I couldn’t even find bait fish in coves. All mine were near points and around small groups of bait. All of my shallow fish have disappeared both up river and down. It looks like a week before I can return and who knows what will be happening. I may drag my Arig setups out of the rod locker next trip though I would rather not.

Can we hold you to that? It seems like that I heard something like that on Fox News a few months ago.

There were a lot more boats down lake from Cape Fair Thursday than there were up the James on Wednesday. I don’t know how you do it. I couldn’t get any love on a jerk yesterday. In fact I never got a bite less than 25’ deep.

One of my tubes (brown with chartreuse tail) on a homemade 1/4 head. That is the only bait that I could catch anything on today. Every thing I caught today was between 25 and 30’ deep. Surface temps were 52° to 55° compared to the river 46° to 50° yesterday.

It just didn't happen to be a bass.

That beats me. I only caught 5 up the James today with 1 keeper. I’m going down tomorrow.

I paid $600 for an Aqua view. I never got any good out of it at all. I gave it to my son-in-law so he can look for stuff they drop at their boat dock.

I saw lots of people earlier but the last few trips to Cape Fair there have only been a few rigs in the lot and not many boats out. I have been between Carra and Buttermilk. It seem most people on here are more into philosophizing and what not instead of fishing.

I don’t know how it is still going with voltage that low. When I had Lowrance they shut down at 11 volts. My Birds start giving me alarms at anything below 12 volts.

That guy needs to read the rule book. He isn’t supposed to give fish away until he is done fishing.

We obviously get our information from different sources.

I talked to a good friend today. He is recovering from hip surgery. During the conversation he mentioned his in-laws. His father-in law has refused to wear a mask and limit his contacts. He became ill. Before he was diagnosed with Covid his wife became ill. She too had Covid. He pulled through. She died. Of course his wife couldn’t visit her mother when she was in the hospital. She can’t even see her now because of the virus. He said she is having a lot of trouble right now. Stupid old fart.

The most consistent place that I have caught them is between the mouth of Beaver Creek and the mouth of Cedar Creek while fishing for white bass.

Either cut them up smaller or cook them longer.

I have a distant relative who is 22 and had Covid. She was hospitalized for quite a while and has ended up with lung and heart problems.

I had 12 in 3 hours Thanksgiving day in the Piney area. 9 were less than 10’ deep and 3 were 20’.

Would that have been about the time that the golf course was built down there? One of the old guides told me that it did a number on the lake.

I’ve butchered a lot of animals and it has never been fun. I don’t even like to clean fish.

It was pea soup foggy this morning. No company coming so my wife and I went to Cape Fair. It was 10:30 before we arrived. First stop gave a keeper on a spinner bait. Next stop a short on the same bait. I tried a wort but it was futile. I also threw brush hogs and baby brush hogs, no love there either one. When in doubt shaky out.. I caught 9 on the shaky. They were less than 10 feet deep. Then the bite QUIT. I couldn’t get anything. I moved over a point and saw a little stuff in 20 fow. I hadn’t used Ned yet so I fished it parallel and caught 3. I couldn’t repeat that on any other point so I put out the fire and called in the dogs. Now for some turkey and dressing.
