picked a conservation area North East for the last one. We were in the best part of the path. It was really neat and would not mind doing this deal again. The downside is everyone else had the same idea. Traffic was crazy. No fun driving in that.

    What's Cooking?

Yes! Pat pulled the bones and we still had close to a gallon of meat. I just piled some on bread without any condiments and ate a nice sammich. I was wishing I had some crunchy slaw on it though.

Good day, Full belly and winning team.
  16. The BilletHead's will work with any date you choose. Anything can come up for anybody and you won't make everyone happy. Just pick a time and it will happen. The later date could be better weather in the long run.
  17. That is an easy answer. Cold rainy and windy. Anytime you make plans this happens! 😁

  21. Everyone should send their frenemy a valentine card. ðŸĨ°
  22. Oh, My goodness there is a blast from the past. 😁 We knew Len and Lisa very well. My Mom and Dad worked for them as did my cousin. They did not make many cowboy saddles but endurance riding saddles. He was kind of into making self-bows for a while and my parents bought me my first stave that I made a bow from. I bet there is some of those hiding in the barn where the first saddle shop was at Blossom Brown's house his mom lived in at Compton Junction. Len and Lisa lived in a teepee for a few years a mile off the highway that goes from Compton Junction to Schell City. Been there a couple times once at a big picnic. The teepee had no heat just a fire. It was a big one. They did have a heated "Bath House". I wonder how many times they slept in it. I know where that bath house is now. Not but a mile or less from the Marmaton River and Horton bottoms. Been converted to a chicken house. Lost track of those two after they split the sheets. there were many rumors of their dealings and open marriage, but I did not know them that well. ðŸĪŠ Geeze another ride down memory lane thanks @Terrierman
  23. Boat between twin bridges and the 10 bridge is my guess?
