Thanks for the compliment. Sorry I got out of the bait selling business several years ago, too much red tape and government regulations both state and federal. The weedguard is Surflon #45 nylon coated stainless steel leader wire.
After reading this thread a couple of times I got to thinking about my Ned heads. I started with #1 and #2 hooks but got a good buy on 1000 1/0 gammy hooks and moved to them. They are super on Stockton but Table Rock eats them up. So I decided to go back to the #2 while I am not fishing Stockton right now. I made up a dozen to try next time out.
I don’t care a lot about it either. The only good thing I see is Arig time is coming. I watched two guys chunking and winding them yesterday. I never saw either one set the hook and they were fishing the kind of bank that I would hit.
The sky was clear and the wind was low. It was also foggy. Fishing was tough for me. I only got 4. There were lots of fish showing up in Buzzard and Piney but they had lock jaw. What I caught were between 25 and 27 feet deep near the bottom. Tubes were all that produced.
It’s sounding a lot like sour grapes around here.
Personally I’ll take electric windows, heated seats, ac, cruise control, lane assist, sun roof, tow haul, gps, sirius radio, and cameras all around the truck.
Grab it. My wife saw a boat and liked it so I bought it to make her happy. Then she said it would look better with a red truck so I bought one. If momma ain’t happy ain’t no body happy.
I’m sure that you will get lots of information as guys see your post. I will only address 1 topic at this time, lake level.
Bull Shoals is the third lake in the chain of lakes on the White River. I have always considered it to be the left handed, red headed, step child. It has fewer and smaller towns with less buildup than Table Rock and Beaver. It is the last place to hold flood water. Therefore it often has to take lots of water and hold it for months. It is not unusual for it to get 20 to 30 feet high in the spring and stay that way for months. For it to stay at normal pool we would probably have to be near drought conditions.
Thanks for the report. I’d take a day like that. Last time out when I found large numbers of bait fish there was nothing around them that I could see. Small groups around points 30’ deep would have a catchable spot or two. I didn’t use a crank but may need to next time out.
