  1. 100 % raw. Unfiltered is a tricky word in honey. I filter enough to remove the wax capping is all. honey is full of pollen, and it is good for you they claim. Taste is better. When buying honey from the store you really don't know what you are getting or where it is from. Read the label. I am treatment free for my colonies, no poison for mite control. I have never bought a bee. I trap wild feral bees to introduce into my hives. Try to find and support a local beekeeper. If you were close, I would get you hooked on good honey.
  2. Well, the way you tell us how you got around it sounds feasible :).
  3. Sounds like they are trying to keep him safe.
  4. Very nice Kendall and boys! Thanks for sharing, buddy.
  5. Thanks for letting us know Glen, Dang this is hard to hear. He was a wealth of knowledge and super fly innovator. And his artwork terrific. Dang again.

    What's Cooking?

Happy thanksgiving to all, Started out the day making a pie. We still had a bunch of butternut squash so decided to use it for a roasted butternut squash pie. This will be dessert. Protein was a sous-vide backstrap roast thanks to Big Louie. This was seared and sliced. You will notice I caught heck for not giving the Mrs. a sharp knife . VID_20221124_131141720.mp4 There was a warm cranberry sauce made to top the venison, then sides of horseradish mashed potatoes, green beans and dressing. I am full and happy.
  7. I made the frame for the picture and frame is dated February 2001 and deer was killed way before that Pat said. She figures 1998. I may have the original picture around here somewhere.
  8. Go Livie Go!
  9. Not a goldfish per se - Moldy Chum Not a fly caught fish but wouldn't it be fun!
  10. No Harem! I can't keep up with what I have now 🤣
  11. You got it man.
  12. @tjm A much, much younger BilletHead. Did I go too technology wise for backing my Osage self-bow with sinew and a snakeskin? Then taking my first stone point deer with a head I knapped. This was the first of 7 harvested this way. Truthfully, I would much rather still be hunting this way but because of a totally shot shoulder and age I cannot. So, the Crossbow happened, and I am still going. Should I as a good primitive skills advocate starve myself and not go harvest meat? I used to think compounds were over the top and thought how stupid. I don't anymore and believe do what makes you happy.

  14. I think Ketchup said roost and not nest. Baby turkeys before flight feathers are very venerable for a while and even when they are able to fly cannot get very high for at first. I seen some little ones go to roost and they were about the size of a quail and only got up a foot or two at the most. Those little birds are still easy targets from ground predators.
  15. Really short cable. Not saying they are available but will post picture when I get back to the house.
  16. Mine has cables. Love them! I just bought one set and share between the boats.

Well done and don't be blaming me for anything! I stay in enough trouble as it is Ronnie. Now I want to figure out something to do in mine. Yesterday it was chicken wings! Crispy orange chicken wings to be exact .
  18. Way to go young lady and proud dad!
  19. Bingo Ketchup just what i have been saying. Plant good habitat and get predators in check.

  22. Believe me I remember those days and talk about rabbitat (rabbit habitat) good grief there was some great hunting. Habitat and predatory management would do wonders for everything.
  23. Yes!
  24. And they both are worthless. Fescue is cheap and tough for the cattleman, so I'd say we're stuck with it.
  25. Good/not so good. Can we find something less invasive like strips of native prairie?
